I like how even when the Sculk seems outmatched it manages to pull victory out of its collective ass. Just popping up outta nowhere, in the heart of the enemy territory when there was no logical way it could have gotten there without being noticed. Makes me think of the Flood from Halo and how the Gravemind could use Neural Physics to teleport stuff and warp reality.
It's because of how it's intelligence is designed to track enemies to it. So whenever a sculk skeleton or something wanders deeper into enemy territory and dies, it pings the sculk and the sculk spreads toward's it and starts summoning mobs there.
I feel like sculk vs. Anything fights are a bit unfair for the sculk. The mod isn't finished yet, and I know that because it has a "mature" stage, which makes no difference. This tells me that it can become much stronger.
Add boss mobs tbh, make it so the nodes can grow giant sculk mounds and after a certain amount of gained mass it’ll burst into a giant skull abomination similar to the siegers from spore infection
@@Baller-e2k honestly, the Warden's existence kinda is a precedent for that. I know right now they can't get the warden itself to be on the same "team" as the horde, but having similarly threatening mobs as part of the Mature phase would thematically fit.

Im currently doing a skulk Survival on a server with some friends and in a few days we had to move bases several times. It was growing at an unprecedented rate but now since we moved across an ocean it started growing less towards my team and more towards some ppl going north. It has like 8 nodes we need to organize the destruction of ._. Spore mod looks cool and can fight in water but when/if they add water creatures for skulk it for sure will be the winner.
Update: The horde won, it deployed lag spikes when walking close to nodes and the ancient tomb. We killed all of the free standing ones eventually but the last one was impossible to fight with the constant >10 fps within 400 blocks from the castle. And enormous swarms of skulk mobs. So we decided defeat and I had to admin end it so we could take memory screenshots before starting a new pack. There was around 600 sculkPhantoms and 400 SkulkPhantomCorpses around the world. The mass had around 300k before our final assault. About 125k when all 8 nodes was destroyed and we only had the final castle left. So in short, don’t let it grow for 1-2 weeks :) It was a fun experiment, now we all are tired of skulk for some time forward.
I'm really late but that was cool to read. If I could do something like this I'd probably do the spore or flesh mod. I'd have a forever burning wall set up to contain the infection like elden ring did for the scarlet rot in Caelid. @@linussyren9221
Well, it has a brain, and is described in the mod's official page to be an ancient god. This tells me it likely is similar to many legends of demon lords and eldritch brings, many of which are sapient.

Its basically fleshes trying to take over the world, some of the fleshes can fuse naturally to be a more powerful creature. Theres also incubator that makes the world be a flesh + summoning fleshes (blocks). Incubator has 2 phases, Incubator is the main target (after Incubator dies some time later another Incubator will spawn). Phase 1 is weak ngl, Phase 2 is strong. Also fleshes take 2x more dmg when on fire tho i removed taking more dmg in fire using config cuz that makes Flesh weaker than other infections
I think they wanted to, but the Warden is coded so specifically towards hating absolutely everything that they couldn’t find a way to make the Warden not attack the Sculk Horde mobs as well.
mutationcraft is not on 1.20.1 and I recently talked with the dev of the flesh that hate and he prefer I wait for the next patch that will fix a ton of bugs
I don't just think "Skulk VS ______" is unfair, I think that just because the means for the skulk to propagate is through a Gravemind, and it's a block with no real targetable property for the opponent, the Skulk can only really be drained of resources, but never killed.
Interesting this skulk update has made it much much faster and reactive to attacks and it seems to do raids of its own more effectively now. Cant wait to see if the skulk mod finally adds the warden in because then it will be unstoppable

@@devontankersley a good idea is to code the new mobs to work LIKE the skulk notifying the warden of mobs nearby but that would require an entire rework on the mobs
@@fishthxia3060 Smart in theory, but I’m not sure Eid even that would be enough. The Warden truly hates everything that makes noise. You can even seem it run towards activated sensors. The only reason It doesn’t destroy them is cause Wardens can’t break blocks. It would absolutely kill any mobs that notified it as well.
9:09 I've had this happen often when you attack a proto. It just panics like crazy and prepares 4-5 wombs pretty much all at once... And if you fail to kill the proto AND the wombs... Well, all I have to say is, good luck.
I feel like the skulk horde comboed with from another world would be crazy potent do to assimilated skulk. Maybe try the combo of them against the wither storm?

Go there and you should see 2 options for the other 2 mods (on sculk horde you'll see options for spore and Faw, same thing for the other 2) set them to true and they'll attack each other. I think sculk and faw still prefer the player, but spore won't discriminate and will always attack everything in their sight
The siegure (from fugal infection mods) and the beast (from enother wolrd) are so powerfull and not so rare but the sculk horde hasnt got any really strong mob yet, yeah there the ravager but its weak if you think about it, and theres the sculk enderman but its really rare and not so strong, so they should add a strongh sculk horde mob that can face the siegure or the beast Ps: the sculk horde hasent got aquatic but yet, the fugal infection has got one and from enother wolrd is planning on adding some, so the sculk horde should get an aquatic mob like dolphin or guardain infected. Something I don’t fully understand. Sculk gain mass by killing mobs, right? So shouldn’t killing enemies that infinitely respawn like spore creatures actually be perfect for them?

just finished 100 days in sculk horde and it's amazing mod. spore is interesting too, maybe try it next time.
