- After exploring Malioboro Street in Yogyakarta, Central Java, I spontaneously explored some nearby little alleys and met friendly local people there for some chit-chat and drinking. I also met some alcoholics who asked me to buy alcohol for them.
Those gangs were really fun and I met plenty of kids and older people...and some cats 🙃

This is always happened in indonesia,you have to more be careful brother because not all can be polite to tourists and even to fellow Indonesians.

Don't drink any alcohol in the streets. They often mix it with other dangerous substances to get high. They are careless people who don't care about their own safety. One of my neighbors died after drinking and partying with his friends in the streets. True story. Many cases like that. Groups of people go to hospital or died after drinking and partying in the streets.
I saw quite few people hang around drinking alcohol on the street, even some kids or students. What I might suggest you, I'd be careful with those people drinking on the street, when they don't get what they want from you they could get aggressive and being rough. So please be careful approaching those people, you want to enjoy your visit, not being caught of that situation you don't want to happen .

and let me tell you something why kids, always laughing whenever they seen foreigner , its because of their anxiety , they happy and confused and sad at the same time , because they want to have conversation , but don't know how too , that causing their brain to lag and ended up in laughter . (mostly because they wanted to said something, probably something funny or i don't know , but it's just stop in their mind, thus then why the laughter came out) (what funny is the situation, in their they thought, like "what to do!?") this only happen to people who seek attention, but can't deliver or getting it. (and also because on their ear , foreign language is sound funny, since they cannot understand it,[cause : lack understanding toward situation and condition] they don't understand that "your language" is normal to whoever speak it.) well they're kids .
even we as a grown up still do experience it whenever we heard language that we really not familiar with . i'm a native Bahasa Indonesian speaker ,who familiar and Understand English ,bit of French ,a very little of German , familiar with Latin , familiar and known bit of Russian ,okay with Chinese , moderate so-so of Japan ,and used to be able to read Korean and still found some language from other country that i'm not familiar is weird and funny , even most of the local language other than Java Island , Bali Island , and Eastern Island (like maluku ,ambon ,and papua) , other than that i mention i still find it quite funny (because i don't understand it and find it like gibberish) . welp! English sound like Gibberish to people who don't familiar or don't understand it , most Indonesian is upset with English , they got mad (if the local can speak it , the other local who don't would most likely called them cringe) .
U must try visit to Bandung, so many local food,& kind of people too
