QCoach, thank you so much for these videos. They are really helpful. I have used Quickbooks Desktop for 30 years and now I am switching to Quicken Classic Business & Personal. The format is quite different. How do I record a Deposit? Do I enter the deposit under transactions? I don't see an option for making Deposits. Are all debits and credits recorded though transactions? Thank you.
Hello, I'm hoping you can answer my question. I have a customer who has been using 2017 Deluxe and it works for her. Recently had to get her a new laptop with Windows 11 and reinstalled 2017 Deluxe and it opens to a blank page. I believe it is not compatible. Cant go back to the old laptop. Her fear is change. So do you know if the latest Quicken looks and works like 2017? If not can it come close to how it was so not much of a learning curve for her? I don't know anything about this program unfortunately. Thank You
How can I create a bar chart report that compares spending by month for two time periods, like last year vs. this year? So it would look like the bar chart in a Spending by Category report with Column set to Month, but each month would have two bars, one for last year and one for this year. I have Quicken Starter.
Thanks for your video. I'm using Quicken Home and Business (version R36.45), and I'm having a difficult time with trying to add "Inflow & Outflow" to the Banking, Cash, & Transaction summary. I can click % symbol but don't see an Inflow / Outflow way to add it. Is there a way to do this in Banking Summary?
Inflow & Outflow style can be found on select reports by going to the Customize Gear and then on the Display tab selecting "Cash Flow Basis" under Organization.
I noticed your quicken menu balances are all red on the right hand side. I get my quicken updated/synced to my bank accounts and the balance is red though I don't enter any bills by hand and I have a positive balance in my accounts. Am I wrong to expect my balance in Quicken to match my bank balance?
The Red is normal for Credit Cards, Mortgages and Loan balances since they are liabilities. If your Bank accounts go Red you may be in overdraft...or just not reconciled. Balances don't need to "match" but then DO need to RECONCILE!
Check out the Sub-tabs, there's also further options to go to "classic dashboard" from the gear in the top right of the tab screen...and customization items.
Good video, I use quicken for Mac . You think quicken for windows is better then for Mac ??seems you have more reporting options. What version of quicken are you using.. Thanks

Will done. May I ask are using Windows or I would like to try quicken but I use macOS Catalina have be told Mac is like the res headed step child.

There is not a significant change in the User interface from 2017 to date. There are minor changes but nothing major to worry about.

I don't think Chart exists. There is the Income/Expense Comparison report but not a chart.

QMac has come a Very long way in recent years. However, I am still partial to QWindows for advanced reporting and more ability to customize.
