Whether you're a seasoned mechanic or a beginner, our detailed tutorial makes it easy to follow along. Save time and money by doing your own car maintenance at home! If you didn't follow along with the video here are the broken down steps:
Tools and Materials Needed for Spark Plug Change
    - New spark plugs (check your owner’s manual for the correct type)
    - 5/8 Socket wrench set with spark plug socket
    - Torque wrench
    - New oil filter
    - New oil (check your owner’s manual for the correct type and amount)
    - Oil filter wrench
    - 13m Socket wrench set
    - Oil drain pan
    - Funnel
    - Jack and jack stands or ramps
    Spark Plug
    1. Locate the Spark Plugs
    - Open the hood and locate the engine cover. 10m to remove the engine cover to access the spark plugs.
    2. Remove the Ignition Coils
    - Use a 10m socket wrench to remove the bolts securing the ignition coils.
    - Carefully pull out the ignition coils and set them aside.
    3. Remove the Old Spark Plugs
    - Use a 5/8. spark plug socket attached to a socket wrench to loosen and remove the old spark plugs.
    4. Inspect and Gap the New Spark Plugs
    - Check the gap on the new spark plugs using a spark plug gap gauge. If gap is incorrect please see dealer.
    5. Install the New Spark Plugs
    - Carefully thread the new spark plugs into the cylinder head by hand to avoid cross-threading.
    - Use a torque wrench to tighten the spark plugs to the manufacturer’s recommended torque specification.
    6. Reinstall the Ignition Coils
    - Reinstall the ignition coils and secure them with the bolts.
    - Reconnect the electrical connectors to the ignition coils.
    Changing the Oil
    1. Lift the Vehicle
    - Use a jack to lift the front of the vehicle and place jack stands under the car for support, or drive the car onto ramps.
    - Ensure the car is stable before you start working underneath it.
    2. Drain the Old Oil
    - Place the oil drain pan underneath the oil drain plug.
    - Use the 13m socket wrench to loosen and remove the oil drain plug.
    - Allow the oil to drain completely into the pan. This can take several minutes.
    - Once drained, clean the drain plug and replace it, tightening it securely.
    3. Remove the Old Oil Filter
    - Position the oil drain pan underneath the oil filter to catch any residual oil.
    - Use an oil filter wrench to loosen and remove the oil filter.
    - Be careful as it may still contain hot oil.
    4. Install the New Oil Filter
    - Apply a small amount of new oil to the rubber gasket on the new oil filter.
    - Screw the new oil filter onto the engine by hand until it’s snug. Do not over-tighten it.
    5. Add New Oil
    - Locate the oil fill cap on the top of the engine and remove it.
    - Place a funnel into the oil fill hole.
    - Pour the recommended amount and type of oil into the engine.
    - Replace the oil fill cap and tighten it securely.

Sometimes the oil level does not show up correctly for a few days, so do not put more than 5.5qt. I have just learned today on the Stelvio forum, that the MES should show the actual oil level, still need to find this feature in MES.

So just did my spark plugs, got them from Advanced Auto. $17 something a piece. Not a very difficult job but i had a heck of atime with getting the clips off. Was trying to use a pick but he made it look a lot easier. Cylinders 1 and 2, the ones closest to windshield, i was able to get out without disconnecting the wires and there was enough slack in wires that they just pulled out. Everything but the clips went smoothly, but....i have always put a little anti sieze on plugs and after evrything is together and went for a test drive to make sure all is good, i see the NGK says to put them in dry and anti sieze may cause issues with threads and such. Now iam a little stressed out! Some people are saying on forum's, no big deal. Any input about this or what should i do? Take them out and get off what i can?

@@ModdedMotors been meaning to get back on here and comment. Talked to a few guys I trust with asking this question too. One guy, that has been working on car engines for decades, I asked him about putting anti-sieze on spark plugs? He said he dosent when he is working with aluminum heads. I said I pretty positive that's what the Alfa has. The others i spoke to said i should be just fine. He said you will be just fine. Most things I read were if you torqued then to spec, that spec is for when the plugs are dry and when you put them in "wet" they will turn more than they should and possibly strip threads and all that. I just did it by feel till they were snug so I should be OK. But yeah may be something to address one way or the other for the masses. Put a few hundred miles on it so far and don't feel anything weird at the moment so... Thanks for getting back

I'm a mechanic and even on my Giulia, that middel gray clip broke using the pick. It's cheap as f*ck. lol I had to zip tie it back on. Poor and cheap design at best. We own the autel MS909. If you have an 18.5my or later, you'll have to either bypass the sgw or purchase auto auth (which I think is $60/yr) to be able to get in to do the oil reset procedure. If you're going to do this, be aware that you not only have to do the oil change reset procedure in the ecm, but also in the ipc (instrument panel cluster).
