Pretty sure it's a gameplay reason, I mean you'll want to know that there's a sniper around otherwise you'll just feed into their Killzone.
And the scope magically the bullets more powerful.
If I remember right there was an anti-tank rifle and tripod mounted mg you could use as well.

Remember the night battle when you defend one of the ridge from Anderson airfield. I actually killed an enemy try to set up his MG and i rush took the MG as my own at set it at my position. I like how this game try to make the player think outside the box as well.

@@HappiKarafuru I used to do the same thing, I found about 4 of those playing that mission and set all of them up and later on saw my squad mates using them. Very realistic touch the developers added by putting in NPCs that actually think for themselves
dude I miss these games where you could have 4 rounds left in your rifle, but you still shove an entire clip in there like it's empty
Dude I was so close to say "DAMNIT IT'S A MAGAZINE" but I realized most rifles were, in fact, clip-fed. So we cool.

I actually don't recall ever seeing the Johnson Rifle in the campaign, must have been a Multiplayer only weapon.
It only appears once and is held by a marine at the final stage of the battle for bloody ridge mission

I love older games where graphics weren't the biggest thing at the time but having a blast was :D
At the time this was definitely one of the better looking games. It was incredibly demanding, requiring a GPU with at least Pixel Shader 1.4. And you'd get a visual treat if you had PS 2.0. Not a lot of video cards had it back then, but it was slowly making its way to mid and low end cards.

Kacpa2 it wasn’t a good combat weapon, the early stages of Guadalcanal was pretty much it’s only use.
@@itsconnorstime it actually was a good weapon but the Marine Corps had an issue with it's part interchangeability and got rid of it. That was it's only issue. The Marine Corp at the time didnt have the funding to procure the proper ratio of guns to perfect replacement parts and just gave up on it. Good gun, but just not the gun the Marine Corps needed.

The Thompson proved more reliable which is to be expected it was a much more robust firearm and it wasn’t as .The Riesing was better suited for police at the time.

Mission was pretty easy. Only took me an hour first try to finish it. And after that I replayed it and it took me half an hour with no deaths.

@@cumshitman0420 It's likely harder on people that are inexperienced with flying, I've even had issues flying the plane at first, crashing into other planes, crashing into the ground, crashing into the ocean, crashing into ships, etc. But the most difficult thing about the level is when you get access to the bombs and torpedo... they barely do ANY worthwhile damage to the Carrier and Destroyer you attack, I've literally did more damage in a more consistent manner just shooting it with the damn machine guns.

Wow, the animators messed up the Nambu. The reload makes it seem like they just made the magazine vanish. at 0:52 they have part of the magazine dropped and the mag still in the gun. They probably thought nobody would notice. Not like it was spring loaded.
Apparently the M55 has a bolt catch... which it doesn't have (I had to watch Forgotten Weapons to realize the charging handle is under the barrel in the grip, thanks Ian!)
No, you don't slide the handle of the Garand forward, it slides forward when pressure is put on the clip when fed.
On the M1 Carbine, I don't believe the magazine falls - I believe it's plucked with a stub on it. Also, I'm now noticing that the magazines disappear very quickly like they're made of styrofoam.
He fed the clip guide into the weapon... so now the firing pin can't strike the bullets. But it works because videogame.
5:25 JAPANESE AUTOMATIC FLIPUP SIGHTS. They were high tech even back then! (not really complaint, but animators probably too lazy to model player flipping up sights)
I understand it's a video game, but older Medal of Honor games like Allied Assault had more authentic reload animations (they have their own wonkiness too), and for a game that was modelled on historical realism, it just seems odd to see odd quirks like this. Very likely the designers never held any of these weapons to get the sense of how they worked.
By the way, aren't the flip up sights for those Japanese guns Anti-aircraft sights. That's what I learned anyway.
+Captain Corde no. All military rifles of that era had flip up volley or tangent stile sights to shoot in indirect fire mimicking artillery. (Tactic never used)

