Ahhhh Saddlemen, the prettiest, shittiest seat in the game. I had an odd experience with them. I custom ordered one for my Street Bob and they were super responsive and helpful. I received it, mounted it, went for a ride with my girl and the damn pillion metal (where the backrest would attach) was digging into her...um...stuff. Apparently it was incredibly painful and while I could let that go since I ride a lot solo, the seat itself had me splayed out a bit more than stock. Ultimately, I wanted to return it. Well, guess what, it was at that point (same day I received it) that Saddlemen was no longer interested in returning emails. So, if you want a pretty seat, outstanding. Their diamond stitch looks great. If you want comfort, that's subjective. Didn't work for me. If you want customer support, LOL. It doesn't exist unless you're trying to order something.

Moto is the best way to start I think! lol. My bars are H-D Batwing Chizeled Bars 12" Black part number 55800299 or Chrome is 55800298. Those are Harley's part numbers. I am 6' and they are perfect for me
@@HowiesAdventures I agree!! Alway better to ride dirt before hitting the dangerous road. Best way to learn how to properly use BOTH brakes when needed. Thanks again
100% agree! No problem and ride safe brother.
Yo, I got 2020 street glide with the same 12' bars. What phone mount are you using?
I had to mix and match since the bars are as big as they are. I used this as the mount to the bars
www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/ram-mounts-torque-bar-mount?sku_id=1127225
Then this
www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/ram-mounts-double-socket-arm?sku_id=869163
Then the quad lock setup for my phone. It works great!
I have a 22 sgs with a 114. Two weeks back i rode a 131 and the torque was just there in spades right where i wanted it. So i will be doing a 131 with an aftermarket cam.
I have not ridden the 131 yet and I am afraid that if I do I’ll be doing the same lol
@723-Productions probably. Its just got instant torque. It felt like my z1000
@723-Productions also i have the ohlins screamin eagle rear shocks. They are set up for the weight of me plus pillion. The ride great with the pillion.
@@rockcrawlerchurch2976 I ended up doing Legends front and rear on this bike. It made a huge difference. I also bought a BMW R1250GSA which can be a lot of fun in the twisties lol
What road is this? looks like a nice road to cruise down. I would totally go Legends Suspension route.
This is River/Zoar rd just off of Route 2 in western MA. I have since added Legends front and rear and so far I am very happy with them! I just did them over winter so not too many miles yet.
Man im about to pull the trigger on a 23 RG special, i test drove it and felt fine, but i didn't get a chance to take it on the highway, is the sispension that bad? Makes me want to go back to my indian challenger, but indian dealers SUCK
Keep in mind when I made my comments about suspension I was explaining that I was an off-road guy so I was coming from that background not comparing different cruiser bikes. I have since upgraded both front and rear with Legends suspension tho and it’s amazing. Never rode an Indian to compare.
Got it, well thanks for the info! The indian challenger has an inverted front fork and fox monoshock on the rear that was amazing, but it was so hard to service/get parts for the thing I got rid of it, was seriously considering HD bc of all the great promotions, but I am seeing all these horror stories on suspension im like sheesh, I can't afford a new suspension right now, maybe I shouldn't, thanks again!
Well bought the road glide special, suspension isn't to bad, but I can definitely see where you guys are coming from. Gonna slap a suspension on her asap lol
@@hughmackenzie3540 It's an awesome bike and it only gets better with the suspension upgrades. The rear is for comfort and the front will change the handling.
Hey, great review. I'm really debating on the RG vs SG. I'm 6'4, so I'm hoping the SG doesn't feel too "cramped in" The bars may help with that- what size are yours and make? Thanks, ride safe!
Hi, Thank you for watching! The bars I have on my SG are Harley Davidson Batwing Chizeled 12" bars. Black part number 55800299 or Chrome 55800298. I just saw a pretty good video from Old Not Dead here on TH-cam. He rides a SG and is 6'4" video is called 9 Essential mods for your Harley Davidson motorcycle. Must do mods M8 114 Street Glide Special
Also either way you go SG or RG both are amazing motorcycles!
Im 6'4" also. I found the stock bars on my 22 sg wouldve been fine if they didnt tuck back in so much. I am up on the bars like its a dirt bikewhen im braking and hit my knees when i turn right. At super low speeds. Im tossing up between 10 and 12 inch bars.
Haha yes I have heard this from many people. I’ve been pretty happy with mine but the only other seat I have to compare it with is the stock seat.
