It was really helpful.. .. I had problems with the two bolts and spacer, as well as being able to see the idea of the two almost identical pieces with serrations.. . I had also tried the hole that you say you have to use if you have to use hydraulics... So now I can see the idea... ! THANKS

The easiest way to get bending with this machine is after installing the die, put the pipe/tube in and lock it down with the bolt and saddle. Then install the follower. It is marked as to what hole to put it in as each die size is different.
The other thing to know is that when installing an air hydraulic drive on this machine, make sure that the diameter of the cylinder is 3 inches. There are 2 1/2 inch cylinders out there and will not work with the Swag and other cylinder mounts. On the Jd2 model 32, Swag recommends the machined mount and not the bent saddle mount. The machined mount is much stronger and comes with the knob for the cylinder, the mounting plate and the shock cord return. The machined mount centers the cylinder on the machine and prevents twisting and eventual breakdown of the seals in the cylinder.
My stand is 3 inch square 1/8 inch wall tube and has wheels on the bottom to move it around. To make a decent stand, you will need 3-36 inch 3 inch tube. The mounting plate supplied by Swag is 3 inches wide and fits perfectly. I also recommend spraying the pins, the die and the follower with lithium grease. Seems to make installing the dies and pins easier.

yeah not too worried about the rubbing, just wanted to make sure i didn't miss a spacer or something
as for pin issue, once i actually loosen the bolts i can pull the pin no problem, im using the swag air over hydro setup so perhaps thats pushing the drive link ever so slightly as to mis-align the pin holes. that and the weight of the 2" die makes it a bit hard to jiggle the link as im trying to put the pin in. over time im sure it will get easier. thanks for the quick answer!

have you noticed the drive link rubbing on the bender frame when full retracted? the weight of the die pushes the lower portion of the link on my bender when its full retracted.
And did you have any issues with inserting or removing the die pin when you first started using it? Im sure its the tight tolerance with the fresh powdercoat but i have to loosen the drive link bolts to get my die pin in.
