The most recent installment of Dad was easily my favorite. Friggin gorgeous and atmospheric and expository. Love it love it love it. Also, the creepy hobo jail is a nice touch to the BTS.
Look. If you can't afford clip-ons and they don't give you enough coverage anyway, you make do. You find a pair that works and stack. Idk about Nathan, but this has been my experience. And having looked this over I feel it's necessary to say: No. I'm not mad. With the way my brain words things it just tends to look/sound that way.
The joy of letting your van roam freely alone in the desert, the way you got the shots was so cool! I would've never guessed you shot this alone or hung out of the van from the video
All of your hard work paid off. The new episode is so visually stunning. Dad Betided was beautiful too, but the fact that this was a solo shoot makes it all the more incredible.
This was a fantastic BTS. For someone who "isn't a camera person" you did a hell of a job with the cinematography! You should be proud, and I hope you are. Can't wait to see more. :)
I want to add that this is extremely inspiring in showing people that they can accomplish what they set their minds to if they want it bad enough. Like.. This is incredible. Thank you!
I saw the snippet you posted of this on your Instagram! It was so cool! How did you get the second character (I won't say who) to appear (display?) in the end product of the completed video? You really are my favorite content creator--it strongly shows how much effort you put into everything you do.
Raspberry I just let the camera roll and I did both parts. I laid on the ground then changed clothes and got out of the car. Then I combined the two actions. Since the camera didn’t move I could combine them. I had to change fast so the light didn’t move. The sun moves fast.
This is brilliant. It's always impressive how imaginative and resourceful you can be with barely any budget and at times like this literally on your own. I have so much more respect for you than for all the rich directors and actors in hollywood. They are so used to having all the money and resources they want now-a-days that I bet most of them if you take away their fancy studios, green screens and cgi effects would not be able to make anything close to the quality you can produce on your own.
This is so cool, seeing how you've been making the videos by yourself. Rolling around in the van without worrying about steering must be fun. I hope those lizards are ok.
Is there anythin I can say except… he is gone from “haud yer wheesht”(no I’m not Scottish but I love the slang) to “I miss seeing him on my recommended page :(“. Love you Nathan. You deserve more subscribers
Great BTS, never would have thought of letting the van drive itself! Thank you so much for this project, Nathan! You guys are doing an incredible job bringing Dad to life!
This was awesome. I love to see behind the scenes stuff to see what neat tricks you have up for sleeves for stuff like this and your cool one take music videos. No idea how many times I've rewatched Gloria.
Wow! Glad to see this behind the scenes! One of my favorite episodes of dad was when you 'Nathan' were out dehydrated in the desert! Nice camera work 10/10 👍
The first time I watched this video was when I discovered Dad a couple of years ago. I always love watching behind the scenes stuff and this was a treat. Thank you for all that you do, Nathan. :)
The fact that I just don't know if this is technically a full 'out of dad character' or could be tied into the overall series is honestly a testament to how gripping and mysterious the Dad series is- Bravo!
Dude I could not do what you did and let that van drive itself so awesome job! plus am glad to see you are okay! didn't see any posts for a while and was like :( ruh-roh. and I love the cuteness of not wanting to hit the lizards! I feel you! I get so scared when I see a squirrel come anywhere near my car! Going to go check out the awesome shots!
This is really impressive dedication. Kind of surreal to actually see it in a "real life" context, it is otherworldly. Curious how this lines up continuity wise with the Nathan episode, but I guess it makes more sense since the Old Basin was supposed to be a pocket dimension, I'm sure even you can't just walk out of those :) *waiting for a "Self defense against being trapped in pocket dimensions" video*
Seriously Nathan, thank you so much for all of this, your work is so well thought out, so well crafted, and so impressive! Keep up the good work man, I hope this is just the beginning!
This was an amazing series/ARG so far you are an amazing smart person who can inspire many & me thank for creating Dad me & my friends have been theorising on Dad since Inside A Minds video. Thank you so much Nathan, Dad loves you.........We all love you ❤️
Thanks for showing us some behind the scenes!!! It's so cool how you were able to do it on your own! Also it looked so fun when you were just letting the van move on its own and you were taking the shots and everything, I hope I can do something like that someday, just doing stuff freely like that!
Nathan i have joined you tube maybe 4 years ago but first channel i subscribed was nathan barnatt from your ragdoll video and i specially searched for your channel to comment this love ya ! I got nostalgia please reply !!
Hey Nathan, I never comment but I just wanted to say that I love what you're doing with Dad. This look behind the scenes was great, and you're certainly being extra resourceful in the midst of this outbreak. You're awesome!
You need more subscribers! You're too talented to go this unnoticed. Thank you so much for sharing your genius with us! Keep up the creative work, can't wait to see what happen with Dad.
Really awesome stuff Nathan I was really sad to think dad was coming to an end but I’m glad to see it hasn’t finished and I can’t wait to see where it goes and how it does end. Keep up the amazing work.
Ok, Nathan is driving the Van, filming the desert from the Van and stationary filming the Van and himself from the desert... while performing acting stuff... all at the same time. A true multitalent!
Having heard the full version of the song withthe release of the album, I appreciate the instrumental. I do really want the instrumental version of those songs.
This behind the scene glimpse is just So amazing- Glad you're still having some fun even during Quarantine! Admitting though- it would be fun to just do doughnuts in that dust pit-- but I'm glad it was pristine enough for you to film!
Every time you make something new, i just can't understand why you haven't been picked up by someone smart with lotsa money so you can go change hollywood. You have more talent, originality and dedication in the tip of your nose than most of hollywood has in its entirety. Keep on keepin on👍
Dude if you’re ever up at El Mirage and need an extra hand I live in Phelan and it’s only a 5 minute drive for me to come out there. I’m safe and wear my PPE in public. Just let me know I’m available anytime and would love to be a part of your journey.
Nathan Barnatt well either way you know where I’m at if you ever need help, if you’d like feel free to email me at agoodballet@yahoo.com and I can give you my phone number or all my social media’s use my full name or email if you do a search they should pop up. Take care man and I love the content you’re creating.

