Thank you for sharing this. How would you compare to the Guild you reviewed? More or less comfortable to play?

Very comparable but I kept the Guild because it sounded better to my ear. More bottom end!

This is, I concede, a somewhat unusual criticism of the Seagull brand and one that won't make a difference to 99.8 % of guitarists but here goes anyway. Did you know that there's actually no such creature as a 'seagull'? The correct term is simply 'gull.' Scientists and knowledgeable, serious bird watchers roll their eyes inwardly when they hear people use the term 'seagull.' That's if you're lucky. If you're unlucky, you may have the experience I had once when a rude man, who happened to be an ornithologist, called me an "idiot" to my face for using the term 'seagull.' Should any of this matter to people looking for a good guitar? No. Does it matter to me? Yes. I simply don't want a guitar that has the term 'Seagull' emblazoned on the headstock. Bias and prejudice is a funny thing, isn't it?

Semantics can be a beautiful thing. I didn't know that but it doesn't detract from the brand name.... especially when you have brand names as ugly as Glarry, Huawind, etc.

Ha, ha! Trout face, your so-called "criticism of the brand" is totally ridiculous! The colloquial term seagulls for gulls has been used for well over 200 years and has been used for other things, including ships (e.g. HMS Seagull 1795), islands (e.g. near Australia), planes, sports teams, works of art (e.g. The Seagull, by Anton Chekhov, 1896) and many other purposes. So get over it. If you don't want a guitar just because some sad pedantic ornithologist upset you then it is only your loss and nobody cares. The Seagull S12 guitar is an excellent instrument and great value for money!

Did you have a shitty childhood? Were you chased by any SEAGULLS? You have my empathy.
Nevertheless I have that guitar and plays like SEAGULLS were gliding gracefully on the air.

Wow, I’m sorry but that bird guy who called you an idiot sounds like one sad, soulless SOB
