Meet the Bags Packed Family: Jonathan and Kelly, along with our three adventurous children. Nine years ago, we embarked on an incredible journey, leaving our home in Alaska, USA, behind to explore the world. As teachers, we were fortunate to find amazing opportunities in Chennai, India, where we spent two enriching years. Seeking new experiences, we then made our way to the United Arab Emirates.
Just as we were settling into our UAE life, the pandemic struck, but it didn't dampen our spirits. Instead, we saw it as an opportunity for another chapter in our journey. We moved to Indonesia, where we currently hold teaching jobs, and it has been a time of learning, growth, and connection.
As a family, we thrive on traveling and embracing the unknown. Adventures are our way of life, and through our experiences, we aim to inspire our children to be confident in meeting new people, trying diverse cuisines, and immersing themselves in different languages and cultures.

Jonathan and Kelly are superhuman indeed because of how patient they are. I love how they always ask the kids how they feel and their opinions about anything. They always listen and respond when Forest talks, even when he's just a baby and sometimes mumbling words. It always amazes me how strong they are, traveling and vlogging with three children, and they never complain when Forest wants to be held. Granite and Cedar are beautiful and smart kids. I see that they are more emotionally stable than most adults I know. They are also very humble with strangers and very open to different cultures. They seem to always take care of each other. Last but not least, Mr. Wobbly Legs, aka the kerupuk lover, is very cute. His smile and thumbs up when trying a meal always brighten my day. He's still a baby, but I see that he's compassionate and always finds a way to enjoy the day, even when he's tired.
I know your kids are going to appreciate what you've taught them and the time you've spent with them. I wish your family the best health and many more great adventures ahead.
it's very rare to find such an extensive travel review of cities outside Bali from western travellers.Indonesia have so much to explore than Bali or Jakarta.Alot of other smaller cities in Java are also worth a visit like Malang,Semarang,Solo or Bandung just to name a fews.Great content

amazing great family. Jnathan is very good at managing the children to stay relaxed and calm, Kelly always smiles kindly while nurturing and spoiling the children. Chicken or goat satay is a characteristic of Indonesian folk cuisine, served with sliced shallots, hot chilies, sometimes sliced tomatoes and sweet soy sauce with an extraordinary delicious final taste. sate gule served with melted coconut milk, garlic and red onions etc. wow, that's really great, delicious.❤

If you had a plans to go to Sleman-Jogja, you can come to resto “Jejamuran”. Jamur means mushroom. So almost all the dishes are made from various of mushroom, like mushroom satay, mushroom katsu, mushroom soup, grilled mushroom, omelette mushroom, and many others.
Cause when you guys are looking for food, Kelly was the most difficult to get vegetarian menu 😅 So I think she would like “Jejamuran” dishes so much

There are many typical Jogja foods that must be tried. Gudeg, Brongkos, Bakpia Pathuk, Soto Ayam.....😁😁
Bakpiaku is more delicious than bakpia pathok
Jogja and the eastern part of Jawa island is all about SWEET FOOD.
Soo actually, not everyone's taste. I also dont like my food too sweet. Some gudeg for example, too sweet.
Their fried noodle and fried rice also more in the sweet side than the salty side..

I highly recomend to "JEJAMURAN", Jl Pendowoharjo, Niron Sleman., Yogya Guaranty Kelly will really love it cause 100% all vegetarian Mushroom, but tase like meat, fish etc but all vegetarian mushroom. 😍Big place and nice vibe place .

Tenkleng is aromatic light curry of the bones from the mutton, I’m from Solo( Surakarta )love the bone marrow / ribs in tenkleng. Love to see you enjoying Javanese culinary !The crispy stuff is similar to pork belly!

guys, if you drink es jeruk, make sure you mix it, stir it. some resto they add sugar on the bottom of the glash, thats why its so sweet
