I have just come back from Lviv so i can hear what you mean,i noticed how clean the streets were there and coming back to the UK how dirty ours are, people were sweeping the leaves up ours are left to rot i even felt safer walking around the streets even at night not like the uk ,the food over there is more fresh and tasty and people are so friendly and help full,i defiantly go back next year, take care

Just wait till it snows in L'viv, and there you will see an amazing difference to the way that it is handled by the local authorities. The snow comes down, no matter what time, the Gritters, Road Sweepers, and Pavement (sidewalk) sweepers are out and about throughout the night. You wake up in the morning, loads of snow, but the roads and pavements are clear and everything is moving as usual. The older trams are a little draughty but when you are all crammed in, nobody notices.

@@OldGraver they seem to care more than in the uk were its getting worse every day and every thing is cut soon we paying taxes for hardly any services now,i was going to sweep the leaves up out side my house but if i put them in the bin they will not take it so no place to put them and if i dump them on the road i probably get fined so thats why no one cleans up here as if you try to help you in the wrong so every place looks messy ,i like to spend a winter over there may be next year

It's funny or not depending on how you see it but I have had this happening to myself in a face to face meeting with a surgeon I'm in desperate need of a hip replacement if I had between £13.000 to £15.000 pounds I could have a replacement tomorrow but not being that well off I have to wait for our wonderful NHS who are the best to my mind it's surgeon's working 2 job's that are a big part of this problem.

Ukrainians consider the West (especially, the USA) as a country of opportunities, where all the people are happy and enjoy life.
I am a Ukrainian man and I am locked in the country as a serf of the government. I cannot leave Ukraine. But the opposite gender may easily leave Ukraine. Speak about the gender equality 😢

The worst culture is prevalent in Ukraine is that women are much more free and empowered than men but men still have to show them the traditional chivalry like offering women of all ages seats in public transport, holding door open for them etc.
When you hold onto modern and traditional values both together, the society becomes failed and unfair. This is actually very common in other former soviet republics as well as many Asian countries.
As a Ukrainian man, you better know how failed your society has become.
Go to the West and you’ll see what a true gender equality is. We first abandoned our traditional values all together before getting modernized.

In the US, depending on your insurance, you could be paying a co-pay every time you see your primary care doctor, and an even higher copayment to be seen at Urgent Care. When you have to go through all that, you don't feel as inclined go to a doctor for minor illnesses. Ukraine's healthcare sounds like a legacy of the Soviet system of free healthcare. Very different than the US.

I must say that I hope Ukraine doesn't become like UK, USA or the EU after the war- that would be also "an invasion" , a type of defeat. I hope Ukraine retains a degree of independence.

Yes I'm sure there are expectations so the first visit there could be disappointment. I must tell you a story of African leader. His solution to everything was that Ukraine could skip going into NATO. That would mean staying as a neutral country as a buffer between NATO and Russia. He did not mention EU as the real reason for the conflict though. staying out of NATO would be fairly easy but future deals with EU-market would then be the problem.
It would negotiation regarding different EU deals, staying out of NATO and Russia would live the southern Ukraine, perhaps Donbass with very many Russians could be exception and given to Russia to keep a free Ukraine. Crimea? well that is another with a lot of Russian population and military. A free South Ukraine is more important. Ukraine needs to continue ot develop business an inovations. Many Ukrainians are in Israel with a lot of successful business. Would normal Ukrainians accept a no NATO agreement for peace? pragmatic policy, this is also what China might propose, "complaints instead of bomb planes" ( You know Olga that every conflict on earth takes the chance to attack while Biden is President and he hardly find his way of the stage and people have to point they way to him.
