Happy that I read, learned & applied this wonderful wisdom of the Tao Te Ching when I was younger. It actually transformed my life for the better by helping to reshape my priorities & values in life. Lao Tzu left us such an incredible gift, I wish more people would know & apply these incredible lessons in their everyday lives. It can truly change your life, I'm living proof of that.

It's interesting how Taoist quotes and Stoic quotes sound similar to each other in essence and form.

In Lao Tzu's mind, the tao that created everything is capable of giving us peace, joy and personal power. The compulsion to strive arises out of a perception that we must gain mastery of the world, or a little section of it, to feel whole. It is therefore more probable that striving, while a natural way to express our identity through creating something, is not the best path to success.

I love Taoism. It's just so simple yet complicated, but so easy and in harmony. When you compare Taoist philosophy to the ideology of Abrahamic religions especially Islam, there's a huge difference. The latter is all about fighting, dominance, suppression and alienation. Taoism is so pure, truly peaceful and constructive.

If you understand others you are smart.
If you understand yourself you are illuminated.
If you overcome others you are powerful.
If you overcome yourself you have strength.
If you know how to be satisfied you are rich.
If you can act with vigor, you have a will.
If you don't lose your objectives you can be long-lasting.
If you die without loss, you are eternal.

Because one believes in oneself, one doesn't try to convince others.
Because one is content with oneself, one doesn't need others' approval.
Because one accepts oneself, the whole world accepts him or her.
