The worst thing about P-1 is not actually having to beat Minos Prime. The worst is the dawning realization after you beat him, that there will be a P-2 and P-3 in the future that will probably be even harder.

Bro that was awesome. When I first fought Minos Prime, it took me 327 restarts. Now I can P rank him. It is amazing how much the fight teaches you to perfect your movement
I managed to do it in 51, but I sure as hell didn't P-Rank minos I went full turtle mode for that fight and unequipped everything but the Feedbacker and the Coin Slab Focused completely on avoiding attacks, and just constantly did regular shots and punching

I’m glad I’m not the only person who really admires the voice acting for Minos Prime. It’s way too good for a secret boss most people won’t even encounter.
Honestly the best way I could think to add fair challenge is more attacks, since you already have to practically memorize his attacks on violence's speed
some friend of mine tried the "Ultrakill must die" difficulty with some program and it seems it just adds more hard damage, but yeah it's not completely developed so well there's that
@@ReimersLeDumb probably because that difficulty won't be officially worked on until the game is done, so hakita will have some idea of how to make the game castrate your bodily fluids harder ...or something like that, i only heard this from that one dev stream
After you keep fighting Minos Prime, you just get a sixth sense for when a golden snake is coming. I don't know, it's just the vibe. You just _feel_ when it's going to happen even when you aren't far away.
P ranking V-2, beating him in under 40 seconds made me feel like a god. That feeling quickly diminished when I started P-Ranked Minos. (I did it though, was so satisfyingy)
Recently did all levels P rank and all secret orbs, and let me tell you it was a TON of fun. my suggestions for future ultrakill content is to either get all the secret orbs, or even better, get to like wave 50 or 100 on the endless grind. Keep up the good work dude!

I know it's too late for you at the moment, but maybe tips for others planning to defeat pinos: - Use rail-coin double or triple penetration at the very start, the moment when he just walks to you and you can pull it off (throwing a coin through enemy and then shooting electric rail at it, piercing enemy and then the shot returns piercing him again) - Later it's easier to rely on railcoining him than aiming rail yourself - you'll miss a lot less with coins - Alt revolver piercer shots is very OP and while learning his movements I did 90% of damage once without switching a gun even, also piercer shot at point-blank refills a lot of health - Simple coin shot is also very useful because you can hit him while he's off screen Overall, when you really just started and feel overwhelmed, try to have few tries without trying to damage him and focus on staying alive as long as possible, while mostly not attacking back - helps you learn his movesets, windows for healing etc.
Also if you parry his yellow snake projectile it gives you a full heal, it says this in the terminal log about him along with some other tips. I also recommend just trying to stay on the ground during the fight.

would a railcannon shot have killed it though..? flesh prison takes less damage from railcannon shots, and during the heal the damage it takes from all sources is reduced drastically.
this was so frustrating watching since its almost impossible beating him without learning to parry regularly or learning his voice cues. although it was messy, huge respect for ya there man. i never usually enjoy watching other ppl play ultrakill but this was exceptional for me. so thanks for the good content, keep it up.
He's definitely easier with parrying and I used parrying to P-rank him, but yeah I didn't quite get the timing on this first run through. Crazy to say I wasn't using the voice cues though, that was one of the first things I started paying attention to when he was kicking my ass at first.
A lot of fun seeing your journey through this game! I felt your struggle on this level--my first time on P-1, I had 197 restarts, and it took me 97 and a half minutes. In the last week or two, I finally got P rank on P-1, after *four months* of trying off and on. Always fun seeing someone enjoy this game. And yes, Dusk is really good. I've only played act one as of yet, but it's a lot of fun. I may only have found you through the egregious amount of ULTRAKILL content I consume, but I look forward to seeing what you do in the future.
Oddly, the best strategy I stumbled upon for Minos Prime is relentlessly hounding him while spamming pistol shots and punching as fast as possible. His damage couldn’t keep up with the healing factor.
Honestly the game was so enjoyable that I had p-ranked through it several times before the p-1 level was even added. There’s so much hidden depth to the game and it is so rewarding to just shit on every boss once you get your bearings. One of my favorites, if not my absolute most favorite game. It is very impressive especially considering how small the dev team is.
Honestly? I never want to get to the point where i can just dekete bosses from existence, for me the main reason this game is fun is beavuse its difficult, so just learning all those game braking "1 second gabriel speedrun!1!1!1!" Mechanics just seem unappealing

