Hey there! I just stopped @2:25, and you’ve probably figured this out, but for anyone who may not have caught it, the two small, double sided strops look to me like they’re for a guided sharpening system, possibly something like the “Wicked Edge”. If this gets pointed out later, I’ll have to update my reply. Notice the holes through the centers. Add on: I haven’t yet had the pleasure of working with kangaroo tail itself, as the only premade source I’m currently aware of is the Knife Grinders sight, and comes as a hanging strop. I’m almost positive you’ve brought this up before. Ultimately, I’d like to source my own and make a 3 X 12” strop. Also, it’s great Jende is making there bases thick enough to fit in stone holders, compared to the kangaroo and rolled buffalo leather strops I currently have, as that’s a very clear demonstration of “ forward thinking” and many props to Jende for taking this step. Also, I’ve never personally tried nano cloth for stropping, but every testimony I’ve heard has said it’s superior to leather, so nice work @Jende! Thank you for your videos, and please keep the quality material coming, you’re about the most advanced sharpener I’ve come across, and I appreciate your content!

I don't know if if you are aware , that the jende nano cloth, (Taiwan made) that is numbered with micron numerals, on the backside, are there be identified as an indicator of which sized emulsion is associated with that same micron nano cloth.

The owner of the company did not explain it to me that way. I spoke to him and Ken Schwartz about the product. The cloth is uniform as I am told. The purpose of the cloth is to have no abrasive contribution. You’re supposed to put your emulsion on it. It was a way of letting you know which one you’re using. I thought the same thing and I was told differently. If you see it written differently then please send me a link. The guy and I spoke for over an hour and a half in Taiwan and it cost me $400 on a phone call. I had to ask my phone provider to help me out with the cost of the phone call

@@nadm The purpose of the numbering on the plastic bases, is to let the user know that there are so many options of the diamond emulsion that Jende markets , that no one should just have one size emulsion . "That is so pedestrian ". The more the better. Is the production managers favorite quotation.

The main purpose of this specific type of manufactured nano cloth is a poor Imitation of the original Japanese manufactured nano cloth. That japanese product is made 7n multiple thicknesses as well as sturdier base , material. The ultimate nano is a type that is very flat height with which will enhance the final finish, without a curvature on the metals surface. Similar to kangaroo leather, but with better compound adhesion/ The Taiwanese made cloth is a wannabe cloth.

Jende was around and wasn;t around for years - what's the deal now? What exactly do they specialize in now, other than strops?

    • @nadm

I think they have diversified now. Their website is Quite large and extensive in all sharpening supplies. I couldn’t say that they specialize in anything other than sharpening supplies In every aspect other than natural stones.
