not sure about these particular kids, but i'd hazard a guess they're having a blast. most kids love singing and the idea of dressing in costumes and recording for a music video is guaranteed to make them excited. i have a girl around this age and she loves the song and the video, and told me she'd like to be singing there! i'm pretty sure these kids are super proud to see themselves there, as my kid would be. as far as what the video what the video is about, i guess none of us would be surprised if many adults were more off than the kids :) nevertheless, kids don't appreciate art and beauty in a way adults do, they tend to be a bit more naive. also, violence and blood scares them, even though they know it's not real. however they do dedicate a lot of time and effort to fairy tales, and understand theatre, so i use that perspective when i need to get through to my kid when watching stuff like this and talking about it