@@DumpsterManTV the coin has a priority system for what it will ricochet to, coin > grenade > enemy > glass. V2 used core eject (the normal shotgun's alt fire) which is a grenade and in that moment your coin did a ricochet to it. When a core eject is shot with a hitscan weapon (the revolvers or the rail cannon, the red railcannon causes an even bigger and stronger explosion) or a coin it does a red explosion which does more damage than a regular impact

the scary part is that P ranking Minos turned ULTRAKILL into an addiction for me, this fight is so immensely fun when you actually master it to the point where you just start craving more challenge also tried beating it arms-only for a P rank and always was off by like 10 seconds, you need to land perfect projectile parries to actually get in time (it's also a great learning experience since shotgun parrying does so much fucking damage it's insane) tl;dr this fight is way too good
Style is easier to increase by swapping weapons often. Also, sliding grants a multiplier for your style that decays over time but just sliding for distance here and there is effective for gaining style, especially in boss fights. I also struggled on finding the one or two enemy spawns I missed on some levels lol
Minos Prime is the best boss fight I've ever played in a video game. When you first meet him he feels like the most unstoppable unbeatable force you've ever seen that's basically playing god mode while you're a mere speck. However the more you play against him, you begin to realize how fair and telegraphed his attacks actually are and before you know it you're well on your way to P-Ranking him. It's the most satisfying feeling to finally pull off the P rank on Minos Prime.

Dude, the journey of actually P ranking the first chapter of Ultrakill was some of the most fun I have ever had in a game I didn't realize it was possible to get that good at a game
Funnily enough, Pinos didn't piss me off nearly as much as Flesh Prison did. A hyper-mobile human sized target who loves spamming fisticuffs, divekicks, and snake hadoukens and does loads of damage was acceptable, but the instant I saw that damned bullet hell polygon heal off his minions, I hit my rage breaking point. I'm the only one allowed to heal in this game, dammit! Also: *_CRRRRUSH!_*
I killed minos after 135 atempt. And i must say that i never felt frustrated. There was no attack that i could not doge or parry, and i absolutly love this boss fight. I hope that the new bosses are like this If i misspelled something wrong im sorry i am italian
Interesting perspective... I never really had that much trouble with Flesh Prison, going in completely blind I didn't know what to expect but as soon as I figured out how it works I got through it pretty quick... Minos, for me, was way harder.
the level that almost broke me was the halls of sacred realm, it was so demanding to p-rank and i kept missing some enemies (i didn't know you could have a little gui that says if you have killed all enemies).
This boss is difficult but..... One day which I played quietly I dedicated myself to fighting against the boss minos prime to play only, I have not died any you see that moment and I get perfect out of nowhere.
9:26 Had this exact same scenario happen to me, the guy I missed was a street cleaner that somehow managed to get himself stuck on a light pole in the first arena.
The key to P-ranking stages is to get good at hitting coins and slide a lot. Sliding increase the style multiplier so that and shooting out the railcannon against large groups makes getting S rank pretty managable.
A tip for aspiring Pinos Punishers: use the Sawblade Launcher to make a saw trap around where he spawns. Also use the freeze frame rocket launcher to freeze some rockets and unfreeze them to blow him up. Parry the snakes whenever you can, and DO NOT use Whiplash while there is a snake projectile in the room.
Hey just wanted to give a quick tip. If you change shotgun modes after firing a shot and keep doing it in between shots it lets you fire much faster. Love watching someone try and fight Minos Prime for the first time

