@@derdox6720 I think you're being pretty unfair hammering down that point. No game is for free. Completely free means being bombarded with ads and/or having aggressive monetization methods in your game. Swtor has none of that. You can play through most of the game for free with some inconveniences like having a currency cap and limited stash etc etc. If you choose to pay for a month of sub once those inconveniences gets removed and you also get access to the latest expansions forever even after your sub expires. But yeah it is not free, but it's an extremely reasonable deal imo.
Proof positive that we don't need legacy characters for great Star Wars. At this point they almost only exist to tap into our nostalgia. The Old Republic has more potential than any other era of Star Wars. All it needs is a visionary that loves it the same way Filoni loves the Clone Wars era.
If you want to see amazing Star Wars stories then yes, play the game. Every class has its own unique origin story, that all tie in and run together, the expansion stories are amazing as well. Highly recommend this game to anyone. Perfect for casual or hard core players. Every quest gives you dialog choices and mini cinematic cutscenes, and it’s fully voice acted, even your character
10:56 Nope. The only one to blame for Orr's death is himself. His lies and deceit lead to that. If he had taken her brother and was honest with her instead of using bs cliche '' I did it to protect you, you have to trust me'' , things would have been different. That is why he finally apologized to her.
The old republic audio books are great stories. Start there. From the Bane trilogy being the best imo. But all of them are really good. If you played the original knights of the old republic. Theres a book that coninues the Revan story then its finished in the MMO.
If you want to get into the game you don't need to be a big gamer, the game is fully voiced and the main gameplay is the story of each class with whole other expansions after your class story. Definitely worth a try from a 8 year veteran of the game.
The live action Rurouni Kenshin movies 2-4 does have sword fights on this level. As for TFA, the guys from The Raid were supposed to choreograph some of the fight scenes, but JJ Abrams thought their suggestions were too violent, so he only ended up giving them a cameo.
They screwed up the last trilogies, it is sad. Thankfully the Mando and Bobba is trying to get Star Wars back on track, hoping for more from the upcoming series.
I think Bioware always makes a great story, IMO. For example, the Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic, Dragon Age, and Mass Effect games are pretty epic.
On the light sader fights in the new trilogy topic. While the Sequels are not favorite, story wise, they are my favorite light saber wise. The fights felt visceral and raw, and the light sabers looked like they had weight. The saber fights in the other two trilogies felt very "choreographed" and like they were whipping around a glow sticks and really didn't have me tensed when they swung them. However, the sequels made them feel like actual laser swords that would burn and dismember you.
Light sabers having weight doesn't make sense tho, it's why they moved away from the OT trilogy choreography in the prequels and legends universe. They returned to it in the sequel trilogy to score more nostalgia points. I personally prefer the prequel style fights over the OT style... as such i didn't particularly like the fights in the sequel trilogy unfortunately.
@@antonsundin2974 What do you mean "it makes no sense"? Nothing in star wars makes sense, everything works the way the writer's want it to. I'm pretty sure it's established in legends that when light sabers are activated that there is a force pulling on them until the user connects with then it becomes lighter, not weightless, though. They reestablished it "The book of Boba Fett" (correct me if I'm wrong). While the prequels are my favorite era for the world building and politics of that era, the slower and heavier fights with the saber bounce of each other with every swing, just felt more real to me in the sequels. You see them get faster as Rey gets more experience and Kylo stops toying with her as much in the fights.
@@councilornevec8249 There's a difference between inventing an entirely new concept like the force and changing established laws of nature without explanation. I assume that water conducts electricity well in the star wars universe just like it does in real life, i also assume that light particles wouldn't weigh anything. Does that make sense to you?
@@antonsundin2974 But light saber are plasma, not light. And kyber crystals are pretty much magic rocks. I believe how we imagined the light sabers woeking, influenced our idea of how they actually work in universe. I always thought that were matter based, before knowing they were plasma in lore, so I imagine they had weight to them and you saw them as light base, being weightless.
@@councilornevec8249 Indeed, how kyber crystals work they way they do is impossible to explain logically. Fully explaining how light sabers works is impossible since we cannot build them in real life. As such it's a necessity to just accept that they work otherwise you cannot continue on with the story. A fail to see how you can draw any correlations to my water example to this though. My point still stands. Sure they might be plasma but that doesn't hold much weight either.... so?
What's not been mentioned (as far as I know) in any of the reactions I've watched, is the difference between the two scenes of the little girl being "chosen" and taken away from her brother. - In the first scene (at the start of the trailer) she's shown going happily with the Jedi and looking up at him. However, in the second scene of this (when she activates the machine), she's shown going less willingly and is unhappy at leaving her brother. Which is the true one I wonder?
Remember the first scene is cut short and only shows the very start, while the part she sees in the machine is the continuation where she realizes her brother is not coming with her
and all throughout the temptation, what does the jedi master do? he doesn't deny a single bit of the machine's functions, that's what. malgus was telling the truth, although it was more because he needed every advantage he could get. either way, he didn't lie
A TV series shoud be made, with regards to making the old republec, where several seasons deal with different character arcs and in the ned the --hand and the knight goes together in an alliance to fight the Emperor vut he wins because he is too op, but they manage to break him backwards, this way the top star of the Empire and the top star of the republic/Jedi forces team together later to fight the new empire and the Hand and the Knight of the order, joins hands being sick and tired of the war and just want piece and eventually kill Valkorion.. And they then decides to take the alliance to a better place doing all the good stuff and continues to by the guading hand in the galaxy at large... Well hold on a moment. If the controlled mocap is easier to do than live action then why can’t why shouldn’t Disney do a fully CG movie in the style of these trailers? It doesn’t have to be live action. Certainly not if it can be done better in this style.

