Outstanding as always gentlemen. I broke out my bottle of LP 10 CS #15 and had a dram while watching this episode. I was a Lagavulin, Talisker & Bowmore fan originally and only tried Laphroaig a few years ago. Let's just say I am very impressed with Laphroaig and will now be looking for a bottle of the Cairdeas. Thank you and keep up the great work. Cheers...
Very nice review. Since watching your video, I have purchased the Cairdeas Warehouse 1 (2022), which was excellent. I just received the 2023 today and your review was spot on. For me the 2023 is better than the 2022 only for the complexity and subtle notes thst one can sit back, take their time, and just enjoy. Thank you for introducing me to Laphroaig Cairdeas.
Cheers mate, we are happy our enjoyment of the pour translated to you as well. There's always a risk in trying to convey experiences, which is why we try to take the time to explore our experiences without preparation...this is how 99% of all drinkers will experience their drink as well (open the bottle and give it a go). 🥃
I always like a Glenfarclas 12 for an easy drinking sherry cask and the Aberlour Abunadh for a heavier cask strength offering. Those would be my two commonly available picks.
Yes sir, the phenols present when peat is used to smoke the barley are serious contributors to the medicinal notes, the specific phenol in question is 'cresol'. Cheers!! great question
I did inherit about 30 bottles from my Father-in-law, but the rest I have collected over the last 15 years. Cheers! (the friends of the Bitter End also make contributions to the shelves in exchange for a lifetime of free drinks)
I do like me a tipple of Laphroaig Cairdeas every now and then, but they are a bit too overpriced for me and tend not to be exciting enough for me to buy the bottles. I'll take a sip from a friend though! Much prefer Ardbeg and Kilchoman personally.
A friend with a heavy pour is a friend indeed. We are loving the Ardbegs, really, and I mean REALLY loved the Perpetuum!! We are just starting to understand Kilchoman, but have been intrigued so far. Cheers!
Cheers Colin & Malcolm, surprisingly I was watching your LP 10 CS #15 review last night with your guest (Ben?,) any chance you have Talisker Special release '23; the Wild Explorador on the shelves, I'll leave it too you to explore that cask make-up, but I enjoyed it's middle palate transition😋
S4 E33, I think you are referring to...Mike was the guest...If he makes it back to the Bitter End before the bottle is gone...absolutely he gets a pour. We have very few restrictions on drinks from open bottles here...Try Before We Die. Yes!, we have the 2023 Talisker Wild Explorador here, my oldest son got it for me for the holidays this year...it is on the shelf and available for Randy to choose. Cheers mate!!
@@TBWD Excellent Colin, I have trouble putting certain aspects off it's flavour into words & would enjoy your take on it, I' have a back-up & well done too the young man 😉 Good call.
Enjoyed this review- very entertaining. Great bottle.
Thanks! I sampled this in a store first and then bought it; no regrets whatsoever. Cheers!!
When do we start construction on the addition? 😂
Annex the rest of the house...

Can you recommend a scotch without the band aid medicinal notes. I do love a sherried Irish Whiskey. Absolutely my Favorite channel

Awesome Thank you very much@@Lemmingpc

Glenmorangie 10 or Glengyle 12 are good unpeated expressions
All the answers already given really make sense! Another sherry bomb would be the Glenlivet Nadurra Oloroso cask...jet fuel that stuff is.
Is the peat what gives the Band aid Medicinal Notes?