"the shots are okay" - Nathan on one of the most beautiful episodes of Dad's Life to date
I am Low-Key jealous of that van.
So dramatic! Also... ;) I hear what you're saying.
This is like 25 mins from my house. It’s an awesome place to wander around.
Are we talkin Nevada or Colorado?
it's hard to imagine that this is 25 minutes from anything
@@AwesomeBlackDude It looks kinda like west Texas or New Mexico too
Arizona?
I wish you’d do more vlog stuff. I think you’re good at it!
I gotta say, leaving the van driving slowly since there's literally nothing around is a simple yet genius idea.
Fascinating.
Having seen the final product I couldn't be more impressed. That's incredible. Great job!
WOAH you shot this all on your own?
Damn, good job! This is so cool.
Also, that is one heck of a beard!
You wear it well. 🙂
Some say that to this very day, that van is still out there, driving itself...
Cool! Haunted van!
You just see the van, going down the highway.
This is so cool, seeing how you've been making the videos by yourself. Rolling around in the van without worrying about steering must be fun. I hope those lizards are ok.
Great BTS! When did you film this?
Bandages last Thursday

Hi from New Zealand Nathan...Loved seeing the landscape out there...so dry compared to our wet part of the world..xxx
Interesting to watch, you seem dedicated and thankful for your fans, Thank you Nathan Barrnat.

Thanks. But things that do well on YT are usually mainstream pop or meme based. Not original pieces. Story of my life. I’m used to it.
It is so cool to see some of the work that goes into your videos. Nifty
I really enjoyed this. Thanks for sharing some of the "behind the scenes" stuff with us.
You've always been an inspiration and this just makes you more awesome
I don't know that there's anything more Nathan than filming from the top of a rolling, driver-less van.
Dad ghost-riding the whip definitely made my day. Thanks, Dad!
Pretty cool, dude. You never cease to amaze and inspire. Also, LoL at "too much ankle"
