That soup at the end looked like mongo. It's a delicious nutritious dish made from mongo beans.
You shouldn't denigrate any food just by their looks even in jest.
It's a very traditional Filipino soup.

Don't take his word for it about the 40m building restriction on that other lot, they either don't know or will lie. Check with the barangay/municipal for the exact restrictions. In fact unless there is something special about a block I think its a bad idea to buy anything with any sort of restrictions. Its not like there is a shortage of land. Run, don't walk.

Have thought about buying agricultural land and build house there and have a lot space around? You can buy 1 or more hectares of land build and use as much as you need and what you don't need you can sell it. Seen others doing that.

Hi Tim the lot was very nice but what's the deal with houses on it. Is that normal? How can somebody who buys it shift those people and the structures on then be welcomed if they built and lived there. I've seen a few videos now with that same issue. In Australia you need a permit to build and it has to be on a titled block you own as I guess with the US. We have also to build a certain size and style to suit the area and even stricter conditions to build in fire prone areas. It appears over there that you can just build a house anywhere and be prepared to pull it down if you don't own the land. How can the locals anyway buy land if they only earn 300 pesos a day? A very different world I cant wait to explore again. Thanks for the informative video Tim.

Tim, the rock on that second property you were referring to is coral and it is a bear to build on and clear! Our softball diamond in the Philippines was build on reclaimed coral land. Unfortunately every once in a while there would be pieces of coral kicked up when someone tried to slide. They eventually banned sliding into bases because the cuts from the dead coral rock would cause bad infections. The first property was beautiful, but I'm with you...I couldn't displace a family by buying the land from under them...I'd even feel more like a heel if I moved into their existing home while I was having my new home built!