george lucas hand picked kathleen kennedy to replace him...when he had dave filoni by his side all that time...we can blame disney all we want but it was Lucas who selected kennedy.
I'll be honest here, comparing cinematic trailers to actual movies is really a false comparison. It is far easier to tell a cool 5 min scene/story than it is to create a full 2 hour film, much less an actual film trilogy. You simply cannot compare them the same way. Anyone can pull together a cool quick awesome looking trailer, because in a small amount of time you can focus all the cool moments to capture feelings and emotions, but it is much harder to sustain that for a 2 hour film while telling a longer narrative. It's just the same as you can imagine a really cool awesome scene to write, but then writing a full story/book is a much harder task. Why are the cinematic trailers so good? Because they are short and to the point, because they don't have the extended run time to linger and have the flaws start to pile up. If the sequel trilogy had just been a 5 min cinematic, it would have looked just as cool and people would have loved it too, we know this because when the trailers for TFA came out, people were losing their minds and the trailers were amazing. Again, it is the simple reality that trailers are by design easier to form a quick short story that immediately gets people's emotions, there's a reason why you can even make good trailers for bad films. Because any film can have cool individual moments that we love, the trick is how to sustain that for a whole film. If this cinematic had been a much longer 2 hour film, for all we know, it could have ultimately been a boring story with just a cool 5 minute scene.
In the new trilogies defense a lot of the amazing s*** done in here was with CGI. If they tried to do the same s*** with CGI they would be a difference between the real people and the fake people. So it wouldn't have looked good anyway. The new trilogy was just doomed from the start.
The reason you will never, ever see anything close to this is because of Kathleen Kennedy; and by extension Bob Iger as well for not having the will to stand up to her. Kathleen is the single worst thing to ever happen to Star Wars, the MCU, and Disney as a whole really. Regardless to where you stand in terms of her VERY public political views ( that she shoe horns into movies, ) we wont see any improvement until she is fired. Once Kathleen is gone, Dave Filoni, Jon Favreau, George Lucas and team might be able to fix the current state of Star Wars; and bring back these types of WOW moments.
Why are the movies not like this ? one word Disney also the reason it wil never be good . second piont star wars the old republic is a story driven MMO so playing the story mode is real eazy to play becouse its about the story not skill skill wil be important in pvp and flashpionts
While the fight choreography for Shang chi was impressive, the cgi was pretty shabby. It's comparable to the sw prequels with its over reliance for cg backgrounds especially the finale fight.

@@derdox6720 Paying for a month of sub gets you all the story content forever. It's definitely worth the price since it's like 15 dollars for dozens of hours of content if you've never played the game before.
@@antonsundin2974 so it's not free
@@derdox6720 I think you're being pretty unfair hammering down that point. No game is for free. Completely free means being bombarded with ads and/or having aggressive monetization methods in your game. Swtor has none of that.
You can play through most of the game for free with some inconveniences like having a currency cap and limited stash etc etc. If you choose to pay for a month of sub once those inconveniences gets removed and you also get access to the latest expansions forever even after your sub expires. But yeah it is not free, but it's an extremely reasonable deal imo.
Dude had the same reaction I had when the Palawan hit that nasty ass reversal
I can't wait to see the cut-scene movie of this.. Man was it gripping! Why can't the recent star wars movies be like this??
That style of choreography hasnr happend since Ray Park as Darth Maul
Man Malgus is such a badass,
And there are other old republic cinematics that are so awesome and yes, they are better than the sequels.
When Malgus makes sense, you know shit has gone wild. I need to catch up on this game.
Malgus may actually be the most well written character in all of star wars.
2:14 Dont smile kid. Run, RUN!!!
The live action Rurouni Kenshin movies 2-4 does have sword fights on this level. As for TFA, the guys from The Raid were supposed to choreograph some of the fight scenes, but JJ Abrams thought their suggestions were too violent, so he only ended up giving them a cameo.
I am so freaking happy that we finally got a new SWTOR cinematic trailer, and it is absolutely incredible.
They screwed up the last trilogies, it is sad. Thankfully the Mando and Bobba is trying to get Star Wars back on track, hoping for more from the upcoming series.
And Boba Fett failed.

