George Harrison was the lead guitar player for the Beatles! He played the solo on Let It Be, which you covered. This is off of his first solo TRIPLE album.
Other than George Harrison being one of the all time greats in the history of music, putting aside the fact he was one of the "Fab Four" (the Beatles), he was an amazing song writer as well as an incredibly gifted guitarist and composer. This is one of many songs I and other old bastards who served Her Majesty in both Gulf Wars and Afghanistan used to sing to the youngsters we were in charge of to help them keep their nerve when in a high stress situation, like when engaging an enemy force. We found that singing great songs badly helped steady kids by showing that music can distract them just enough from there fear, even though we were as afraid too. We sang the Beatles, Queen, E.L.O., Earth Wind and Fire, pretty much any one of the great songs we knew the words to. I first discovered how much music helps in high stress situations when my Royal Marine company was in Ethiopia in 1985 during the famine, we listened to Live Aid on the radio in one of the refugee camps. When Queen came on, it was like a switch had been pressed, first the children started to dance with us, dragging us up to join them. That night a few of us cried about how stunned we were at seeing people who were suffering so much, had had the ability to lift up our souls when it was them who were suffering. It was in Ethiopia I first sang "My Sweet Lord" as a kind of prayer to help us watch over and protect the people we were there to help. I sang it for the next 30 years to and for those I was trained to lead and look after when I felt I needed something to hold onto, it's a gift George Harrison gave to so many with the simplicity in the message in the song.
George wrote and sang some of the Beatles’ greatest songs. He wrote Something, While My Guitar Gentle Weeps, Here Comes The Sun. His solo efforts include Give Me Love, What is Life, All Those Years Ago.
All of the Beatles have solo careers as well . Their names are Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. Any songs you come across by these artists will be 🔥
George Harris was a member of the Beatles. When the Beatles broke up he went solo and had some wonderful albums. He became deeply apart of the Hindu belief and this song was dedicated to his religious leader at that time. He also was apart of The Traveling Wilburys in the 80's which was a collaboration band with some other famous artists. Love watching you discover awsome song!!.
Great reaction to the genius that is George Harrison. "What is Life" is another of his that I hold in high regard. Don't feel bad for not knowing who he was. His personality was definitely overshadowed by the other three Beatles. He is seriously underrated.
Such an iconic song. You can clearly hear John singing back up vocals. Clapton on guitar, and o this one track. Ringo is actually playing the drums. Which I could hear his distinctive sound. I had to Google it. As Jim Keltner was the actual studio drummer on the remainder of the album. RIP George Your missed and loved my brother 🙏
The first benefit concert of its kind - and an inspiration to Bob Geldof, when he was putting "Live Aid" together (with Midge Ure). Bob was 'knighted', George was only offered an "OBE", which was a lower title than what Paul McCartney had received. George told them, in no uncertain words, no.
Yes, George was the spiritual aspect of the Beatles. Quiet, reserved, spiritual....like a true Pisces. And though John and Paul were the main songwriters, George ALWAYS hit it out of the park when he wrote Beatles songs. "Something" is a perfect example of that. Doesn't matter that you didn't know who he was (R.I.P),you know who he is now. That's what really matters. Always love watching y'all react to great music and movies! 9:09

One of George Harrison's quotes when asked about the names of the Lord & God he used in his lyrics of this song, was “It does not matter what you call Him, just call Him” That quote helped me ❤ ❤ ❤
George was so underated. When they stopped touring in the mid 60s he went to India and became a follower of the religion that worships Harri Chrisna (I spelt that wrong I know) then got the rest of the Beatles into it. He had some great songs along with being a great guitarist. My fav Beatle. There was documentary called George Harrison living in the material world. I recommend it great watch
He sings lead on the Beatle tracks he wrote-Here comes The Sun, If I Needed someone, Taxman and while My guitar Gently weeps to name a few.
the guitar slide on this song is beyond beautifull.
Here Comes the Sun, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, It Don’t Come Easy. What Is Life?
Most of my favorite Beatles songs were written by George.
Same here! "Something" is my favorite Harrison-Beatles song. Even Frank Sinatra called it "the greatest love song ever written" and even did his own version of it.
First up. Great song choice. One of George’s best. George was one of The Beatles.
favorite moment in the video was at 5:04 when she can't help it, and closes her eyes and smiles. George Harrison does that to pple. when you just go along for the ride this mans music is timeless and meaningful to damn near anyone :)
My Sweet George ❤️❤️❤️🎸🎸🎸
Lol, obviously you have learned who George is by now Part of his treatment for the cancer was spent at the Mayo Clinic where one of the doctors caring for him was a colleague of my brother in law They told of his kindness, generosity, and unassuming behavior. A gentle man
Love this song. Used to play it every morning.
What a wonderful VIBE that makes us feel this song! A very great inner peace! George was inspired when he wrote this masterpiece! Congratulations on the choice folks! a hail here from Brazil!
this is from George’s fantastic solo album after the Beatles split up ... “all things must pass” it proved George was just as good as Paul and John as songwriters....
I wholeheartedly agree! I have the album and so many great songs on that album!
Better. Never cared for John. Paul and Linda and wings were fantastic.
I do love his voice, too. I am very baby Gen X so my first identifiable GH song was "I got my mind set on you."
My favorite Beatle and my favorite song by him. Thanks for reacting to it.
