You said that you could see how some people might not value these facades, but honestly this feels like some of your best work. It's such a small slice of life but the level of contrast and exuberance you bring to these pieces is incredible.

What I’m liking most about them is the history you can see in them. There’s the original building, the modifications and repairs, and then the weathering, plus the debris suggests a larger environment that the facade is part of.
A model should tell a story. A full blown diorama or even a vignette can tell about a whole war or just a moment in that war while implying what came before and what might happen immediately after. These facades speak of decades.

As a model railroader, these are some of favorite videos of yours. I learn so many things that I can translate over. Not that armor isn’t entertaining and helpful, I love watching those videos, but please keep doing the diorama/structure builds.👍

I love any model, facade, or diorama you do so don't think your subs aren't interested in stuff like this because we are. I'd actually say most of us watch because of your incredible attention to detail and creativity in how you approach things like that. I'd love to see you try to tackle an airplane model at some point. Since you do such a fantastic job of weathering your models, it would be cool to see that on a plane like a B-17 like it was battle damaged after a mission or something.

Hi Martin, another great video. I confess that I love making buildings too, and I've used ALL of the materials you have used, past and present, except, believe it or not, foam board! LOL. My favourite material is plaster of Paris, because you can obviously make and use molds to make wall sections and repeat the process as many times as you like, cutting up and carving some casts in whatever way you like. In other words it's very versatile, very quick and the plaster is as close as you can get material-wise, to real bricks, stone blocks, concrete etc etc and it is easy to paint/ink etc. I seem to be going down the 'best materials for making buildings list' in the reverse direction to you. LOL I will be making a lot of foam board buildings soon, and I have developed a great technique which makes carving details into foam board a piece of cake and will feature in future vids in the not-too-distant future. Viewers of your video might like to know that the material you describe as 'foamed PVC board' and 'Forex' can be found for FREE at many larger supermarkets! It's used for making advertising and information signs, usually hanging from the ceilings, or stuck to walls, or even making temporary display stands, all of which are seasonal and get thrown out once the promotions are over. I approached a manager who was throwing some out and he was happy to give me several sheets for free. I ended up with about 4 square metres of the stuff!. Yes, it's not the easiest substance to carve, but it's tough and sturdy and pretty much indestructible whilst accepting acrylics and enamels. I do use medium or thick CA glue to glue the stuff together, but line the insides of the walls corners/joints with strips of CA-doused paper to help hold them together whilst it all dries. Keep up the great work.
