I really get jealous when I see people able to put on that much concealer and blend out flawless. I use a literal dot of Tarte Shape Tape and it gets all crusty and cakey under my eyes and makes me look 50.

i think the revolution contour and side looks so much better. the contour looks really good and really brings out your cheek bones. i love it and gonna have to buy x
Did anyone else think the shape tape ( contour part) looked horrible? The makeup revolution looked smooth and more blended!
Toni Marsden yeah. You are absolutely right. MUR side is way more beautifully sculpted❤
They both looked muddy. She acknowledged the color was wrong, but that looked like a contour shade for a much darker person. And she also acknowledged shape tape is thicker and MUR is thinner in formula, but she still used the same amount of product for each. Application could have been better.
On camera shape tape looks a lot heavier under your eye than the makeup revolution concealer. I definitely prefer the makeup revolution on you. Looking the bomb even though you are poorly sweet pea ❤️❤️❤️

That’s a result of the application. She said herself MUR is a thinner formula, so she’d ideally use less shape tape. For sure shape tape is more full coverage. But for 1/3 of the price, not bad!

I’m so happy everyone thinks the revolution concealer is better. I bought one in my shade this week because it seemed good quality and isn’t overpriced. Now I need to properly try it out to see if its any good. I’m glad that it won’t go to waste☺️

So if my maths is correct makeup revolution is still cheaper per ml than shape tape. But it’s crafty selling so much less because it’s not as much of a bargain once you compare the two by price per ml. To buy the equivalent amount of the makeup revolution concealer would be £11.11. It’s still cheaper but I bet if they had produced the same amount of product and sold it for £11 a lot of people would not have tried it and stuck to shape tape. Would be interested to hear how long it lasts. 3.6 ml doesn’t sound like a lot but I suppose for £4 who cares!!!
I only use concealer, and therefore think I use more than average, but this only lasted me a month. Having to repurchase that quickly irked me, and I did find myself debating whether or not it was worth it. However, they offer the lightest shade of concealer available near me, so I did eventually repurchase, after swapping back to my regular concealer for two days and deciding the shade match was worth the inconvenience.
100% makeup revolution is better. It’s so much cheaper, smoother on the skin, and looks the same!!! Holy grail concealer for me!!!

Oh. My. God. I watched this video the night before I was gonna go into town anyway and decided to pick this up because it would have been cheaper for a student with all that discount 😏 and I tried it today and holy mother of God!! There is a reason why this is out of stock! I use Mac NC30 and bought c6 which is the perfect highlight and conceal shade for me. My bags have gone with some help from colour correcting which I always do. The applicator is amazing! I’ve always wanted shape tape and if this is an exact dupe then holy gosh I’m glad MUR came out with this. Forget shape tape. I’m happy with this. It’s got to be the best drugstore concealer I’ve ever used! Definitely gonna pick some more up once they come back in stock (if they ever do)

Your makeup is always so STUNNING!!! You are so pretty! Need to pickup this concealer I think it looked great under your eyes and very brightening.
Don’t know if you’ve done any wear tests but the MUR one doesn’t last as long on the skin throughout the day, if you have oily skin it definitely fades and comes off whereas the shape tape doesn’t budge. I found it wasn’t as good at covering up dark circles without using more than the shape tape. Plus it only has 3.4 mls, half the amount of most drugstore concealers when the shape tape has 10 mls (you need 3 MUR concealers to get the same amount). Either way you look stunning in this video 😘
Kirsty Kirby I think for me the main plus from this launch was that it was inclusive to darker skin tones which is very rare for drugstore concealers. For the first time I can buy a contour shade from the drugstore that! This to me is great for a first launch, I don’t get why people are so focused on the dupe aspect. I’m hoping they will launch more shades to make the range even more inclusive, I think that was the focus of their campaign! For once it wasn’t about a dupe imo.
My opinion will definitely differ from yours because you have these options in the first place when many of POC don’t have too many alternatives in the market to chose from, especially if they are on a tighter budget. So I’ll give them credit where it’s due.
Emem U I couldn’t agree more! I’m neither massively pale nor dark and find the concealer colour range with most brands is rather lacking even for me so I massively high five MUR for creating a much larger colour range. It’s about time a drugstore brand did this. I think because the brand has built their reputation on cheap dupes everything they ever bring out is hailed as a dupe. Fingers crossed for more shades in the future to cater for everyone🤞

Kirsty Kirby Kirsty Kirby that’s fair either way. Consider that this brand is still in its infancy compared to these brands that they’re competing against.... not that that’s an excuse but then again I’m speaking as a person who struggles to find things from the drugstore suitable for me in many brands in the first place, Bourjois, Rimmel, Max Factor for example would have nothing for women of my complexion or darker, even now. I can respect that they are European brands and perhaps that’s why it’s been that way up until this point but what MUR are doing pulling out all these shades will hopefully encourage other drugstore brands to do the same. I feel like so much of TH-cam missed the point of this launch, it was supposed to be about the fact that they’re trying (and of course there is room for improvement) to cater to everyone, not about the dupe to the shape tape. But that’s just my opinion.

The only improvement I would recommend for revolution is to have a wider shade range in the darker skin tones. When I was looking for my shade (C12) I realised that there were huge differences between C12 and C13, it kinda jumped from a cool tanned colour to a chocolate colour, whereas in the lighter shades the difference in the shades were much closer together, so they just need some more shades inbetween the darker tones. Other than that the formula is amazing😍

It looks so good on you! But I would say for drug store concealers let it sit on your face for a bit then blend it so it gets tacky I’ve noticed it it comes out better!

you can buy 5 makeup revolution concealers for the price of 1 shape tape concealer so there may be more product in a single bottle but you can get so much more for a less price x

Ahh as if, it looks incredible for the price! I’ve never cream contoured before cos I’m so pale that most foundations and concealers never go pale enough for me so the concept of cream contouring scares me 😳 this looks amazing on you though! Just to note, revolution is meant to have 18 shades available in Superdrug, I don’t know why your local Superdrug only has a few shades when revolution has a much wider shade range
Nods489 2 some stores only have a few shades or the go to shades. i live in a small town and they don’t have a big colour range in my town. so i have to travel to city’s or shop online x
You can order on superdrug website, usually I find there what I can't find in my local store!
I find that the tarte shape tape concealer creases like CRAZY on me and sinks into my undereye wrinkles. I was wondering if I am doing something wrong or what your tips and tricks are for this concealer. I moisturize before I apply the shape tape with a damp, squeezed beauty blender. I applied a lot before, now I'm trying to do little at a time and it still creases.
