- In this Super Bowl Sunday Multi-App Food Delivery Ride-Along we worked Doordash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, Instacart and Shipt and was hoping for a huge Super Bowl Sunday with the food apps. Would Doordash deliver or would the Super Bowl be a complete dud of a Sunday?

You said it best man. the waiting is what kills it. its even worse when you get up early specifically to do gig work thinkin that the early bird catches the worm typa thing then you blink & its noon with $27 made in 4 hours typa thing😂 it kills the morale. like you said “doing the gigwork is still fun” its the in between that just sucks the life out of ya. i would rather do 6-7 “small” orders all back to back & keep busy rather than wait 90 minutes in between “good orders”
I'm commenting below to say I just finished my second week of full time W2 work again. I went back to the vet field which I didn't think I would do.
I was full-time gig work for just shy of 4 years.
Not only was all of 2023 bad but I also moved to a new area that just couldn't support me either.
I'm happy to know I will have a consistent paycheck and having days off again that feel like actual days off because I don't have guilt about not going and working or sleeping in too long to make working not worth it and then having guilt about not having money and the cycle of all of that is gone and feels so good.

If us customers are allowed to rate you shoppers, I think you should be allowed to rate us as well. Make those difficult shoppers known for future delivery drivers so it factors into whether or not they want to accept it! I feel like we should be just as accountable to provide a positive experience!
The Suja’s are a refrigerated item (perishable good) that can’t be left in just any aisle.

I have twin boys who will be 25 in May. They were good sleepers as well. Pretty much stayed on the same schedule for years.
I have a day job full time. 45 hrs a week as a couirer/warehouse worker. Then go out evenings when i cam but mostly weekends. I'm also from Canada so different market entirety.
Worked superbowl night and it turned out to be alright. Made $135 in 4 1/2 hours. That was just skip. Also a $20 cash tip.
Didn't watch or eat anything special since I was busy grinding 😅
Also don't have a clue what you mean box? Like a money box you give people or get during superbowl? American thing maybe?

Did a 24 hour challenge with my friends on DoorDash barbecue ribs for dinner on my 30 minute break had a great day for me on Super Bowl Sunday

I love watching y'all because I love that you do it together. What a great relationship...even though Mary can get a little irritated at times. 😂 I was surprised your grocery stores weren't packed. I could barely walk through my stores before the game.
I got a W2. Making more $/hr than I could make doing gig work. 32 hrs a week considered full time and I won’t put 50-100 miles on my car a day.

DoorDash was dead early in the day on Super Bowl Sunday because everybody was going to order food for the game that night, so nobody was ordering breakfast. I got a couple shop and pays during the day but once the afternoon hit DD was jumping with big orders. It was pretty good and I got home right as the game started. Easy money
This past superbowl sunday was the worst in my 3 years of doing uber eats...started at 12 and planned to work until 6 or 7...it was super slow here in California. Its usually a busy day but it was so bad out there. Always love watching u guys! Definitely been considering other means of employment. But the freedom of doing uber eats at ur own schedule is what keeps me coming back. Hopefully things change for us delivery drivers soon. Its definitely been rough out there lately.
I worked at my regular job until 6pm. No dashing. I had a very good day on Valentines Day! I made more in a single day than I had for a long time.
Also from the KC metro. Our market must be pretty good. I'm PT and I'm satisfied most of the time

I don't do gig work at all anymore, but my area is really bad for it. I did consider taking a part-time second job at Panda Express, though, because they start at $21 an hour. Instead, I signed up for a softball team.
Rooting for the Chiefs. I was stuck st Pizza Hut for an hour. The app never asked if i could unassign. I could have when i called support with no competition. I stuck it out, good app tip and she gave me a great cash top when i arrived
Hi Lou and Mary! In the morning instacart has drops when grocery stores first open (my stews drop is at 7am) and usually 50% of the time I get a great batch! Maybe you could try doing some drops like that in the morning, they’re usually more lucrative than Uber eats in the morning
I’m from the Kansas City area and everybody is still in shock over the shooting that happened at union station after the chiefs super bowl parade on Wednesday.

I hate when they add heavy/bulky items. I pick batches based on those and when they add bulk packs of drinks that i had not expected...especially when there are stairs involved!
Me & my husband work together in Omaha Nebraska doing Uber eats, instacart & Amazon flex we make about $1,800/week working around 45-50 hr a week.
Weird, I had an order for those mini Vive ginger and turmeric juices today and they were also out of stock 😂

It was super slow at first, but really picked up about an hour before the game began. Then it got REALLY busy. I made in three hours just as much as I earn during a six hour regular day.
I do full time (30 hours) and earn more than ever before and work less hours to receive it. So, no W2 for me.

My Super Bowl shift wasn't great either.
I place orders a lot but never add items once a shopper has been assigned. I can’t imagine adding items while they’re actually in the store. That was just rude.

Unfortunately Pizza Hut very rarely has orders for DoorDash because th y have their own drivers. Side note I was driving in middle of nowhere and came across a Pizza Hut buffet and it was amazing to relive that 😂

I was here on Super Bowl. I had to leave. Cars parked all over Suffolk avenue and there were about 50 people on line. I had a $35 Uber and a $25 add on for Pizza Hut. Unassign!!!!!

I had a driver from Instacart I added a couple things I knew the store was very small he was very rude as he wanted to get home over an hour away as a wegmans costco and another wegmans brought him 1 hour away