my best advice to those struggling with prime souls is to just play for a few dozen minutes, then rest. I was struggling wig sisyphus when i first played p-2 (over 400 deaths), but i just slept, came back the next day and beat him in little under 10. I was intending on practicing minos for a few hours as an appetizer before taking on sisyphus again, but quickly found that my muscle memory had quickly sharpened after my first (and at that time last) time fighting him, as did my muscle memory with sisyphus. TL;DR get rest, muscle memory will develop. edit: learning the voice lines, too
For anyone currently struggling with this boss, you should know: You can parry the golden projectile, and a successful parry fully restores your health
heres a tip for minos i found out that might help a lot if you wanna grind him a little. whenever hes about to use his "prepare thy self" or "thy end is now": if you time it correctly (not that hard tbh) you can slide out of the way to the left or right, if you can also get the timing down to parry his snake at the end of "prepare thy self" you can get hp back as well as maybe dmg him. whenever he does "die" its a good idea to do a dash in some kind of direction right before he slams down to the ground, it can help minimize dmg. also during the "thy end is now" at the end while hes doing his little ground rip thingy, you can get hp back by using the screw railcannon or somthign that causes alot of blod (like nailgun) you also have to get some timing down for judgement kick (i still struggle) but trying to dash out of the way works a good amount of the time, just hard to get it correctly also try to stay in the air as little as possible, he does some pretty op air attacks there's also somthing i use as a crutch in most bossbattles, which is the screw cannon, normaly i have the normal railcannon unequiped and use the malicious or screw, but for bosses i know i'm going into i equip only the screw, since it does dmg and can heal you for playing stupid close to the boss when you probably shouldn't lol. i know some of these where done in the video (though not consistantly) just trying to give some advice since i may not be good at ultrakill myself, i just remember how hard minos was and how grinding him taught me some good mechanics to crutch on
I started my journey to minos two days ago and i am happy to say ,today i achieved my victory and man the taste of victory after fighting flesh prison for nearly an hour was worth it (Not kidding flesh prison was harder than minos for me)
According to the wiki, the secret boss is so hard that people have had literal nightmares about that fight. The boss isn’t creepy or scary, it’s just that hard. I beat him recently, and it took over 228 attempts to do so. Also it injured my thumb.
The mark of a good boss, nightmares, physical pain, the works. I felt sick to my stomach after fighting the Orphan of Kos in Bloodborne for several hours straight just from the stress lol.

Fighting Minos is probably the most fun I've had with the game so far. It took me 50 restarts before I finally did him in. Unfortunately I don't have the time nor will to P-rank everything so I DID download a save lol, but I fought Minos fairly so that counts right?
Beating Minos at all is a huge accomplishment that you should be proud of! I definitely recommend trying for the P-rank as it is very rewarding but even if you don't beating Minos at all makes you a certified gamer chad.
I kinda want a version of ultrakill with super highly realistic graphics (not dissing on the style. It certainly gives the game character). I think this fight would look so damn cool.
i know its late but the best tip for minos prime is just stay on the ground as much as you can, he doesnt do the "CRUSH" attack at all if you stick to the ground and the "DIE" attack happens way less often and he mostly spams his ground combo things which you can easily slide away from, or "JUDGEMENT" which is parry-able and far less difficult and annoying to avoid.
This boss makes you feel like you're the cannon fodder in the Dragon Ball Z universe, just some low tier goon fighting a super saiyan god over and over.
its funny that i am better at this game just by being able to move well and using weapons correctly - my aim is literally 3 times worse than yours. i hit coins because i feel their trajectory, not because i can actually aim at them)))
I be playin Aimlabs in Ultrakill basically. But yeah, I was careful not to spoil too much before I finished everything so I only fairly recently learned a lot of movement tech and stuff like that. The footage at the very end of the video is from just last night, and I feel shows how much I've improved even since doing P-ranks and fighting Minos, I'm still not amazing but playing off stream has made me quite a bit better. If you read the info text on the standard green enemies, it’ll tell you that the size of the husk left by a dead person is correspondent to their power, which means the average dude turns into a green guy… now look at the corpse of king Minos, yeah, it’s a pretty oh shit moment when you put those together, right before he says “die” and delivers an exploding dropkick to your face
Big tips for anyone trying to beat minos, coming from someone who p ranked him: 1. Dont jump. just fucking dont jump. 2. Strafe around as much as you can during Thy end is now, and Prepare Thyself 3. Speaking about that, Parry it alongside the seeking snake and judgement, Dash away at the last second or at the same time you parry him, incase he still pulls off the attack, and DO NOT, and i beg you, DO NOT, try to go for parries on phase 2 on violent or above.
When I got to this level I was thinking, “Glad this a secret level. Don’t need to P rank it, just beat it. Then when I fell down the elevator I saw the regular scoring system. No thanks. I know I P ranked every level to get here, but I’d rather not burn all of Minos’ voice lines permanently into my brain.
Watching Dumpster Man get point blanked by a snake and out of lack of knowledge refuse to try and parry the attack gets obliterated is one of the most infuriating and funny things I've ever seen. Was an amazing video to watch, my first time killing Minos took me 2 hours and about 100 attempts, glad to say I P-ranked it now. The Dumpster shall rise again
what's ironic is that Minos prime's "thy end is now" and " prepare thy self" can be easily dodged by keeping Minos in your field of vision and strafing sideways.
P- ranking bosses is super easy. Normal levels are a problem. Idk what I'm doing wrong, maybe somehow taking too much damage, but I can't P-rank any of them to save my life- I keep getting A in style. Tip: parrying Corpse of Minos gives a ton of style

