A great movie with very good actors! R. I. P. Mr Harry Dean Stanton! Cheers from a cineast in Sweden! Many thank's for upload Take good care folks! We are not alone - at all!!!
It was in early 90's when i started me l9ve for audio and video, i bought 2nd hand recorders ( beta/vhs/vcc ) and sometimes they came with a bunch of videotapes ,too So this is my first recolection of that old beramaxcassette, , an or8ginal movie , called Paris,Texas I decided to watch it on a ra8ny fridaynight And...from then i was ,, hooked, on this movie, the storyline, the acting/actors, the locations, the music, it was flabbergasting, i watch the movie, even without having a drink or snack I still have that old ( now even decades older ) beramaxvideotape, later on i bought Ry cooder's music, i've voyght ParisTexas on vhs, and a few years ago, i bought the BLURAY ( with Dutch subs ..ULTRA RARE ) and, now, 40 years later, this m9vie /mus8c, still moves me, the same it did when i first saw it.....simply brilliant🙏🤔👍
I'd have liked this movie better without the explained ending. Or maybe just a short hint of the ending. The mystery until his brother brought him back had the best atmosphere. I didn't like how he littered the water jug, though. The desert should stay pristine.
I just watched this today and I agree with you. I didn't really like the last 1/3 of the film. The first 1/3 was the best. The whole thing would have been better had he not found his former wife, imo.
Из отрывка увиденной, хочешь напиться из чужого корытца так и не долго скопытится можно. Может, кто подскажет, где посмотреть оригинал фильма в нормальном русском переводе?
Can anyone read the full message on the frame near fridge in the bar where Travis passes out? 4:29 I can only make out the words “The dust has come to singe you…”
I've heard great things about this film. Trying to find it online. Where is the opening scene set? Looks like Wyoming maybe. There's nothing like that around Paris, Texas.
The film opens somewhere south of the border. Paris Texas is refered to during the film and we see a photgraph. I dont remember that the action actually goes there.
The opening scene was filmed about 20 miles north-northwest of Terlingua, Texas on what is now the Agua Fria Ranch. The location where we first see Travis is 29.584411° N, 103.733924° W. The filming location can be seen on page 131 of the book Marfa Flights by Paul Chaplo.
congratulations - that is the question that the whole film asks -and is answered at the end of the second act. If I told you the answer it would spoil the film
That opening score, gives me shivers every time. Completely changed my view of cinema and the US west, and have been chasing that feeling ever since.
I watched this flick wayyyyyy back when it aired on UK tv & took up sllde guitar with rye cooder as a mentor.
First saw it in 1984...and I've been chasing it ever since.
one of the best films ever made , matched with a brilliant soundtrack .
Andrew Medley
Amen Andy!

Watched it many Times im never bored to watch it Again ! !!!
love the old neon, the motels, the music, the slowness...movie puts me to sleep everytime I watch it, and I mean that as a compliment.
Favorite movie, favorite actor. RIP Harry Dean...you made the world brighter and today it's a little darker.
For me Harry was one of the most important co-stars from Hollywood.
RIP HARRY
The movie : underrated , and a brilliant work losted in time .
Texas is a special place. It's unique. For me, it's home.
What a coincidence.
Rest In Peace, cinematographer Robert Müller. Look at this work 😱 Perfect.
Check out To Live & Die In LA that he also did brilliant work on.

According to google maps Travis would have walked about 4 hours 2 minutes from the location in desert to reach the bar where he passes out.

R.I.P Harry Dean Stanton, and thank you for Willard, Brett, Bud, Travis, Johnnie, Carl, Felix, The Caterpillar, and so much more....

they always throw away the canister when it's empty.....what if they find water?
A practical mind. I think like this too. Just as well we don't direct films 😂
Harry Dean Stanton relieved of duty. Sam Sheppard promoted to better things hopefully...

When Ellis hits your water bottle out of your hand
This is the cure for dying America, watch and learn, and rise up from the ruins of The digital world and sick society. Art at its best.
Jeder normale Mensch würde schon längst einen anderen Film an machen!
Spooky. .. How great film can be sometimes..eh..😉🤗
Am I the only who cringed when he littered ? He could've given the plastic bottle to the cameraman.
4:41 what is he saying? What language is it?
He is saying...." hey, what the hell?"...sounds like Spanish.
Italian. "What the hell..?"
...in a place that doesn't even have a name!.....
Nothing says north Texas like the west Texas desert
Dave Grohl brought me here
I'd have liked this movie better without the explained ending. Or maybe just a short hint of the ending. The mystery until his brother brought him back had the best atmosphere. I didn't like how he littered the water jug, though. The desert should stay pristine.
+Geo T Howhever he close the jug top!

@@cosmos34 in what way tho, there wasnt a mystery to sort out. It was a man running away from the terrible things he’d done
The Crew 2 main menu music.
From which painter is the painting at 04:17 in the left corner of the screen?!
Never heard this version where the man in the bar speaks to the protagonist in Spanish. Believe the other version the character says “what the…?”
Italian.
@ Ok… but why? We’re at Terlingua on the border of Texas and Mexico.
@@blisterfree because they posted the italian version, which is dubbed.

New Mexico
Looks like Somewhere near Monument Valley, Utah. Where he falls down is Terlingua, West Texas
The bar scene is near Terlingua, Texas
The opening scene was filmed about 20 miles north-northwest of Terlingua, Texas on what is now the Agua Fria Ranch. The location where we first see Travis is 29.584411° N, 103.733924° W. The filming location can be seen on page 131 of the book Marfa Flights by Paul Chaplo.
Vale Harry
Monument valley y’all
kurt cobain
Arthur Douglas what's the cobain reference?
Cobain said that this film was his favorite film of all time.
I'm understand why he love this movie
Where was this movie filmed at? Because that's not Paris, TX in this vid
29°35’05.3″N 103°44’01.4″W Terlingua, Texas
Why is the lead mute throughout the opening minutes of the film?
Isolation, walking in the desert
It would be strange if he was talking to himself
Like I fucking know.
congratulations - that is the question that the whole film asks -and is answered at the end of the second act. If I told you the answer it would spoil the film
O
Who da hell wears a suit in the desert. If take that off at least!
Vengo por Kevin Kaarl
Paris, Texas doesn't look anything like that.
Paris France certainly doesn’t
Kurt Cobain's favorite movie
R.I.P. Harry Dean Stanton.
