    Fantastic job! Your overview's pace is perfect, your explanation of the keywords in the problems is most helpful, and your explanations are short and to the point. Thank you for taking the time to create these videos! I've taken Udemy courses, which explain the concepts, but you take it one step further by reviewing the exam guide questions. Understanding the question is 97% of what is needed to pass the exam...I use Tableau daily at work, but I'm never asked questions the same way that Tableau likes to phrase them on the exam. Thanks again!

      Hi Anna,
      Thank you so much for your comment! I am very happy to hear that you found the video useful. There are a lot of fantastic resources everywhere, and I am just hoping there will bits that people will find useful in these videos. I use Tableau everyday too, and yes, the exam questions can be a little bit tricky to decipher sometimes.
      Thank you again for taking the time to leave a comment, much appreciated!
      Take care,
      Donabel

    Hey,
    do you know whether there is a huge difference between Certified Associate Desktop and Consultant? Im going to do the consultant certification.
    I couldnt find any good information...

      Hello Ayhan, No I am not familiar with how the consultant exam parallels the certified associate.

    Awesome tutorial. Just a quick question, for Question 8, would (Level of Detail) LOD FIXED work with REGION as Dimension and AVG(PROFIT) as the measure for the calculated field "Overall Average Profit" ? Thanks

    • @sqlbelle
      @sqlbelle  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you Nishi.
      It will work with AVG{FIXED Region: SUM(Profit)}
      Note in here that we are averaging the SUMs of profit (each bar is a SUM).
      AVG(Profit) will simply get an average across all individual profit values, not the profit for the region.
      If you try it out, you will find that AVG(Profit) will yield a much lower value than what you would expect.
      Hope this helps!

      @@sqlbelle Thanks @sqlbelle for confirming that it would work using LOD,however when tried with AVG({FIXED Region:SUM(Profit)}) its giving the same result as SUM(Profit) for a Region rather than an Average.It would be kind of you to show the calculation of Overall Average Profit using LOD

    Hey Can you upload a video to explain Window sum/avg and Total functions in tableau. If already uploaded please share the link. Thanks in advance.

      Thanks Vishesh. I don't have these yet, but I do have this planned. One will be on table calculation functions like Total, Window; another is on advanced table calcs.

    Thank you for your helpful content. One question. On Q5, when you filter SUM(Sales) why don't just select 1 and 2 on the checkbox, why it needs to be changed into continues, and then select the range? It gives me different answers and I am confused with the difference. Besides that, it would be great if you could go over the window_avg function for your next video.

  • @jasjyotsingh2007
    @jasjyotsingh2007 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks for such a nice video. I am however confused about the answer for Q7 because we have the data for 2013 but we are using it to answer question for 2014. Can you give sm more details on that

    • @sqlbelle
      @sqlbelle  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Jasjyot,
      Thank you for your feedback.
      Here is Q7:
      If 2013 Sales numbers were expected to increase by 50% in the following year, what would be the total estimated sales for the Consumer Segment in 2014?
      Basically it is asking us to look at 2013 Sales numbers.
      Once we get the sales for 2013, it is asking us what it would be if it were to increase by 50%
      So (2013 Sales) + 50% of 2013 Sales.
      This is only to estimate what 2014 sales could have been (assuming that it was a future year).
      The question isn't asking us to look at the actual 2014 sales.
      Does this help?

      @@sqlbelle that really explains it all..Can u help me with one more doubt..Does the VM in the exam take over complete control from the user in the sense that u cant do anything on the main desktoo screen...the reason i ask is that i have a weak internet connection and may want to switch to an alternate wifi in case something happend .
      Also i read from one of the cohnrses that ctrl and escape dont work in the VM ? Can u suggest the alternative

    • @sqlbelle
      @sqlbelle  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Jasjyot,
      This is what I recall from the last time I took the exam.
      - That is correct, you are not allowed to use your desktop. You can only work on the VM you are provided. I am not sure what provisions you will have if internet gets disconnected. You may want to connect with the Loyalist Exam providers to ask ahead of time. You may lose time if you get disconnected, or you may automatically fail that exam.
      - That is right, certain keys and key combinations will not work (or may cause you to get disconnected from the exam VM, in which case will cause you to lose time). Many of the Tableau shortcuts can be done the long way (for example through the menu or by duplicating the steps on another pill).
      I hope this helps,
      Donabel
