I am glad you tried Gudeg Sagan near my Gadjah Mada university, the oldest and biggest in Indonesia.
Gudeg, is made from young Jack fruit that cooked a long time with palm sugar. The spicy element of the gudeg is krecek from cow skin

friendly reminder.. almost all the food in central java and jogja especially its surrounding like solo and magelang is sweeter than any other place so its best to measure your food intake otherwise you might get diabetes. even padang's food will be so sweet only few places have authentic tastes. as a matter of course if you only live for a couple o days at those places then you don't need to worry. stay healthy and safe to enjoy our life
Ya don't get diabetes from several weeks in Jogja tho.
Also, make sure to get sugarless tea to offset them sugar intake.

This is the place where i found cat fish is a delicious cuisine (even as Indonesian i dont have a good impression of this fish).
Gudeg Sagan is one of my favorite gudeg restaurant. It's not too sweet and also they put ayam opor for the chicken. Love it so much. And i also love you, Shaku❤️

also it would better if you use gojek to traveling around the area since "bentor(becak motor)" the thing you ride at first is sometimes can be so expensive
