Both Kieran and Carmine have lots of chocolate in their rooms - Kieran's is just a bit messier with the wrappers. They both have a chocolate sweet tooth, and I think that's adorable. (Kieran really needs to water his plant tho...)

The fact it's fallen off it's little hook and he hasn't put it back up is fairly sad. Like he feels hurt from it or doesn't care. Though this was all from his sad phase. He brings up how he should clean it all up and seems embarassed about it later

I know ppl say that pokemon rivals have gotten worse, but honestly I think this is one of the best we got, has an actual personality, story arc and story relavence outside of mandatory battles
ALL the scarlet and violet rivals are amazing honestly. Nemona, Arven, Penny, Carmine, and Kieran are all fantastic characters, but Kieran has to be the best developed for sure.
Well Hop was a good rival too, and Marnie and Bede. They were the template for scarlet and violet since they're the first game to introduce actual emotions from the characters.

Nemona is a humorously battle-obsessive yandere who refuses to leave the MC alone, Penny is kinda mid but still works, Arven is by far the best/most developed character in the base game, and Kieran rivals Arven in terms of great writing. Hop failed where Kieran succeeded, Marnie is just a shy girl with too many simps, and Bede…well he was actually a jerk so at least he had SOMETHING going for him. Plus, he was kinda funny. #bedebestgen8rival I’d argue that Hau was better than Hop because at least they were self aware with how overly positive he was, and we had Gladion, a well written character, to balance him.

So it seems during his obsessive phase of strength he neglects his plant that's died, barely cooks (possibly eating in the cafateria) and mostly eating sweets on his own. I'd imagine energy drinks would be about. The bed being the only really neat thing may just mean he barely used it. It's seeing someone at their lowest point. Boy needs a hug and maybe some cooking tips. Arven get to it! Help my boy! I was honestly expecting a picture of you with darts in it. Or maybe there isn't one cause it hurt too much... Talk to him in the league clun room. There's some fun and cute interactions with him and others. No spoilers but a certain cooking enthusiast has a cute bit with him

Tbh i can relate with Kieran. He trained his ass off to become stronger. Coming up with various strategies and learning the strengths and weaknesses of each pokemon and then WE come along with our protag powers and bullshiting our way through and get everything in the process.
It's like only the player is smart enough to use EXP Candies to get their Mons up to Lv. 100 as quickly as possible. Then again, one could say that the NPCs do it the old fashioned way before things like Mints, Exp Candies, Berries, and Bottle Caps rendered making competitive-quality Pokemon trivial.
Man, Arven and Kieran should really take a page from each other's books. Arven needs to spend less time cooking and train more, & Kieran must train less and begin to cook

Which is sad, as his dialogue in the club room reveals he’s quite good with Pokémon, with Hydrapple essentially being his partner Pokemon. But eh, I just say that my character and Kieran share custody of Ogerpon and Pecharunt.

Kind of sad when you think about it. He's used to not having friends and being bullied by his overbearing sister, and then along comes this foreigner who completely stomps both him and his sister into the ground with zero effort using competitive quality Mons that may or may not all be Lv. 100 Legendaries. But this god-tier trainer, instead of being some boastful narcissist, is actually nice to him for a change and expresses a willingness to be his friend. Then his sister, who initially seemed to hate this trainer's very existence for being a foreigner, suddenly muscles in on his new friendship and basically hogs all the attention for herself. Then it turns out this new trainer saw the legendary ogre he always admired and looked up to and then overheard his sister order his new friend to lie to him, and then had his trust broken when his new friend chose to go through with it. And because, unbeknownst to him, his new friend is The Protagonist(TM), the legendary ogre turns out to be a Pokemon, and said Pokemon bonds with his friend instead of him. This foreigner basically walks in and with barely any effort gets to live out the entire life he's always wanted but never been able to have right in front of him. And no matter how hard he builds his team up, each fight he has with The Hero(TM) is always a zero-effort curbstomp against his favor, because his opponent has fully leveled, fully trained mons that are invincible against NPCs. Is it any wonder he snapped? But it only gets worse from there. No matter how much he grows, no matter how hard he trains, no matter how much sleep and self-care he sacrifices, he STILL. CAN'T. BEAT YOU. You roll into Blueberry Academy just when he thinks he's finally ready for you, and humiliate him even further by not only blowing through the Elite Four with no effort, but then completely stomping him into the dirt AGAIN, with the same sadistic ease as every other time. (because, again, you're the only character in this existence who can have fully EV-trained Lv. 100 Pokemon with perfect IVs) He breaks completely. Everything he built up towards meant nothing because he's not the Main Character(TM) of his own story. It's kind of easy to see why he has such severe self-esteem issues.
Oh so he has a Flygon poster. That someone had to make. So game freak remembers that Flygon exists. And yet he still has goddamn levitate as his ONLY ABILITY. Why the fuck does he not have Sand Stream yet?
Every 'mon that has Levitate besides the Weezing and Bronzong families do not have a second ability, as it's mostly intended for that to be their only ability. I don't see Flygon getting another ability.