Never heard of George Harrison ? Wow ! just one of the best musicians in History !
I’ll loved this song for decades. I know you two are too young to remember records but this was the first record I ever bought.Thank you for posting it and I really love your facial expressions all the way through the song, I could really tell the both of you were not just listening to it but feeling the song also. Great job👍
i know a million other commenters have already pointed this out, but i still can't help but smile listening to you guys wonder aloud whether the lead guitarist for literally the most successful band of any genre and of all time has any other good songs or whether this was just a one hit wonder
Welcome to the music of George Harrison. I adore this song.
My Sweet Lord and What is Life are two of the most beautiful, touching and emotive collections of notes and words to ever caress the eardrums of a human being.
I appreciate that you two are open to discovering music. People dont understand different generations and so you never heard of George but opened your ears and minds to listen to him. And from your review you two totally get it.. peace and God Bless.. keep listening, learning and growing..
OMG I know I have one foot in the grave when I see someone who never heard of the Beatles..just gonna go cry.
They HAVE heard of the Beatles and HAVE reacted to some of their songs, that is why I was stunned when they didn't know who George was!!
@@patticrichton1135 cause he was “Quiet Beatle”, they said. Those that knew him knew otherwise. He just wasn’t in as much of a need to get public attention as Paul and John were.
My favorite Beatle
Just a cool guy
And talented as hell
He was one of the Beatles. I love this song I hope you do too
So happy for you !!! Welcome to one of the best singer and songwriters in my opinion
What is life is my favourite of George's many songs
I was so fortunate to see George Harrison live at the Boston Garden. It was a great concert 😎👍
He was a Beatle!!!!! enough said
Never try to hide your smile if it is honest. It's so beautiful!
He has an absolute fire benefit called, "Concert for Bangladesh" that includes Billy Preston, Leon Russell, Eric Clapton, Ringo Starr in his "backup band" 😂🔥 very unique talent, spiritual, philanthropic guy. RIP 🙏♥️ ps: he wrote the song while My guitar gently weeps. There's his version, and there's the version during a tribute to him with Eric Clapton, Tom Petty, Prince, Ringo and George's son. Dive on into George my young students of music. Love you two 💞
There is not another song around like this one ever . ThanXs George .
George wrote/sang the most played Beatle song on Spotify, Here Comes the Sun.
On any given day, it's the best song to wake up to.
GEORGE IS ONE OF THE KINGS OF MUSIC THANKS
He had Ringo play drums this album
George was lead guitarist for the BeaTles.
He used to be referred to as the quiet BeaTle
Great talent
Great reactions guys !!
George wrote and sang some of the Beatles’ greatest songs. He wrote Something, While My Guitar Gentle Weeps, Here Comes The Sun. His solo efforts include Give Me Love, What is Life, All Those Years Ago.
One of the most beautiful songs!
All of the Beatles have solo careers as well . Their names are Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. Any songs you come across by these artists will be 🔥
Always loved this sweet song by George Harrison.
George was the lead guitarist of the Beatles. You reacted to "My Guitar Gently Weeps" with Prince. George wrote and sang that song. 🎸🤙
Prince played Eric Clapton's part. George wrote and sang it with the Beatles.
@@debjorgo thank you.
@@SearlesHernandez I figured you knew this. Just added it for the official record. :)
John, Paul, G _ _ _ _ e & Ringo from my home City of Liverpool. R.I.P. My Sweet George ♥
Love watching you discover awsome song!!.
the quiet beatle, such a lovely guy,his music is so uplifting
Great reaction to the genius that is George Harrison. "What is Life" is another of his that I hold in high regard.
Don't feel bad for not knowing who he was. His personality was definitely overshadowed by the other three Beatles. He is seriously underrated.
We are so blessed to have so much great music! I grew up on all music tv was horrible back in the day!! Music is the best drug!!!❤
Great
John wasnt on this song. Ringo was. And Peter Frampton on guitar
Wow wow what song the best George. 🙏
George Harrison also produced the Concert for Bangladesh in 1971. A huge concert and brought exposure to the suffering of others on the planet.
RIP George, he's with the Lord now.
Yes, Lord Krishna RIP Sir George.
Great reaction, George Harrison is one of the Beatles.
George Harrison is Lead guitarist and vocals for the Beatles
Ringo Starr "It Don't Come Easy" & "Photograph"..Both ABSOLUTE Classics.
Dont forget No No No song and Six O’clock
George Harrison was in the Beatles...Often referred to as "The Quiet Beatle"
Or the spiritual beatle.
Some of the most streamed Beatles songs were written by my favorite Beatle. George Harrison. A man with such a great heart and spirit.
George was the most spiritual Beatle, I can't believe you don't know who he is.
He had a lovely voice that just chills you out, a bit like Cat Stevens does.
I was so sad when he died
Chanting love, love, love
George knew love has power
I suggest Beware of Darkness … the live version with Leon Russell at the Concert for Bangladesh.
First ex Beatle to have a #1 hit. "My Sweet Lord" Christmas 1970. #1 hit worldwide for weeks.
His very first single & album.
Elton John heard it in a taxi & was overwhelmed emotionally.
This man has so much amazing music. From his start with the Beatles, his solo career, his work in the super group the Traveling Wilburys. There's a ton to get into here. He's an absolute legend.