Remember the first scene is cut short and only shows the very start, while the part she sees in the machine is the continuation where she realizes her brother is not coming with her
@@masterblaster5186 very true
and all throughout the temptation, what does the jedi master do? he doesn't deny a single bit of the machine's functions, that's what.
malgus was telling the truth, although it was more because he needed every advantage he could get. either way, he didn't lie
I like how basically the entire star wats community agrees that a Old Republic movie would be lit.
Well damn this trailer alone was ten times better than last three star war movies put together and that's really sad to say lol.
I hope you guys watch more of darth malgus starwars trailers
That would be interesting to see all of the history that you have played through become reality in some sense, but stay to the mainplot in the game....
To be honest, this one didn't get as much emotion out of me as the Sacrifice trailer.
I can't tell you how much I would love to see this in the movies and shows. I'm not even a super star wars fan. Most of my knowledge comes from the movies and the Disney+ shows. But the quality of the action, story, and emotion in this trailer completely destroys most of what I've seen from recent and some older stuff

More Bully Maguire pls 😁
Maybe you guys could do a dedicated bully Maguire livestream!!
Well hold on a moment. If the controlled mocap is easier to do than live action then why can’t why shouldn’t Disney do a fully CG movie in the style of these trailers?
It doesn’t have to be live action. Certainly not if it can be done better in this style.
I hope you guys get into Warhammer 40k
The first cinematics before this one I believe was better. Blur studio is just on another level I believe. It still doesn’t mean I like this one, I feel you can notice their limbs being more like spaghetti when they’re fighting.
This is SW. COME ON DISNEY!
Thank you guys for reacting to the whole all of us are dead series. To get a better perspective of the action sequences and stories behind the scenes you can go look at the commentary video which has the actors and directors reacting and talking about the scenes. These kind of actions are seriously missing in disney sequals. Why don't they hire same fight choreograhers.
It is the Jedi way
these cinematics, this one and all the old ones that came out when the game came out are better stories than all the new Disney trilogy. I assume you have seen the 3 original trailers

Nice reaction btw, thank you.
The only thing that's come close in live-action movies (in terms of fight choreography) is the Darth maul Qui Gon and Obi Won fight. But not really otherwise. The OG was okay but not like this.
The live action Rurouni Kenshin movies 2-4 does have fights on this level, just with katanas instead of lightsabers.

Why can't we have something like this for the movies?! George Lucas did it and these guys are doing it but why can't we have something like this from Lucasfilm?
I hope that Lucasfilm would make a movie based on these games and all of the old republic novels especially the novel Revan which features Revan, Meetra Surik, Valkorian, and Scourge.

People talk about both the fights and the story in revenge of the sith lol...unless you're still living in 2005 where you think its the worst thing to ever grace cinema
george lucas hand picked kathleen kennedy to replace him...when he had dave filoni by his side all that time...we can blame disney all we want but it was Lucas who selected kennedy.
I'm not so sure Dave Filoni would've been a good choice either.
Can the guys that make this trailer do the next star wars movie? And fire Kathleen Kennedy ffs, or Retire, for optics...
Why would you watch this on IGN's channel instead of SWTOR's?
This is a cinematic for star wars The old Republic not Knights of the old Republic they're different games
In the new trilogies defense a lot of the amazing s*** done in here was with CGI. If they tried to do the same s*** with CGI they would be a difference between the real people and the fake people. So it wouldn't have looked good anyway. The new trilogy was just doomed from the start.
REACT TO THE NEW BATMAN CLIP!!!!
How is this better than the entire sequel trilogy 😂
Cuz the sequels sucked and this is awesome

Nah, this guy is Darth Malgus, completely different character. SWTOR takes place 300 years after KOTOR.

Just quit life action and do animation, in that way you have endless possibilities.