You can actually do a quad rail coin on pinos if you time the throws right, deletes like a third of his hp

Took me about 100 attempts on violent and 20 minutes (very aggressive play style)
Is it cheating if i already knew what his attacks were before going into the boss fight? Took me like 13 or 12 tries (including flesh prison)
Took me like 62 tries.
55 attempts for me on standard, i skipped flesh prison with major assists because fuck flesh prison.
Well, i rage quitted during mimos prime fight not knowing that i will have to fight flesh prison again...so yeah

on my run I switched to the red arm and shotgunned him/pummeled him at close range whenever I needed health, super good for fast healing

Honestly the game was so enjoyable that I had p-ranked through it several times before the p-1 level was even added. There’s so much hidden depth to the game and it is so rewarding to just shit on every boss once you get your bearings. One of my favorites, if not my absolute most favorite game. It is very impressive especially considering how small the dev team is.
Honestly? I never want to get to the point where i can just dekete bosses from existence, for me the main reason this game is fun is beavuse its difficult, so just learning all those game braking "1 second gabriel speedrun!1!1!1!" Mechanics just seem unappealing

What's the story with this? I see what you're talking about now after rewatching but is this like rare, or something I unknowingly did? I didn't think much of it in the moment.
@@DumpsterManTV the coin has a priority system for what it will ricochet to, coin > grenade > enemy > glass. V2 used core eject (the normal shotgun's alt fire) which is a grenade and in that moment your coin did a ricochet to it. When a core eject is shot with a hitscan weapon (the revolvers or the rail cannon, the red railcannon causes an even bigger and stronger explosion) or a coin it does a red explosion which does more damage than a regular impact
oooh also, you can hit an airborne grenade with the red railcannon for maximum ultrakilling... just don't stand too close
I like how with all the other bosses there’s some kind of weapon or gimmick that really sets them apart but Minos prime is just ready to throw hands

I fuckin love that "AUGH AUGH AUGH AUGH" sound flesh prison makes when it heals, so utterly unnatural and yet sounds painfully human
the scary part is that P ranking Minos turned ULTRAKILL into an addiction for me, this fight is so immensely fun when you actually master it to the point where you just start craving more challenge
also tried beating it arms-only for a P rank and always was off by like 10 seconds, you need to land perfect projectile parries to actually get in time (it's also a great learning experience since shotgun parrying does so much fucking damage it's insane)
tl;dr this fight is way too good

Style is easier to increase by swapping weapons often. Also, sliding grants a multiplier for your style that decays over time but just sliding for distance here and there is effective for gaining style, especially in boss fights. I also struggled on finding the one or two enemy spawns I missed on some levels lol
im watching this now and you've improved a lot. i'm genuinely suprised you defeated Minos without parrying him
Minos Prime is the best boss fight I've ever played in a video game. When you first meet him he feels like the most unstoppable unbeatable force you've ever seen that's basically playing god mode while you're a mere speck.
However the more you play against him, you begin to realize how fair and telegraphed his attacks actually are and before you know it you're well on your way to P-Ranking him. It's the most satisfying feeling to finally pull off the P rank on Minos Prime.
Man I wish I could participate in your streams, it sounds like a lot of fun, but they start at like 2am for me. Anyways I'm happy you enjoyed and are still enjoying the game

