How do you we answer for hands on questions during the exam? Will they provide any access to Tableau Desktop access during the exam? Could you please guide? Because heard there was no hands on questions during the exam (Example : What is the sale of Furniture Category on 2021)
I believe the format has evolved. The updated guide is here: mkt.tableau.com/files/TableauDesktopSpecialist_ExamGuide.pdf . It seems the Specialist is more knowledge based, and the new Data Analyst is the one that has a bit of hands on/ application.

Thanks Will. The test is similar in style, but I found it to be more difficult. Mostly because you will need to get acquainted to a few new data sets in the same limited amount of time. With practice though, it is a fair and reasonable test.

Hello! This is for the older certification, unfortunately, but still covers some of the basics. For the new Certified Data Analyst - there are portions that are multiple choice / no Tableau, and a section that has the VM and all questions are applied / hands-on. Hope this helps!

The exam is administered without access to the Tableau Platform, the internet, or any other outside application." does that mean they have removed the practical portion, which you review here?
I had the same question....I heard it is now multiple choice and we do not need to connect to tableau desktop... May be what she is showing us is for the certification Tableau Certify Data Analyst
Hi @sqlbelle, I am not sure why my graph x axis for Qn 6 looks different from yours. I have selected Month(Date) in rows and it is showing Month name + year unlike your graph.
Hello Jess - it could be simply due to resolution difference. If you have a higher resolution, Tableau will tend to show more details. My laptop is a bit small so there will be less details it can show.
Hello Vivek, You do not need an actual job experience to take the certification, but Tableau does recommend at least 3 months experience working with the product, or enough familiarity that you are able to use the tool to answer both theory and practical/hands-on questions. Hope this helps! Donabel

Tableau provides some exam prep guides for their certifications. They also just changed their certifications - so it's more role-specific now. The new one is called Data Analyst, and it looks like the format and content has changed slightly as well. Once I am more familiar, with the changes I'll definitely add videos for prepping www.tableau.com/learn/certification
