I can see by the look of how this wool 'moves' that it is a proper heavy grade..Not like the ''lookey-likey'' copies that are much lighter weight ...Or {shudder} Nylon fleece!
My old Witney horse 'square' blanket has golden blanket stitching but is worn now...I have tried to sew it up but it doesn't look as good as the factory finished edging. The ''fluff'' of these blankets wears over the years, leaving a more ridged surface to the blanket...but new or old they are still very warm.
