- The Mack Super Liner of HHA dragging a brand new CAT D11R up the Toowoomba Range. Pete from Newtown Towing is Lending A hand get the old Bulldog to the top in Record Time. Total Gross Weight 150 ton. Check it Out
They were definitely giving that Superliner a workout. Having to drag all that weight up Toowoomba Hill - AND pushing a bloody Volvo at the same time.
Lol
You guys are putting together some great trucks... absolutely brilliant job!
Flippin' Awesome!!! I LOVE that Mack.. Classic paint, Mate!!
exactly. My dad hauled a 900 series Cat wheel loader in Alaska to Canada..had to stop at every bridge, drive the loader off the trailer,go across and put the loader back on the trailer.
The setup only required a jeep under the trailer,a oversize permit, the usual oversize banners and a pilot vehicle ahead.
My dad's KW W900 has a Cummins KT450 and it has hauled items that heavy around town.
Local Heavy Tow assisting The Barking Bulldog , that's otherwise SOLO , up one of the Sharpest Grades in the Country . Good stuff .
This is the Warrego highway (A2).
The Cameraman is literally standing next the sign the says welcome to Toowoomba (population 90000), 130 kilometers west of Brisbane(capital of Queensland).
I have been told that the Toowoomba range has grades around the 10% mark.
Great footage, still getting views in 2022 !!!
making the girl at the front work,,,,,but she is loving it
Queensland, yep driven that range , it's very steep
@daewooparts actually its got the original mack V8 in it.
love it brother, the old girl sounds sweet!
Down James street during daylight hours ... why not an early morning movement?
@hwoods01 you only saw the top 200mtrs of this hill. the 'toowoomba range' is a long, VERY steep ascent and a sharp twisty road. two engines definitely required.
what highway and what km marker would i look at on a map of australia to see where you were?? what is the grade on the hill?and do you represent a grade there the same as we do here ?..say 6% is 6 foot change in elevation every 100 feet .. 7% 7 foot change in 100 feet and so on. nice riggin by the way
Good Gawd that sound! Oh it makes me tremble.
thats because it has a v-8 under the hood and sounds pretty close to the ford powerstroke
watching that little suv drive past i was like WTF that was close
Even here in Kansas we would call that STUPID IN A NO STUPID ZONE! We have seen around the harvest time with all the combines and everything that it can get UGLY with some of those people who just can't wait until they reach a clear area to pass.
what year model is your dawg??? nice truck
@texast525 was that truck broken down. and tow truck pulling it? oir did tow truck have it so steering tyres were in the air. but the axles were on ground to pull hte load in combination wiht tow truck?
Na not broken down, they do that on purpose to increase the traction and downforce on the rear wheels (drive axles).
I thought the Mack could pull the weight up on it's own?
Yes but do you think it would go up the Toowoomba range by itself ???
@@andrewking4885 first gear foot to the floor?
@@RBFR01 Something like that. I reckon that's Mack could take that climb in 3rd gear. Love to know the what the diff ratio is transmission type. Awesome Mack.
Yes but the steep bank on curves can cause loss of traction then your absolutely stuffed and block the range and once stopped it would take three tow trucks to get it going and possible diff damage for no reason
Is the tow truck pulling the Mack up the Range a Volvo NH12/NH14/NH15 by any chance?
Not sure but I think they put a 700hp in that Volvo.
Yeah the Toowoomba Range does have parts of 10% grade
OUTLAW911PS3 the truck sounds like it was"jaking" because it was a "cummins"inside :P
First right hander of the ascent would've stopped that combo had they not hired the second tow! Weight+Torque+turning twists= wheelspin= Range closed!! HHA wldnt bugger that shit up just look how they roll them boys are PIMPIN!!!!
oh C'mon i have seen your superliner in action, she could of hauled that up by her self no probs. hats off to your team you have a really nice fleet of rigs mate.
Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i wish america can make a big super heavy battle tank over 150 tons..
almost same as a maus tank
g'day texast525, do ya need an on board traffic controller lol!! i woulda stopped that prick in the 4b with the trailer comin through.
Listen to dat v8 roar
look, mack superliners v8's are not powerful, that 100 tonne cat would be easy for a Cummins 600 wherein NZ they use the Signature 600 on 200 tonne log triples
Pilots should not have let him through
Anyone thinks that the Mack broke down must be deaf lol, no offense I heard the V8 working hard all the way uphill and the Volvo? Rarely heard the engine sound lol, due to the Bulldog. Volvo ain't that strong to pull both loads.
In Oz you can, since they apparently dont know how to haul heavy loads. get a real trailer on this D11, and you only need one truck.
SUV+WOMEN= DEATHWISH
grade is the same. 1 meter for 100 meters = 1%.. the same..
Cummins signtures are not a very good engine, they cant sustain big power, have seen first hand the cracking in block and head, not to mention the sensors woes that have plagued cummins since the redhead N14, the ones i work on are derated to 600, less problems that way, and better fuel economy.
idiot in toyota prado; do not overtake turning vehicle.. think the truck's trailer was heavier than his tiny one though
americans didnt know how to drive these sorts of combinations or b-doubles/triples ect! so aussies were sent over to teach them!
