VSC can not get rated, unless rob wants to rate one of the hardest levels in the game as 2 stars (Beating a rated level over 2 stars in under 30 seconds activates the anti-cheat)

1. levels under 30 seconds have almost never been rated and i think it's pretty clear robtop isnt going to rate them

If the word next to the clock is "medium," "long," or "xl," it can be rated. If the word next to the clock is "tiny," or "short," it won't be rated-that's how it's always been.
XMas Challenge
tiny or short levels CAN be rated, but as someone else said, if a level is above 2 stars and it is beaten in shorted than medium time, it triggers the anti cheat

I do think the absolute limit for length should be medium or 30 seconds. Cobwebs still feels like a full level despite being that short.
I also think that the standards should get higher and higher the shorter the level is, so a level like cobwebs is only able to get rated because of just how good it looks (subjective ofc, though I would say the amount of detail is pretty objective, whether its good or not is something else)

Cobwebs got rated because its technically SLIGHTLY over 30 seconds, meaning the gd servers recongnise it as a medium level. Something like VSC cant be rated because and tiny or short level cant be rated above 2 stars (rob has an anti cheat that makes it so any level above 2 stars thats beaten in less than 30 seconds is marked as cheated and will kick you out)
8:12 This is 100% the case. Robtop has been rating a lot of old levels recently, more than usual at least, so I think he is just getting around to rating some older levels that he failed to see the first time due to there being an influx of rates. Robtop is out of touch with the community in some aspects so this is probably the cause of a delayed cobwebs rate unfortunately :/

Are we just gonna pretend that tower descent doesnt exist? It got rated at 25 seconds, unrated and then rerated after a 5 second endscreen extension was added, meaning its 30 seconds long. Its a hard demon btw.

6:12 challenge levels are required to be under 30 seconds, and the shortest possible length for a rated level is 30 seconds, so challenge levels will probably not get rated.
Tower descent:
There have been numerous demons around the 30 second range that have been rated, most notably tower descent which was released over a year ago. Wish more research was done in that regard

Reasons why VSC or Challenge Levels wont get rated
- Most challenge levels are below 30 seconds long
- a level that has a length of "tiny" and "short" will automatically get rated Easy (2*) due to RobTop's terrible anticheat
- some Challenge Levels are quite literally layouts
- VSC has some triggers that activate some uhmm, yeah stuff I don't wanna talk about
I'd love to see some CL levels rated if it were to be possible. I really like Apotheosis for example.
If a person who made a Challenge wants their level rated tho, they can simply extend the endscreen to match the 30 second length (APTeam ahhh method) this also worked when pocke released "Tower Descent" (Hard Demon)

the demonlist server has a channel called pending list changes which shows, well, pending list changes as well as if it will place on the main list extended list or too close to call. on there it says cobwebs will place extended list. global demonlist also has cobwebs placed at 132 however this will likely be very different on pointercrate bc of extra unrated levels being on global and a difference in accuracy of the placements between the two
Looking at the opinions of victors it's probably around top 120 on pointercrate. Highest placement I saw was around neutra (71) and lowest was knights of thunder (legacy / 160), most were in the range of 100-140.

I thought UNKNOWN would place way lower but it's still at 40, so I would assume Cobwebs would stay about 5 spots behind when placed

If i remember right (probably not cause my memory is ass) i swear cobwebs was rated for a bit of time a few years ago. idk why it got unrated, probably drama, but i swear i tried playing the newly rated hard extreme demon on my shitty laptop a bit ago. also i remember there is an evw video about cobwebs (its a level request video) where he sent cobwebs. also it should a million percent be rated imo, the deco is fire and still holds up well to this day.
I only know of this level‘s existence because it got rated so yeah more people will definitely go for it

Countless 30-second-long levels have been rated in the past; this is not new. There are even some rated 3-stars that are shorter than that.
The "minimum" length for a rated level over 2 stars has always been 30 seconds. There's even been a lot of notable levels in the 30-60 second range that've been rated since 2.0 such as CITRA (37 seconds), kowareta (49 seconds) and tower descent (30 seconds). Cobwebs likely wasn't rated because RobTop hadn't gotten around to it.
Also there are no rated levels shorter than 30 seconds that aren't Auto or 2 stars. If you search in-game for Tiny / Short levels some higher than 2 stars will appear but they only show as Tiny / Short due to a bug and are actually longer than that.

People don't realise that the minimum length for a level is 30 seconds at least to get rated. Anything below 30 seconds is not rateable and I believe that robtop simply had no clue what cobwebs was and discovered it recently so he decided, well it's rate worthy so why not.

Ive always felt that if a level is at least medium (which cobwebs is) it should have a chance to be rated. Like the lengths are in the game for a reason, why dont we use them to help set what can be rated. I do think that Medium levels should have slightly higher rate standards, but still not much higher.

Vsc is a bit of a stretch, rob literally can’t rate levels above 2 stars that are less than 30 seconds because it detects the player as a hacker, the same problem happened with Xmas adventurer, it was like easy demon and yet it got 2 stars. So unless robtop changes the anti-cheat, vsc can’t get rated.
Also, some levels need to be rated, like aquamarine, Ashley wave trials, based after based, apocalyptic trilogy, and old levels like element 11 rg, theory of darkness, and stereo demoness unerfed
vsc is short length, therefore restricting it from getting rated higher than 2 stars. also cobwebs is a medium length level, just like tower descent, while they are both 30 seconds long
you could beat cobwebs around 19 times in the time it takes to watch this video
Imma be honest, if i was Rob, first of all i would say why i rated a level this short.
About top level recognition, i think it would be funny to add a separate rate system for these kind of levels, like he already made legendary and mythic ratings for the best and most unique levels to give them a kind of aproval that the level is one of the best, so giving a special rate for the hardest levels in the game would make sense if he did it, due to the community's love and support for the verifiers and the levels.

This will forever be the shortest Demon. The only reason its rated is because of the 2 second end screen which makes it a (Medium) Length and not short.

Im not 100% but I think I remember rob saying that he didnt rate tidal wave (before it was rated) because it didnt represent the game well enough as a top 1 in his eyes. This means that he does care about the demon list at least a little. My theory here is that he did actually want to rate cobwebs, but in a similar way as tidal wave, he thought it wouldnt represent the game well enough as a top 10. Since by todays standards it probably won't even reach top 30, he rated it because it wouldn't really be representing the game anymore. At least not as much as something like tidal wave.
