    3:40 Breaks my heart to hear that. I wish more people were like you and took care of these older vehicles that are actually unique. The design is just so different and eye-catching, and I love the looks and overall appearance of the vehicle.

      Was a really cool vehicle but when I got it, it needed probably 3x it's value in parts let alone labor. We rebuilt the trans in my driveway.
      Sadly, it was not meant to be, as I had constant troubles getting it registered and it had an electrical issue that caused it to randomly blow it's security system fuse and not start for several days at a time

      @@AiOinc1 It seems like these vans always have some sort of electrical problem with them. Everyone I talked to mentioned some odd electrical problem with their van and I believe I've heard of that happening before on these. Probably got bad connections or corroded wiring, wasn't meant to be I guess. These are near impossible to find in my area at least where they put salt on the roads.

    This is just about the same model of van that my family had when I was a little kid except it was dark green. Memories.

      Emerald green seems to be a pretty common color for these

    You did a great thing by grabbing it from the junkyard. It would be a shame to scrap this van, since it looks like it’s still got some life left in it.

    Where did you get that diagnostic device? Nice car you got here. Bought a 3rd generation 1998 Chrysler Grand Voyager minivan. It came from Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦 and that vehicle, along with mine, was built in Windsor, Ontario. My has the dual cassette and CD player. I drove it from Toronto to San Francisco. Driving through Ontario, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada, and California. I did buy CDs 💿 for the drive back. I have Michael Bublé, Alanah Myles, Glass Tiger, Céline Dion, Gordon Lightfoot, Bryan Adams, Diana Krall, Anne Murray, and the Guess Who.

    I just bought a well maintained 1991 Grand Voyager SE for $1200. Cad a few days ago. Needs some rear fender bodywork and general repaint but has new brakes, exhaust

      Nice, this is already completely gone, though. We did basically all of the electronics and most of a transmission before I gave up on it.

    Also , mine needs a new headliner but mechanically, it is great. Has the 3.3 V6 with a newer style Chrysler transmission in it. Runs and drives great!

      Newer style? Should always be an Ultradrive paired with the EGA/EGH.

    Does yours go into limp mode as well? You said tranny issues I have the exact same model and year and that’s the only one I’ve really had.

    • @AiOinc1
      @AiOinc1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It did when the transmission was broken. I replaced the TCM, EATX Relay, all the sensors, and the solenoid pack and changed the fluid and filter. It's back to working and on to the next owner.

      They are selling to me a dodge caravan from those years which are the same vans technically. I esa wondering if they do get transmission problems frequently like the newer modela from 2000 up. Please reply thanks in advance.

    700$ is all its worth ive hear story of the trans going out at 45k

    • @AiOinc1
      @AiOinc1 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      700 was a bargain. The 41TE is a great transmission if you take care of it. Most people never change the fluid once and put the wrong fluid in. The owner's manual says you can use Dex III in a bind, but that it MUST be drained immediately afterwards. You CANNOT run Dexron III in these transmissions, it will dissolve the clutch backs. ATF+2/+3/+4 has always been a bit pricier, and so owners at the time doing their own maintenance wound up putting Dex III in for cost concerns, which would destroy the transmissions almost overnight and not be covered by warranty, leading to many of the horror stories you've likely heard regarding this trans.
      This van had well over 200k miles on it's original transmission and all it needed was electrical work.
