Every other tutorial I have seen until now was just painful filling the time with lots of information that quite simply as someone new to the software I have no context for and so was meaningless. @@JohnWayneZ uhh if you press the funky button the pattern thing appears, which lets you add sounds and stuff. like garage band, there is a seperate tutorial for using and creating melodies.
@@wreckgotit I've been using FL for a few weeks now and I am getting used to it, thanks! I'd say Waveform is a very easy and free to use DAW to get started with, it was easier for me, moving on to FL after learning the basics on waveform

Fine and all, but I wanna know about the relation between the rack, the tracks, the patterns and the playlist. I come from a tracker program called Buzz. Theres a machine editor, much like the instrument rack, except you also do the effects routing there. and each machine has its own patterns, made in the pattern editor. You cannot make a melody on an instruments pattern with another instrument. and lastly you have the sequencer. This is where every instrument and effect you have made a pattern for gets its own lane. Much like the playlist. The thing I struggle with is, I try to assign each track in the playlist to individual instruments, but it seems like it is more oriented towards individual patterns than instruments since each pattern can have multiple instruments in it? Whats the correlation here, or whats the most efficient way to think of it in terms of laying a track out?

Not 100% sure, but you can always start with that & then upgrade when u get more $$. Biggest things are a good processor & gpu i believe. If you get that laptop you're gonna NEED an external ssd/hdd
i need a bit of help, how do you even import your kits into the stu. ive been trying for literal hours now and it keeps popping up as like a thing that i cant use
open fl, go to the browser on the left hand side & right click any of the folders & click open. it should open a new folder up for you, make sure you drag the kit in that folder or somewhere accessible. lmk if that helped
My boyfriend uses FL studio all the time and often time he lets me use it and mess around. I make these horrible things with bird sounds and stuff just for fun. But now i wanna surprise him and actually make something decent

Actually, Fl Studio is VERY user friendly! Other DAWs like logic, ableton, and reason are alot more complicated!
