@thetriggerhappypwner You would think so, but he actually drove it home. After we towed him out, we drained his oil and fuel tanks, refilled them, plenty of plus gas in the engine bay and an hour later he was good to go!
Low tension electrics will often function fairly well under water, for a little while. Always turn the lights on when you take an L200 through a ford, so you can find it later.
Glad to see the truck survived from the drowning, not many vehicles could survive this, recovered, started & driven back home!! The classic L200 is a tough beast. Bet you're pleased it wasn't you this time huh AnD.
He's still got the truck. The only fault (if you can call it a fault) was that the interior smelt like wet dog for a while. Why did we do it? Because it's an L200 and we could.
The electronics in the L200 are not that bothered about being under water. I think the fact that the wipers keep going is the funniest thing about the video
at which point was it unstable? I see a bunch of people being idiots and then nearly drowning their car. Property damage yes... as long as you use common sense, not particularly dangerous. Pro tips for any british 4x4'ers who obviously don't have a lot of experience, when crossing water HAVE YOUR WINDOWS WOUND DOWN. Silly move on reflection is not having experience and having the car under water far longer than needed.

That's cool. Great trucks.
I'm a Land Rover guy myself, but i've had a Nissan Navara and would love an L200 too.

I have same special edition Trojan.proud of my truck too. very nice trucks.
the phrase "piss up in a brewery" springs to mind!! did the guy keep pulling the reversing driver as a joke??
Thats an understatement tel! The downside for me as a result of this is that SWMBO has banned me from ever getting a snorkel LOL
Took a couple of hours to change the oil and drain the waterlogged fuel tank then he drove it home :)
L200 is the Best Car.
i have to agree with u there. i thought a boat might be the vehicle of choice for crossing water. cheaper than fitting a set of con rods to the engine
MY GOD LOL well done for getting right across man i mean wow well done again!

Wasn't wasted. The guy drove it home. :)

hehe, wait for mummy!!
Why did you towed that car backwards into the water? it would have been better if you dragged it in forward....
For a laugh...
Good luck stopping the millions of mould spores that will most certainly come. What was the purpose of the backward tow anyway?
แบบนี้รถรุ่นไหนก็รอดยาก

at which point was it unstable?