Dude, the journey of actually P ranking the first chapter of Ultrakill was some of the most fun I have ever had in a game

The scariest part is Minos Prime is just the soul of a human king determined due to the love of humanity he bared.
Funnily enough, Pinos didn't piss me off nearly as much as Flesh Prison did. A hyper-mobile human sized target who loves spamming fisticuffs, divekicks, and snake hadoukens and does loads of damage was acceptable, but the instant I saw that damned bullet hell polygon heal off his minions, I hit my rage breaking point. I'm the only one allowed to heal in this game, dammit!

I killed minos after 135 atempt. And i must say that i never felt frustrated. There was no attack that i could not doge or parry, and i absolutly love this boss fight. I hope that the new bosses are like this

Interesting perspective... I never really had that much trouble with Flesh Prison, going in completely blind I didn't know what to expect but as soon as I figured out how it works I got through it pretty quick... Minos, for me, was way harder.

the level that almost broke me was the halls of sacred realm, it was so demanding to p-rank and i kept missing some enemies (i didn't know you could have a little gui that says if you have killed all enemies).
This boss is difficult but..... One day which I played quietly I dedicated myself to fighting against the boss minos prime to play only, I have not died any you see that moment and I get perfect out of nowhere.
And that for me the boss has not been easy for me to fight against the, I just played for yes and get perfect
9:26 Had this exact same scenario happen to me, the guy I missed was a street cleaner that somehow managed to get himself stuck on a light pole in the first arena.
minos prime is the only video game boss who says "DIE!" and just removes you from this mortal plain
The key to P-ranking stages is to get good at hitting coins and slide a lot. Sliding increase the style multiplier so that and shooting out the railcannon against large groups makes getting S rank pretty managable.
I thought this guy had around hundred thousand of subs or so, only to find out just 740.

A tip for aspiring Pinos Punishers: use the Sawblade Launcher to make a saw trap around where he spawns. Also use the freeze frame rocket launcher to freeze some rockets and unfreeze them to blow him up. Parry the snakes whenever you can, and DO NOT use Whiplash while there is a snake projectile in the room.

Hey just wanted to give a quick tip. If you change shotgun modes after firing a shot and keep doing it in between shots it lets you fire much faster. Love watching someone try and fight Minos Prime for the first time
i find any boss in any game saying “die!” and the player instantly dying extremely comical

my best advice to those struggling with prime souls is to just play for a few dozen minutes, then rest. I was struggling wig sisyphus when i first played p-2 (over 400 deaths), but i just slept, came back the next day and beat him in little under 10.
I was intending on practicing minos for a few hours as an appetizer before taking on sisyphus again, but quickly found that my muscle memory had quickly sharpened after my first (and at that time last) time fighting him, as did my muscle memory with sisyphus.
TL;DR get rest, muscle memory will develop.

For anyone currently struggling with this boss, you should know:
You can parry the golden projectile, and a successful parry fully restores your health
Love how pinos says " *DIE* " and you actually die
heres a tip for minos i found out that might help a lot if you wanna grind him a little. whenever hes about to use his "prepare thy self" or "thy end is now": if you time it correctly (not that hard tbh) you can slide out of the way to the left or right, if you can also get the timing down to parry his snake at the end of "prepare thy self" you can get hp back as well as maybe dmg him.
whenever he does "die" its a good idea to do a dash in some kind of direction right before he slams down to the ground, it can help minimize dmg.
also during the "thy end is now" at the end while hes doing his little ground rip thingy, you can get hp back by using the screw railcannon or somthign that causes alot of blod (like nailgun)
you also have to get some timing down for judgement kick (i still struggle) but trying to dash out of the way works a good amount of the time, just hard to get it correctly
also try to stay in the air as little as possible, he does some pretty op air attacks
there's also somthing i use as a crutch in most bossbattles, which is the screw cannon, normaly i have the normal railcannon unequiped and use the malicious or screw, but for bosses i know i'm going into i equip only the screw, since it does dmg and can heal you for playing stupid close to the boss when you probably shouldn't lol.
i know some of these where done in the video (though not consistantly) just trying to give some advice since i may not be good at ultrakill myself, i just remember how hard minos was and how grinding him taught me some good mechanics to crutch on
I started my journey to minos two days ago and i am happy to say ,today i achieved my victory and man the taste of victory after fighting flesh prison for nearly an hour was worth it
(Not kidding flesh prison was harder than minos for me)
in one of his attacks Minos prime says "Die!" this is a very subtle nod to the fact that he will kill you, this is best sampled on violent mode

