My favorite GCN track is back! The graphics are outstanding, and the music peek we got already sounds great! I cannot wait to play this and Wii Rainbow Road, considering both of the tracks are in my top 5 in the entire series!
I'm still cautiously optimistic about the gap shortcut at the end of DK Mountain being there, despite the additional wooden fencing. If we look really hard, we can see that it doesn't go *ALL* the way around the cliff side - it stops at the area where the boulders fall into the abyss. As such, it's possible we'll still be able to make the gap jump, albeit from a later, and less time saving way than before, and honestly, if this is the case, I'd still be satisfied, and I think it would be justified too. Let's consider DK Summit for a moment. The gap jump(s) in that course aren't super easy, and require skill and practice to learn and complete, and even then you can easily still screw it up. Meanwhile, the DK Mountain one has always been easy in such a way that you merely need to drive up to it and go off the edge - super easy. If they're nerfing the effectiveness of the cut, but allowing us to still do some version of it, I'm fine with this. We may just have to charge up a Super Mini Turbo and leap over the gap, whilst dodging the falling boulders. That's a lot more technical than simply driving slowly off the edge of the cliff. I really hope this is the case!

10/10 best track in the series, love it love it. Seriously though, I'm so happy they removed those wooden ramps added back in the Wii, I hated how for most of the volcano section you were just in the air since they shot you up so high. So excited to play this in a few days.
I’ve been wanting this track back since the BCP was announced and I’m so happy it’s back. Wild journey for us to believe it was coming too. Also didn’t realize some of these changes like the final turn being redesigned which makes sense for the context of this game and the DK barrels now too at the beginning. I do wonder with the new fencing however if you can still weave between them because they don’t look 100% solid like the normal fencing that’s present in the track. If they’re not, that would make the shortcut just riskier in general which I would love for them to do!
This is one of the best tracks from the gamecube! This glow-up of it looks phenomenal and colorful! If they oncorporate the different variants from Tour, where you can drive up the mountain, that would be really cool! 🌋🌴
Wave 6 is giving us: DK Mountain Wii Rainbow Road Funky Kong AND Diddy Kong. Easily my favorite wave, I’ve loved all the waves to be honest. In some small way, I’ll miss the speculation and anticipation for the new waves every few months.
My personal theory is that since the fences guarding the shortcuts are a different type, that a mushroom will allow us to break through it in the same manner as ninja hideaway or Piranha Plant Slide
Same. It looks like theirs something behind it and considering we’ve had some insane shortcuts in the BCP (Mushroom Gorge Gap Jump and the DK Summit Double Cut) it would be odd if they got rig of it.
I’m very grateful that DK Mountain is making a comeback, and they’ve done a great job updating it for the Switch. The cannon says DK on the side, you can fall off the bridge again, and the cartoony atmosphere Double Dash excels at has been kept. I hope we still have the cartoony trees at the starting line.

no idea why, but this specific course has always been my favourite in the whole franchise, something about the setting makes it so awesome so I'm really glad my fav track is back.
I have a feeling this is going to be the moonview highway of this wave where everybody loves the track but then complains that it isn’t as good as it was in wii
I always thought for the longest time this was a Mariokart Wii track until a few years ago. Mainly because I never had or heard of a gamecube until that point. The gameboy was my first console and then a ds.
DK Mountain is one of my favorite tracks in the entire Mario Kart series! I was so worried that Dino Dino Jungle was going to be added to the Booster Course Pass instead, but I’m so glad that’s not the case! I’m so happy that the Booster Course Pass has added a ton of my favorite tracks like Piranha Plant Cove, Merry Mountain, Choco Mountain, DK Mountain, Koopa Cape, Maple Treeway, Yoshi’s Island, etc.
I looked back in the footage of DK mountain and I noticed that the trees at the beginning the ones with the faces they look like to still be there cuz I see the stripes on them
Another track I can’t wait to play next week. I’ve only ever played the tour version so getting to play it in 8 deluxe will be awesome. Looks graphically and visually stunning as well as with all the wave 6 tracks😊
I'm pretty sure, I spotted the face trees at the end of the mountain before the bridge, they even have their distinctive nose! Maybe the Mario Kart team wanted to have a more dense feeling to the forest at the start? I think this was a great choice and makes for a memorable ending of the track!
If you could, one TH-camr you should bring to the changes and comparison series is odyssey central, I feel like he could make some pretty funny moments in his segment!
Tbh, I’m surprised they didn’t replace the bridge with a glide section.. it wouldn’t be the first time they’ve removed a beloved bridge from a track and replaced it with a glide section.

I've always thought DK Mountain was quite boring. I was honestly assuming Dino Dino Jungle was the jungle course coming because it's so much more unique (and is one of my favorite tracks in the series)
I personally wouldve preferred Dino Dino jungle, but I think the visuals make up for it. I’m still excited to play it and it’ll probably be top 40-30 of all tracks
Although DK mountain is a really good track, I find it the least interesting one in this wave because it barely got changed from the Tour version. The Tour version was good though.
Part of me wanted Dino Jungle in instead of DK Mountain because I don't care about lava 'on of the reasons why I'd rather have Vanilla Lake or any other SNES track than Boswer Castle' but since both tracks started before Tour I'll be glad to race on both of them 'if wave 6 tracks shows up a lot since wave 5 tracks didn't show up much and people choosing other tracks making most times I race not have a chance to race on all 8 of them'.

Um technically the shortcuts on DK Mountain are still possible in the 8 deluxe version because the wall ends soon enough so you can still do it.
Happy DK Mountain got in, such a fun track and in 8 Deluxe it overall looks and sounds great!