Mostly cause the things people tend to point out about how a mega flygon could look talk about the wings and tail and it looks like those are circled and got notes pointing to them. I interpret the dead plant as a way of showing Ogerpon's situation would've been pretty bad if Kieran actually forced her to join him. I see a lot of people say he deserved Ogerpon, but that unhealthy obsession probably would've hurt Ogerpon a lot
Agreed. An unhealthy obsession is one of the things that make people lose love.
Perhaps Ogerpon sensed that in him. Like wild animals, I like to think Pokemon have a way of knowing about people with some kind of sixth sense.
Which is sad, as his dialogue in the club room reveals he’s quite good with Pokémon, with Hydrapple essentially being his partner Pokemon. But eh, I just say that my character and Kieran share custody of Ogerpon and Pecharunt.

So wallowing he can't bring himself to go for his crush/not seeing himself as good enough for them, he didn't get the pokemon he longed for so long... No self esteem as a pokemon trainer. He started eating mostly junk, and shoving himself into his studies & becoming stronger.
Uh- if I couldnt be with a crush in the past that's kinda what I did... Focused on the gym, and putting more time into videogames/reading or other things I love. 😅 I was older, and not so young when I had my first crush though.
I definitely obsessed about things like pokemon & pokemon battling when I was that age though-- without crushes or so much going on in my head like Kieran obviously is. 😅😅

I stumbled upon this yesterday
Kind of sad when you think about it. He's used to not having friends and being bullied by his overbearing sister, and then along comes this foreigner who completely stomps both him and his sister into the ground with zero effort using competitive quality Mons that may or may not all be Lv. 100 Legendaries. But this god-tier trainer, instead of being some boastful narcissist, is actually nice to him for a change and expresses a willingness to be his friend.
Then his sister, who initially seemed to hate this trainer's very existence for being a foreigner, suddenly muscles in on his new friendship and basically hogs all the attention for herself. Then it turns out this new trainer saw the legendary ogre he always admired and looked up to and then overheard his sister order his new friend to lie to him, and then had his trust broken when his new friend chose to go through with it. And because, unbeknownst to him, his new friend is The Protagonist(TM), the legendary ogre turns out to be a Pokemon, and said Pokemon bonds with his friend instead of him.
This foreigner basically walks in and with barely any effort gets to live out the entire life he's always wanted but never been able to have right in front of him. And no matter how hard he builds his team up, each fight he has with The Hero(TM) is always a zero-effort curbstomp against his favor, because his opponent has fully leveled, fully trained mons that are invincible against NPCs. Is it any wonder he snapped?
But it only gets worse from there. No matter how much he grows, no matter how hard he trains, no matter how much sleep and self-care he sacrifices, he STILL. CAN'T. BEAT YOU. You roll into Blueberry Academy just when he thinks he's finally ready for you, and humiliate him even further by not only blowing through the Elite Four with no effort, but then completely stomping him into the dirt AGAIN, with the same sadistic ease as every other time. (because, again, you're the only character in this existence who can have fully EV-trained Lv. 100 Pokemon with perfect IVs) He breaks completely. Everything he built up towards meant nothing because he's not the Main Character(TM) of his own story. It's kind of easy to see why he has such severe self-esteem issues.
I wish i could give him my Ogerpon and Terapagos

Every 'mon that has Levitate besides the Weezing and Bronzong families do not have a second ability, as it's mostly intended for that to be their only ability. I don't see Flygon getting another ability.
@@SilverScizor753 Game Freak has stated in several dex entries that Flygon can “whip up sandstorms with powerful flaps of its wings” it makes zero sense why it hasn’t gotten a new ability in almost 20 years. It also makes no sense why doesn’t have Sand Stream

Forget Kieran, I think you need some therapy. It’s actually quite common for people to feel sympathy, and also common for feeling like we might’ve wronged somebody we cared about. I used to think like you, believing mankind is inherently evil, but that’s actually not really the case. Humans are somewhat predispositioned to being selfish, but that’s just the natural instinct to preserve your own interests. Plus, a lot of people relate to Kieran, so it makes sense so many people care about his feelings.

Why do I feel like the flygon poster is a call out to the scrapped mega. Mostly cause the things people tend to point out about how a mega flygon could look talk about the wings and tail and it looks like those are circled and got notes pointing to them. That or it could be for some other reason entirely.
