Its not. You should only re-upload, not deleting. If you change videos, especially that were scheduled, you will end up confusong the algorithm and it will lose velocity.

I've had shorts that had virtually no views for 3 months before they got millions of views. Don't delete them if you're confident they're good

I think it's ok to delete a video if it's getting zero views. Normally, when I get zero views, I delete it, wait and post ot at a different time, and I get more views. It really depends on wat time u post ur video

i mean i only have 90 subs but ive gained 48 in the last month so i can probably help you guys, please dont delete them. i had a short that had 0 views for 3 months and when i started learning how to do good shorts and they started to get 1-2k views, youtube pushed out all of my older content, including that, now that short has 1.3K

@@SadKurd ill give you some tips that may help. Some of your shorts have a couple views so with them, what are the shown in feed stats? That shows how many times youtube have shown it. Additionally what is the average percentage viewed. My best short has 350% viewed but it doesn't need to be that high, around 100% should be good enough to get quite a few views, a lot more than 0-3, but the higher the number the longer youtube pushes it for and the higher the amount it is shown. From watching some of your shorts they are quite long compared to what is needed, the quote one as an example, you wait quite a while until it loops but you need to make it long enough so they get the point but short enough they dont scroll before the end, if they do it wont get views. If your percentage viewed is low, the reason is most likely as i said they are too long, from what ive seen your shorts with the most potential are the meme ones, despite them having 0 views i believe it ties down to percentage viewed and if they scroll, lower the length (i would do research on the lengths of the other meme videos like your ones) , change the audio to the ones the popular ones use (all the meme ones i see use that robber song so try using that), and reupload with a new title without deleting the old ones.

It’s weird you mention 1.3k, because both of mine were pulling good numbers and my first 2 stopped on exactly 1.3k! My third wasn’t pushed out at all

I would say honestly post as least once day because if you feel stressed about getting a video out on time to be considered frequent poster or something you might get burned out have fun with it
YES! THIS IS SUPER TRUE i post around 3-4 edits per day ofc it doesnt blow up right away but the next day it starts growing bigger and bigger then stops then grows bigger!
Weird. I had a video get 0-5 views. So I deleted and re-uploaded it 3 times. 0 the 1st time, 4 the 2nd, and the 3rd time it got 4k views🤷♂️
If I don't get views about 1K. I do not delete them but usually private these videos

💯 I sometimes would delete my shorts if I wasn’t super confident and content with the post and/or the outcome even after 24 hours. However, there was 1 short that I promised myself I wouldn’t delete because it was genuine to me and authentic to my zhuzh and randomly after 2 months or so it blew up. It struggled for weeks to get 100 views and now it’s almost at 80k views and boosted my subscriber count 🤷🏾♀️ I have no idea why or how I was like really TH-cam my worst performing short 🤦🏾♀️ but definitely a life lesson. Wow. This is really amazing 80k views. I tend to delete and reupload my shorts if they don't do well in 24 hours. There are times when I delete and reupload I tend to get more views, but maybe I need to stop deleting them.
Good for you 👍 I believe that once the traffic increases, a lot of ppl will go into your account and binge watch a lot of your content hence the increase in views and subscriptions 😊
TH-cam receives ~30 bil views a day, and sometimes I can't get a single view because the algo wont push it in the feed. I just delete and remake the short and upload again.

Maybe you can't get any views BECAUSE you keep deleting and reuploading. Try not to do that for a few months and see how the algorithm responds.

I've pretty much decided not to do shorts anymore, I'm always having problems with them. One video will do good, the next will get 0 or just a few. Then everything seems to freeze up for a day or two on my other vids, it makes no sense. I'm going to delete all my shorts, probably tonight.@@yolofrank
Here's one school of thought: I do commentary shorts, which tend to have a short shelf life to begin with. If I flush the duds, when people look at my page, they see nothing but the ones that got hundreds or thousands of views. That makes a stronger impression than seeing a lot of duds with ten or twelve hits.
I only do that if the algorithm looks broken and it doesn't show it in feed at all. It's supposed to start jacking up the shown in feed for like one full hours starting about starting about 5 to 10 minutes after you posted, but sometimes it just doesn't
i mean, for me it slowly shows in feed until people watch it, sometimes it takes multiple days to show in feed, i had one that took 3 months

This is facts, I learnt this the hard way unfortunately. Several years ago (2018), I was gaining about 70 subscribers a week from old videos (which was high for me). This went on for a couple of months, until I deleted about HALF of my videos. It was like instantly killing off the traction point-blank. Immediately, the new subscribers dropped to 0. NEVER delete, instead make them Private.
Now, I just create the videos for myself and the subscribers that I have. Seems like shorts has changed the dynamic on social media. My kind of content is absolutely niche and very few people will have the patience to watch it anymore. So, I have stopped actively trying to make it as a full-time TH-cam content creator.

I think I agree with the getting penalized part. I uploaded a short at a time not many of my viewers are on so I deleted it and re-uploaded it and the shorts I've posted afterwards haven't done as well. I'm going to leave them as is from now on

I came across another top TH-camr who mentioned this as one of his tricks: if you are not getting views delete the video and upload the raw file again.

I've NEVER had "99% of my views" of TH-cam shorts come after the first hour. The vast majority of views ALWAYS occur in the first hour. I don't know what he's talking about. I have some shorts that are many months old too. I have a feeling that the algorithm works differently for large channels versus small channels.
Easy to get around.
TH-cam's algorithm isn't a real person memorising your content to punish you if you upload the same thing - it's a bot that's easily outsmarted.
I've been experimenting on this for the past few months and have found the perfect time to upload my content based on subject matter by doing this exact same thing.
Say I have a 52 second short. I've taken multiple takes of each shot. I make the new video 58 seconds. I choose a different one with different camera movement. I punch in on the shots I'm keeping but have used before, or horizontally flip them. I change the embedded subtitles from the top to the middle. I change the music track, and I re-record the voice over if there is one and I change the title, description and tag order. TH-cam's bot assumes it's a new video on the same subject, uploaded at a different time. Every single time I've done this, I have achieved more views and have found the sweet spot in terms of time to upload depending on what I'm uploading about and what my target demographic is.
One thing I've found that can hurt your video is liking or commenting from another account on the same chrome profile or IP address. As tempting as it may be to see a few likes or a comment on your video to help "get the ball rolling"... Don't. It basically pulls a handbrake on your video's reach.
