Good eve to you AL, It is neat to see someone like yourself doing the work yourself and not going to someone else to do the work, you know what you are doing, and it shows. I did my whole life working on Aircraft and now that I am retired from Northwest Airlines I get to do my work on my Camaro. It needs no body work or doing anything to the inside, just doing that fire wall and new paint on motor. Love your Videos. Keep it up my friend.
Looking good Al, sometimes that old paint comes off hard and I agree time for a trunk lid you know when not to spend too much time, time is money. Love the videos..
@@ronmurphy4855 Hello, yes that paint doesn’t want to come off so we threw in the flag and said the trunk lid has to go LOL. Thank you very much for watching. Have a great day 👍🏼AL
Nice work Al, the rocker and fender look great, yeah that old paint looks tough to sand down, I take it you'll be looking for a trunk lid instead of trying to repair that one, ok bud have a great night, oh by the way check your messages ok
I had same thing with my Camaro on paint, I had to hand sand clear coat off but I noticed that when I dual action sanded it smelled really bad like a heavy old paint smell and if you got it on clothes it wouldn't come out it must have been good because it didn't want to give up the fight, great progress , get up every day and go straight to your channel.
@@chuckirwin7334 Hello, yes that is an old lacquer paint job with a lot of coats on it, it’s definitely fighting but it’s going LOL. Thank you very much for watching. Have an awesome day 👍🏼AL
i realize im not in the garage but to me the paint looks too thin almost reminds me of lacquer who knows for sure but anyways in the past my go to for stripping paint is the $2 scraper from lowes or any parts store and buy a box of razorblades because your gonna need em i worked at a bus bodyshop stripping and repainting busses complete overalls our company bought out 5 other buss companies one in chicago 2 in new york 1 in west by god virginia 1 in pittsburgh pa they were all different colors and we needed them to be shinny and white roof to bottom and i stripped 54 45 foot busses in 52 weeks that includes wheels and decals call numbers pennsylvania state highway numbers but all were stripped with that little 2 dollar scraper and many boxes of razor blades
@@ronmiller1162 WOW that’s a lot of stripping. It’s funny as my sone was stripping it down I looked at it and said to myself that’s probably layers of old lacquer paint. Thank you for sharing that story!! Have an awesome day 👍🏼AL
Al just wounding with so much of scrap getting striped down to bare metal, what the plan is for the finish. Full paint job or your patina look? If full paint what color Green?
