    Thanks for the info!! Just purchased the EG4 6000xp and this battery for offgrid use. The diagram helps a lot. You are correct. This is the best bang for your buck. Love the internal heater feature, was the selling point for me living in the northeast.

    Thank you for this video, I plan to purchase one this summer. The nice screen, 27lb weight shavings, exterior charge indicator lights and lower price point are awesome compared to the outdoor model. You cited that the charging current is only rated for 100amps, but the manual actually says 200amps max for both charging and discharging. However, the recommended charging is 60-160amps. Informative video, thanks again!

      Interesting. When they first posted the specs it said max 100 amps charging. Looks like they updated it. I’ve seen them do that before after it’s in the field and they’re more comfortable pushing it harder.

      @@unpluggedtexan oh wow! I wonder why the discrepancy? I just downloaded the manual the other day and it says 200amps max charge/discharge. The outdoor model was always 200amps max charge/discharge. It was my understanding that the BMS and internals were pretty much the same between the two.

    UNPLUGGEDTEXAN, YOU ANSWERED MY QUESTION 🙋‍♂️:
    1. THAT YOU CAN PARALLEL YOUR NEW 14KW EG4 WALL BATTERY 🔋 WITH YOUR EG4LL BATTERY 🔋 THAT THEY ARE DESIGNED TO BE BACKWARD COMPLIANT TO WORK ON ONE INVERTER!
    2. ONE CONCERN IS THAT IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT OF SOMETHING PUSHING THE CABINET INTO THE BATTERY BARS INSIDE CAUSING A DANGEROUS INCIDENT OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK!
    3. THERE SHOULD BE A RUBBER MAT TO INSULATE THE CHASSIS FROM TOUCHING THE BATTERY TERMINALS ON THE INSIDE!

    We are getting ready to do our own ground mount solar system. Initially we will be grid tied, but plan on potentially going off grid at some point. Our electrical service is 600 amp and our house is quite large (6,000+ square feet). Can you install 4 of these in parallel? How many EG4 inverters do you need for 4 of these batteries? I’ve learned a lot watching your videos. Keep up the good work.

    • @unpluggedtexan
      @unpluggedtexan  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can put as many of these batteries as you want on the EG4 18k pv inverter. There’s no limit. You will need an external bus bar though to add more than 3 of these in parallel. You’re only limited by the amount of watts the EG4 18k pv can handle (12,000 off grid). But you can parallel multiple 18k pv inverters together to increase that. I’m not sure off hand how many you can parallel together. But it’s at least 2 of those inverters.

      @@unpluggedtexanThanks so much for the quick response. We’ve already purchased Jinko 560w biracial panels and the Ready Rack ground mount system. Just waiting to get our system designed and get utility approval. I was super excited to see the EG4 indoor battery come out. As a nonprofit we will be applying for the 30% direct pay federal program. Thanks again for all the great information. We had gotten quotes of over $130,000 for a lesser system. This lead us on our DIY journey.

      Would you recommend the 18k over the Sol Ark 15k for a house OP asked? Been watching your videos and I've been leaning towards the Sol Ark. I have a 200 amp box and would need to do everything electric (stove, dryer, tankless, etc).

    • @unpluggedtexan
      @unpluggedtexan  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@ItIsJustDan if money wasn’t an option I still lean toward the Sol-Ark 15k. I like the awesome phone support you get with Sol-Ark. But if you’re all electric I would recommend getting a hybrid (heat pump) water heater and the new GE combo all in one heat pump washer dryer. You will save tons of electricity. Even with the Sol-Arks 12,000 watt off grid capacity, you can get very close to that if running an electric stove, standard electric water heater, and electric dryer at the same time. Now throw in your air conditioning and you’ll probably overload the Sol-Ark 15k or the 18k pv inverter. It’s not often you’ll run all those appliances at the same time, but I’m sure it will happen from time to time.

      @@unpluggedtexan Going tankless and I've been watching a lot of your videos to see what you've been using. I think I will be running two different inverters then one dedicated strictly for the appliances and one for the rest of the house. Is that recommended?

    am buying an indoor wall mounted EG4. I have Schneider Inverter xw6048 with latest firmware. In addition I have insight facility. I am told by Schneider that XW6048 does not have the control board required to allow closed-loop battery comms. Is that true? Any workaround for BMS to communicate with the Inverter? I don’t have it connected to my LL batteries yet. But you will not be able to do closed loop communication mixing the LL batteries and the indoor wall mount. The two BMS’ would be battling eachother. So non closed loop is the only way to use them together. I don’t mind that as I’ve never had any issues.

  • @williamirizarry1113
    @williamirizarry1113 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I think server rack and wall mount batteries don't like to be mix matched. It's either all server rack or all wall mounts on the same inverter.

    • @unpluggedtexan
      @unpluggedtexan  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’ve got a white paper EG4 gave me describing that it’s fine to mix the wall mount battery with the EG4-LL. As long as you have at least 15 kwh’s of LL’s per 1 wall mount battery. But you will not be able to connect them in closed loop. The BMS’ on those will not talk to eachother.

    Does the Sol-Ark 15k inverter allow you to input two strings of the EG4 Wall Mount Indoor batteries to get a total of 6 batteries without an external bus bar? Or would it be more advantageous to use an external bus bar to get that amount of batteries? Thank you.

    • @unpluggedtexan

      Not sure on that. I’m actually not 100% sure you can do closed loop communication with the indoor wall mount battery and the EG4-LL’s. It may need to be in non closed loop communication to work with the LL batteries. I’m assuming that may be the same with the LifePower4’s. I’ve had my system with the LL’s in non closed loop communication with my Sol-Ark for a long time with no issues. So being in closed loop communication isn’t that big of a deal for me.

    • @robr.2006

      Lifepower 4 and LL use a different communication protocol. The Lifepower4 have Four dip switches with a binary address of zero to 15 which is a total of 16 batteries maximum.
      The LL series and this new EG4 battery have 6 dip switches or a possibility of 0 to 63 or 64 total uniquely identified batteries.
      There may be a way to get cross communication hub between Lifepower and LL series communication bus.