Maybe i missed it but what seat did you go with?
I went with the Saddleman Roadsofa. It’s a great seat but does take a bit to break in. Now that it’s broken in I have many 700+ mile days on it and love it
@@HowiesAdventures awesome! Thank you for the reply
No problem
what brand handguards are you using?
Memphis Shades. Here is a link to them
www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/memphis-shades-hand-guards-for-harley-street-glide-2014-2017?sku_id=1214707
What type of bars are they??
Hi, Thank you for watching! The bars I have on my SG are Harley Davidson Batwing Chizeled 12" bars. Black part number 55800299 or Chrome 55800298
I had to add a stage 2 with aftermarket cam because I felt there wasn't enough power.
What cam did you go with? And what are your thoughts on it?
@@HowiesAdventures I did a fuelin reaper 472, screaming eagle filter add on, fuel Moto 2-1 rtx and made 119hp and 129trq and absolutely worth the money. So much more go power and with me i have a 21 ultra snake venom so have little extra weight plus my wife rides with me so man o man what a difference
@@CodyMcDonald89 I have ridden my bike a ton since I’ve made this video and have been thinking about a stage 2. Just installed front and rear legends suspension and that made a massive difference
@@HowiesAdventures see I’m stock suspension been wanting to do that but don’t want to spend the money lol. Also wsnted to add bling to the bike but…. It’s not a show bike I ride the shit out of my bike it’s a 21 and have 22k miles on it
@@CodyMcDonald89 Mine is no show bike and suspension was my biggest complaint. I have young kids so I can't ride as much as I want but when I do I ride a lot and tour with it. Suspension is my favorite thing I've done so far!
What are your slip ons
They are Rinehart 4” slip on’s. For me they are perfect sound good nice tone but not overly loud for the big mile days
Which windscreen is that?
Klockwerks 6.5”. I am super happy with it
get the olins I have legends front and rear on my 2015 street glide and my rear shocks failed me after about 3000 miies on them . Legend repaired them but tried to blame it on me. Go olins!
I already installed Legends on my bike since this video. Hopefully I have a better experience.
Hello from Pittsfield.
Haha that’s awesome! Thanks for watching the channel!
If you can keep temperatures at bay it will last. They run too hot to live a long time. Have a look into how to reduce temperature.
You are talking about the M8 engines?
@@HowiesAdventures yes, they are built to pass emissions not live forever. Dk customs explains it
@@ianm432 I’ll check it out
Add the Love Jugs fans and you will have a happy motor, and not stress on those hot days in traffic. I just got back from Sturgis, riding two up, and the last day there it was 102 degrees. My 2021 RG never got above 270 degrees, measured with an infrared gun next to the spark plug. Friends bikes who let me measure their temp were up to 120 degrees hotter.
Wow that's a massive difference! Thank you again!
I really want me a street glide
They are awesome bikes!
@@HowiesAdventures Ik man there comfy as shit and got a Bluetooth and there pretty quick bikes with a 114
don't do Ledgend i'am running super shox call Brian he will build you a pair of excellant units. i have done ledgend front units JUNK. running pro action now pretty good you might know that name from racing? I have a 21 street glide 2 years old 64,000 miles. completly stock. I'am also a racer from the Day. and yes we still follow it. Ok looking for your next video and your suspension choice's.
I already installed Legends front and rear. Only one ride on them so far so we will see. 64K on a 2 year old bike!!? That's awesome! I'll be updating along the way about the Legends
minute 1:46 Serial Killer
Ha! That is a possibility lol
@@HowiesAdventures .....lol
Take a look at TRIUMPH
Any certain model?
I totally agree to much can be to much if you want a fast bike buy a fast bike not a Harley or indian
Cruisers are great for cruising. Thank you for watching!
Air ride
I ended up going with Legends Revo a’s
roads down south suck bro
I’ve ridden them. Smooth as can be compared to up here.
I really dont want to hear that a bike for 30k has dogshit suspension...
Yea I totally agree but however I am spoiled when it comes to suspension being my offroad experience so many people don't feel the same as I do. I have since upgraded the suspension and it did help a lot. Plus keep in mind it depends where you ride. I brought the bike to Daytona Florida for bike week and rode it from SC. All those roads are in much better shape than what we have here in MA so it rode fantastic.
A suggestion: Don't clap your lips when you talk!
Thanks
WTF a 2019 with only 7500 miles lmfao. You wanna do a review and you are akickstand rider. GTFOH