According to the wiki, the secret boss is so hard that people have had literal nightmares about that fight. The boss isn’t creepy or scary, it’s just that hard.
I beat him recently, and it took over 228 attempts to do so. Also it injured my thumb.
The mark of a good boss, nightmares, physical pain, the works. I felt sick to my stomach after fighting the Orphan of Kos in Bloodborne for several hours straight just from the stress lol.

Fighting Minos is probably the most fun I've had with the game so far. It took me 50 restarts before I finally did him in. Unfortunately I don't have the time nor will to P-rank everything so I DID download a save lol, but I fought Minos fairly so that counts right?
Beating Minos at all is a huge accomplishment that you should be proud of! I definitely recommend trying for the P-rank as it is very rewarding but even if you don't beating Minos at all makes you a certified gamer chad.

i know its late but the best tip for minos prime is just stay on the ground as much as you can, he doesnt do the "CRUSH" attack at all if you stick to the ground and the "DIE" attack happens way less often and he mostly spams his ground combo things which you can easily slide away from, or "JUDGEMENT" which is parry-able and far less difficult and annoying to avoid.

This boss makes you feel like you're the cannon fodder in the Dragon Ball Z universe, just some low tier goon fighting a super saiyan god over and over.

its funny that i am better at this game just by being able to move well and using weapons correctly - my aim is literally 3 times worse than yours. i hit coins because i feel their trajectory, not because i can actually aim at them)))
I be playin Aimlabs in Ultrakill basically. But yeah, I was careful not to spoil too much before I finished everything so I only fairly recently learned a lot of movement tech and stuff like that. The footage at the very end of the video is from just last night, and I feel shows how much I've improved even since doing P-ranks and fighting Minos, I'm still not amazing but playing off stream has made me quite a bit better. If you read the info text on the standard green enemies, it’ll tell you that the size of the husk left by a dead person is correspondent to their power, which means the average dude turns into a green guy… now look at the corpse of king Minos, yeah, it’s a pretty oh shit moment when you put those together, right before he says “die” and delivers an exploding dropkick to your face

You can also use the dashing to get through the shock wave and parry the yellow orb with your blue arm

Big tips for anyone trying to beat minos, coming from someone who p ranked him:
1. Dont jump. just fucking dont jump.
2. Strafe around as much as you can during Thy end is now, and Prepare Thyself
3. Speaking about that, Parry it alongside the seeking snake and judgement, Dash away at the last second or at the same time you parry him, incase he still pulls off the attack, and DO NOT, and i beg you, DO NOT, try to go for parries on phase 2 on violent or above.
When I got to this level I was thinking, “Glad this a secret level. Don’t need to P rank it, just beat it. Then when I fell down the elevator I saw the regular scoring system. No thanks. I know I P ranked every level to get here, but I’d rather not burn all of Minos’ voice lines permanently into my brain.
Watching Dumpster Man get point blanked by a snake and out of lack of knowledge refuse to try and parry the attack gets obliterated is one of the most infuriating and funny things I've ever seen.
Was an amazing video to watch, my first time killing Minos took me 2 hours and about 100 attempts, glad to say I P-ranked it now. The Dumpster shall rise again

what's ironic is that Minos prime's "thy end is now" and " prepare thy self" can be easily dodged by keeping Minos in your field of vision and strafing sideways.
P- ranking bosses is super easy. Normal levels are a problem. Idk what I'm doing wrong, maybe somehow taking too much damage, but I can't P-rank any of them to save my life- I keep getting A in style.
Tip: parrying Corpse of Minos gives a ton of style
