I come from a family of pretty mellow people. At work, I once was criticized for being too 'water off a duck' and not getting angry about anything. It was supposed to be a negative, but I took it as the best compliment ever. I have no desire to yell - it stresses me out when others do. It takes time to change. But it can be done. My husband used to yell and get angry. He worked at it and is a calmer person now. It takes time and conscious effort, but you can do it.

I suffered from panic attacks for years now and after I embraced slow living my life has been so much better. I do things on my own terms and I don't let anyone dictate how fast I go . My anxiety has gone way down and I am loving life once again. Thanks for this video it is the best way to live 🙌
i purposely park further away at stores for the walk, drive in the slow lane, have my drive home with no music/podcast or anything- to revisit the day. there’s a lot of power in the small things. thank you Gabe!
Slow living for me has been implementing an early morning walk each day before work. On weekends I’ll walk to the coffee shop and indulge a bit. Walking is one of the simplest forms of exercise and really helps slow things down. Double benefit!
I agree with you on the walking. Any day I have off I enjoy a nice long walk looking at the scenery. I don't find a lot of people/friends who enjoy walkkg.
I've just come to accept somethings that i can't control. Knowing Gods in control and he brings things into our lives sometimes to showvus how much he loves us.
Thank you for your beautiful message. More men need to hear this. Also, thank you for keeping the music quiet in the background. So many TH-camrs put loud annoying music and it’s a huge turn off. God bless you and your family.
I can’t handle watching the news any longer. I have had many many anxiety attacks, so I decided to just generally stay away from the news, especially national news.
yup, same. ive been much less stressed lately and feel overall better because my brain is filled with information crucial to me, which is mostly positive information that i let in.
Yup. People can’t stand to watch or listen to the news. Rely on their friends to tell them what’s going on. Same thing happened in Germany in 1933. It didn’t work out well.

When you guys are ready to start your children in school, I highly recommend homeschooling! It compliments our minimalist life so well. My husband also works from home and I get the joy of homeschooling our children, while working on my art on the side! I think you guys would LOVE it!
@@noopurkulhari2787 It depends on what state you live in as far as rules/regulations/requirements. However, most families use a variety of curriculum per grade and subject to assist in the teaching. I’ve been following you for a while and your content keeps getting better and better, Gabe! I resonated with many of the ideas you mentioned in this video, it was nice to hear them put into words. Slow mornings, filtering the content I consume, focusing on the things that can be in my control - I couldn’t agree more. Greetings from Hungary!
I learned to follow the speed limit when I moved to the country 😁I now live where we have wildlife show up on the highway often enough to remember to slow down less accidents and I now apply that to daily life just slow down ❤ We are a country of speed is success but not really when you slow down and start living a slower pace! I no longer miss the sunsets 🌅
These are some great tips on how to be more intentional with your life and your time. And what I love most is that they’re easy to adapt to different circumstances.
Honestly I cut out all news in 2008 and I was able to get off my anti depressants. I do the same and check in with a friend but my life is so much better and have all news outlets blocked
Excellent guidance and advice! I love slow living and working towards that more every day. Now if only my husband could understand the "stay calm no matter what"...
I watch all the millions of productivity channels out there… but the idea of choosing the longest line at the checkout just kind of blew my mind. Thank you for sharing this. Subscribed!
I always look forward to your videos! Thanks for sharing the "past" version of you and the current version. It's inspiring to be reminded that we CAN grow and change. We are never stuck in behavior patterns that don't serve us anymore! I'm going to adopt the "do 5 minutes of nothing." I've never been good at meditating - but I believe I can do five minutes of nothing and I believe in the benefit it will cause. Slowing down needs to be intentional, bit by bit in your life. I tried following the speed limit for one day... I nearly lost my mind on the highway; however, I'm much more calm following the speed limit off the highway. The flow of traffic is slow and I used to get annoyed. Now I embrace! Please continue to make these videos! You're literally changing lives!!
I'm a DUAL Citizen. Philippines and USA. Lived the first 15 yrs of my life in the Philippines. Now, I have been living in the USA for 25 years. With God grace. I really want to be financially independent in 3-5 yrs. I want to definitely SPEND the rest of my life stress free. USA IS NOT THE BEST PLACE TO STAY DUE TO FAST PACE AND COST OF LIVING. Time for me to go back home and ENJOY ISLAND 🏝 LIFE ❤
Biggest tool is your time. I watched mine like a hawk. Had a red car at one point try to kidnap my son and I saw it and he knew not to get in cars with strangers.
I implement most of these tips and agree that yes, they really help. Some family members could do with watching less news, but I’m glad there are options to not have to participate as much. I think being informed is fine, but after a few minutes- no thank you, I’m okay on what else is going on the rest of the day. Want to go outside and enjoy the fresh fall air on a walk, or things like that. At least just personally, but no offense to anyone who enjoys watching a ton of TV/news. I tolerate it because I have to, but in my own home, no, it will be much more quiet.
Maybe if I get it down to 3 tasks, writing down/reviewing my to-do list at night may be ok, but if I start writing down too much my insomnia and stress starts kicking in right before I go to bed.
I have been follow You from the 😮😊 and I’m so happy fore You and your family and You success! Sooon 600.000 sub, can you belive it!? Jannike from Sweden ❤🇸🇪

Depends on if it helps your lifestyle or not. Financial minimalism for us, is zero subscriptions. Not for music, not for TV/movies, not for food. Nothing. I can catch a lot of things for free and full episodes of stuff or movies I want to watch on TH-cam. May have short ads every few videos, but I can do the same for music listen to it uninterrupted mostly. And, there are free apps on the smart TV that you can watch different things. I have a DVD binder and portable DVD player to watch specific movies or series whenever I feel, for free (considering the subscription you have to pay for monthly, DVDs are buy once for life). For us, we've saved so much money over the years and even though we still struggle we aren't in debt over it. That's the freedom that works in our lifestyle. It won't be the same for others.
I would love to point out how easy it can be to ignore politics when you are not part of a minority and are not (or think you are not) affected by what you call "noise".
