I've tried to find this raw song from a certain point on TH-cam, but it was no where! It's one of my favorite songs from the movie, so let me share it with you c:

When he comes out and hits her with the "And I'll never LET YOU FALL" Me, as a child, started crying every time i used to watch this movie. Cheesey but i always loved it

The way he came and sang "and I'll never let you fall" just at the very moment Tumbelina was falling at her lowest (mentaly) because of the hard times she went through and her grief for her thought to be dead love is CINEMA. Like I was already crying hard for her pain but when he came in and embraced her I melted down. The sudden but yet smooth change of emotion broke me. I was crying from relief and fulfillment and also because a tiny part of me knew how hard it is to get a relationship like theirs in reality
One of the most underrated ending in Cinema!!! Live action could never ever evoke the emotional build up!!! Jodi shines as ever!!!!
Cornelius: "Will you marry me?"
Thumbelina: "I will. Thank you for actually asking instead having your mother force it to happen, or having your mouse buddy pitch it for you, or just being a general beetle about it."

Thumbalina: it's a long story
A very long story. You might say, a full length animated movie's worth of storytime...
One thing I never picked up on as a kid is how Thumbelina changes by the end of the movie. She's been so beaten down by the world and how it's treated her and you can really see it here. She's been knocked down and picked up and knocked down again only to repeat the process and she's just done with it. 'Let's be practical'? That's something she never would have said at the beginning of the movie. But the beauty of her character is that she doesn't become unkind or hardened by it. It's so subtle but so well done.
Not to mention there is so much more to 'Let me be your wings' then you would realise at first. Cornelius asks for her to let him by her wings, let him support and take care of her. In this current dynamic he is being put in a dominant role so to speak. (I'm not saying that he would abuse this dynamic cause he is clearly a cinnamon roll but he's definitely taking the lead in this. He is in control.) When they first meet, Thumbelina is at the height of her innocence and naivety. She's very sweet and well meaning but also I could imagine not mature enough for a serious relationship which is pretty much what they leap to right from the get go. Then shit gets complicated. Thumbelina is kidnapped, faced with many dangerous situations, ect, ect. By the end of the movie, with a lifetime worth of new experiences and a pretty jarring reality call Thumbelina doesn't need Cornelius to be her wings. 'My very own wings'. It's very much symbolic of her now being on equal terms with him. So, despite the discrepancies of how little they really know about each other, and only having met once, they actually have a decent starting point for a proper relationship. I'm also not saying that Thumbelina had to suffer to learn all that she did cause that's problematic in of itself, but because this is an old film it wouldn't have been questioned back then. And honestly, Thumbelina could have matured within the relationship itself like most young people do, but it wouldn't be nearly as exciting a story.
I 100% agree. I feel that when she sings the reprise she’s trying hard to tap into her naivety that she’s lost throughout the 6 months she’s been gone from home & that makes the “ everyday you’ll take me higher….lets be practical ” so much more gut wrenching. Another song that really helped to strengthen her character is “ once there was the sun” as throughout the first part of the film she was struggling but still holding onto the chance of seeing Cornelius & her mother again but it’s When Mrs dormouse tells her Cornelius is dead she breaks & loses faith. I would say after seeing Jacquimo she regains some control. Which leads her to break off marriage with mr mole because she feels “ if I can’t have my prince I won’t have anyone “. Eventually she sings but every time she starts she can’t continue because she doesn’t think she can. It’s that last notes in that “ everyday you’ll take me higher “ that really show how far she’s reaching. She’s trying so hard to make herself believe that Cornelius is still alive & will come back but the “ let’s be practical “ is her squishing that last shred of hope. It’s then when Cornelius sings “ AND ILL NEVER LET YOU FALL” that “ you.. it’s you!! Cornelius your alive “ is her hope bursting back to life along with the joy of knowing everything is alright.
I also always thought the reason thumbalina was able to change the seasons was because her beauty joy & warmth was most alive in her darkest moment & from the patch of weeds came the veil of the fairies
Thumbelina was screaming, "This is a weed patch!" And I was like, "Honey child, that's a tree." And then it zoomed out and I was like, "Well, damn. You right, sorry, babe."

even though this movie is cheesy af, and I even knew it back when I was really little, it has the best music and moments. this was definately one of my favourites parts. my heart ❤️ still bursts with joy for her when she sees Cornelius!

To me this song is perfect because it’s this moment she’s defeated in her thinking that Cornelius isn’t coming for her and he’s not coming back but throughout the whole movie she still believes Cornelius is coming back for her and she never gives up on him even when she’s presented with the toad and mole and beetle who offer her fame and money popularity; it’s only as when she finds out he’s “dead” that she’s fully convinced and fully given up I mean even during her wedding with the mole and her ring glows with images of Cornelius she starts to remember that “he’ll never forget her” and she still love him. I think that this is a true testament as to how strong love can be and how hard loving can be

Believe me I know this movie is cheesy AF but in all honesty, I'd have to say Cornelius was my childhood crush. The earlier version of this song towards the beginning of the movie was my favorite childhood song. I had no idea why but it was. Now 9 years later I understand. It's beautiful and the melody is gorgeous. I have my grandma to thank. She got me the DVD of this movie and I became obsessed. I watched it every day

After watching her singing Soon then straight to this, i can clearly see the difference in Thumbelina's demeanor. It's subtle, but it's def there. The Thumbelina who sings Soon is so innocent & have strong belief to the world and imagination that she kisses a picture of a fairy prince on a book.
This Thumbelina repeatedly shows Jacque that she doesn't believe that the place is what Jacque claims it is; she wants to just go home, be reunited with her mother and get some peaceful sleep for once; she cuts off her singing (which she definitely enjoys doing) and says "let's be practical" to her only loyal friend she has in her entire journey.
The Thumbeline who sings Soon is definitely still there and still enjoys singing, but had Cornelius not coming, she would have been fine just being home with her mother. She has accepted the fact that the love of her life is gone and is ready to just have a peaceful life where, for once, no one is forcing themselves on her.
i now cornilios is a cartoon movie character but he is cute and the acter who palyed him is a good singer.
