3 EASY HEALTHY CHINESE SAUCES | LETS GET SAUCY!!

  • Growing up in Ireland back in the day Chinese food wasn’t very common and we only had what was mass produced and whatever reached the Ireland, in regard to foreign cuisine. These 3 easy healthy Chinese sauces may have been the first three Ireland got to try. It’s amazing how small the culinary world has gotten in regards to what is readily accessible. I think making your own sauce is still the best way to control the ingredients you eat and how much sugar is in your food.
    All the best,
    Dave & Steve.

    Hi from the US! Love your recipes and will definitely make these. About viscosity :), if you say a sauce is viscous it's implied to be thicker. Higher viscosity = more thick. Less viscous =thinner sauce.

    All these sauces look amazing, and I wonder how the peanut butter substitution would affect the hoisin sauce's oiliness (is that a word? lol) since peanut butter is pretty fatty... Would be nice if you included text overlay in the video, or a written recipe in the description for those who are more visual learners

      Peanut butter and tahini are pretty similar in nutritional value so wouldn't really make a difference! Thanks a mill for watching and sending your feedback! Sending loads of love :)

    The black beans used in black bean sauce are actually fermented soybeans

  • @ima7333
    @ima7333 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Black bean sauce is usually just salty, not at all sweet. Also usually got no ginger in it. Won’t it taste weird w/ the ginger & maple syrup? I’m chinese descend and my great grandfather got a chinese restaurant that still operating here in Indonesia. I also need to point out that hoisin sauce never contain any seafood as it is supposed to complement seafood dishes but the store bought ones are loaded w/ all sorts of crazy additives i don’t care for. Btw the secret to chinese restaurants’ sweet sour sauce is ketchup. I use pineapple in mine instead of sugar & go easy on the vinegar.

    If making it heart healthy one would leave out the oil, why put it in anyway? Does oil clog ones arteries? Is going oil free only a healthy move if you have heart issues? Or is it a healthy move regardless? For you is veganism about being the healthiest you can be? Clearly you are a picture of healthy, so maybe if one starts out at an early age as a whole food vegan, oil is not harmful??? Am a bit confused.

    • @thehappypear
      @thehappypear  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you have heart disease best to not use oil and as an ideal without oil is healthier but as you are aware food has the ability to nourish our souls and it is more than simply nutrients, our relationship with food is also super important. Oil will add more calories and increase the fat content which in turn will make the food richer and taste better so it’s all a matter of what your priority is 👍🏼😄💚

McDonald's in China has its own local interpretation of its fare suited to its target market there and it's not exactly what they serve back West - actual Chinese cuisine would be somewhat difficult to market to Westerners as we'd be unlikely to appreciate much of the same foods typical on menus in China.