The Japanese had folding arms on the sight that would fold down when you flipped the sight up. And you used them to judge distance and lead the aircraft
You're correct about everything else, but lemme stop you on the M1 Garand. Having a M1 Garand and shot it, I placed in the clip, expecting the charging handle to come forward after I put the clip in, but it doesn't for some weird reason (most likely due to age). Both the automatic bolt slamming and the user slapping the bolt forward are correct reloads, with the former for newer model M1 Garands, and the latter for older M1 Garands.
(Also, I think the animators also goofed the Nambu's magazine detaching. I think the Nambu's operator is supposed to pinch on the bottom part of the magazine, then remove it, rather than drop it by using a mag catch to detach it like any other pistol).
Can confirm with the M1 Garand, I have to give the op rod a tap to make the bolt slide forward, sometime it closes by itself but not all the time. However the mag usually falls away from the M1 Carby, Source: I own an M1 Carbine
They even cock the rifles and pistols after reloading a partial clip. Except for bolt action rifles. Because that's accurate.

Logan Legrand That's actually how you charge the gun in real life. The guy should be holding the Reising by the magazine since the bottom part moves when you shoot.
Yeah, learned after watching the vid that there was a release there. I just found it quirky that he basically taps the wood on the gun when loading, is all.
The charging handle is on the action bar up underneath the fore end of the stock. We tried :)
His thumb looked like he's pressing a button but his index finger was pulling the bolt underneath

+Ben Barnes I think this was a very good game when it was released but, after 12 years this game isn't so fantastic anymore. The campaign is interesting, weapons have good animations for that time, the story is ok so if you want to play this game, it will not be a waste of time.

Thanks for the reply, like I said I don't have a PC so I can't play it but I'm glad it's a good game, when I was young I grew up with some of the Medal of Honor games, I've played:
MOH: Frontline
MOH: European Assault
MOH: Rising Sun
MOH: Vanguard
MOH: Airborne
MOH 2010
I remember the intensity and challenge of European Assault and Frontline, Rising Sun was pretty good too, Vanguard almost looks like European assault with similar graphics and weapon animations, but it was still worth the play and kept the MOH feel. Airborne was short but pretty sweet, especially with its weapon upgrades, MOH 2010 was okay, I don't have as much as a distinct for it as some others but I can see why people would, that being said I thought it was worth at least one playthrough. Overall the MOH games were classics, period. What do you think?

Ugh, Reising, BAR, and Remington Model 11/ Browning auto 5 shotgun. The most hated gun trio in this game. I always tossed them away and preferred to fight armed with a NambuType 100 when posibble or even Arisaka rifle. At least ammo was all around.

Browning light machine guns. It is usable only when the Marine that has it at Edson's Ridge is killed so you can swap it for one of your current guns (you can kill him yourself using explosives). The only other way to get it is from Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault Director's Edition or via developer console commands"

Alternative BCW Vonderheart flow of the story, characters, logic, and ethical side of the game. World at war have none of above. If you consider video games just picking a gun and shooting people you don't know, then every other game will be meaningless for you. world at war is the most illogical, unethical and meaningless game Ive ever played. I look for respect, art, story and talent in a video game. Not just tearing people to half with machine guns you can't carry in real life. Also keep in mind that the Pacific assault is more older than world at war, also you had the same or worse situation with all the call of duties before it.

Half of these weapons existed in World War 1. The Springfield was released in 1903 (hence M1903 Springfield), the The G98 existed in 1898, but was replaced in 1935 by the K98k (K standing for 'Karabiner', Carbine in English, and the small k standing for 'kurz' - 'short'. The 1911 was fielded in WW1 (badass old gun is badass), and the M1917 was there as well. The Browning was used too. The Auto 11 was made in 1905 so it could potentially appear.
Look up Verdun. Any weapons used in that game are likely to be in Battlefield 1. But don't put the Ross rifle in. Fuck the Ross rifle.

It was notorious for jamming constantly. Canadian soldiers frequently tossed it for Lee-Enfields or even G98. Iconic, but horribly designed for trench warfare.

The spread of bullet, will surely make you hate it, even B.A.R doesn't attach on bayonet and only 20 rounds, so that is why you don't like it, but it's as supporting and acting as battle rifle

Actually the M1917 was manufactured by Colt and Smith & Wesson but the S&W model was more popular.
Problem with this game: scripted enemy spawns and limited level design. The levels seem big and in a better game, you could make use of the folliage to coordinate different attacks everytime. But it's way too scripted. It's a decent game, but that's a major flaw.

Springfield 1903 is just reverse engineered K98 actually with some unique design features.
