What brand are those head protection covers?
They are Ricochet. Very well made
really clean...........
Sure is!
GSA all day everyday... Just say no to pirates, pirate wear, and the 2 wheeled pirates ships.... yarghh....
The GSA gets used much more!
Mine only has 9
@@pos6666666 this only works for USA models and 1980-current year models
Need to turn the music up more, I can almost hear the engine revving up.
😂 sorry about that
$25,000 bike in the US. Anywhere else and this bike is easily worth $50,000
This guy won’t ever sell it. He’s been offered ridiculous money for it
Well you are spot on.. Love my GS and love my Road Glide.. I couldn't pick one and both fits in my garage 😊
I still couldn’t pick one if I had to haha
How long it took for Turing I might build for my bike
Every wheel is different. Also depends how much you know what you are doing. I would plan on a couple hours if it’s your first time
@@HowiesAdventuresnot bad it would be my first time though lol and nice bike by the way and the purple looks sick for sure
@@luismelendez935 thank you
What is the purpose of that other outlet with yellow cap underneath the electric starter? Is there any other liquid we need to top off or just another exit for engine oil? Seems weird 9:31
@@RahulThakur-jj5hz yes electric start. Yes just the oil
October 15 2024!!! Im 35 with a 2024 Roadglide and just 6 months in I want a GS after trying one in Texas… coming from a sport bike world I think the GS offers a lil bit of everything! Plus wheelies are do more doable 🤣🤣 Letsssss see if I man up and trade the bike for a BMW
I absolutely love my GS and it gets ridden more than the H-D without a doubt because it does everything.
8mm? I'm sorry but there's no metric on a harley, it's 5/16 not 8mm✌️this video is not giving out proper info and should be removed.
We are all allowed to have our opinions lol. Thanks for watching anyway
@HowiesAdventures You're welcome, Fortunately we don't need opinions when we have a Fact based Owners Manual not written with opinions, you should be able to see the importance of that being a Harley Davidson vlogger putting out the obvious wrong info, it is sad how many other people who commented clearly received no owners manual also, and have no clue to what they're working on either😉 be carful using the wrong tools, and ignoring the owners manual, it could get expensive ✌️
@Rpm68 Lighten up, Francis
@bluesriderDF triggered is more fun sorry, but thanks for your utmost concern✌️
5/16 is 8MM
I've jumped a train and rode it thru to the otherside
Did you really??
Love the GSA
It’s a fantastic bike!
@@HowiesAdventures ever think about the Pan American? Harley
@@CheeseBiker4Life yes. I did test ride one but for me personally I prefer the BMW. I do think the Harley is a really cool bike though.
LOL! HEY! I see you lookin at me. I thought that was just me.
Perfect music to say how wicked these widow makers were
totally agree
Did you have to change the front crash guards to add the lower ratings? My 21 street glide has chopped crash bars.
No, I didn't because my bike is a 2019 and it did not come with the chopped crash bar. It has the full-size bar.
I know im late to this party but i am in a similar boat in some ways. The culture isn’t so much a thing to me. I am torn between the relaxed and enjoyable cruising of the Harley and the capability and utility of the Beemer. I think the only answer is to do what you did. HAVE BOTH!!! Lol. Well done sir, well done.
Thank you haha. It’s definitely not an easy choice. Even now it’s difficult to pick which one to ride
Man… I just watched your video again and then I saw that I had already commented on it!! I thought I was watching it for the first time again. Damn……. Im about to go drop stupid money on one or the other. I’ll let you know if i find a way to find your review again!😂🤣
@@hoellc That's funny haha. Let me know which way you go and if you have any questions on either bike just let me know.
Man I do understand your point about the differences in the two bikes and which one would you keep. I have a Yamaha Fjr that I prefer and ride most of the time but the 2019 ultra limited is more suited for two up or long rides. I am considering trading it for something like the bmw K1600 B. The bmw while still heavy its a lot more of a sport touring fun machine and it even looks better. My wife doesn’t share my opinion.
Yes my wife won’t even look at the bmw haha. She much prefers the Harley. Growing up with a off-road background I tend to ride the BMW more
1. Remove top/bottom rear shock bolts. 2. Remove wishbone bolt at the end of linkage (not the swingarm side) 3. Remove chain off rear sprocket. 4. Remove the swing arm pivot bolt. 5. Slide the swingarm back half an inch. 6. Shock will slide out the bottom.
Freakin nice
do you like the shocks?
Yes I do. They make a big difference
It's a long way to Canada from there. You should have gone up in mid October.
Depends where in Canada. I’ve been up since.
@@HowiesAdventures I keant to do the video. It wouod have been more colorful. There's another mid October coming up. 😉
@@413TomaccoRoad this is very true haha
The Harley’s true negotiating power is comfort on long roads as far as the bike itself. But the tangible benefits it brings are vast. I don’t have a Harley. But I have t-shirts from Vegas through California and in the Islands of Hawaii. BMW is the utility knife of motorcycles. And I want to say that the 1250 GS has a good safety feature. You can see it on the road due to the high center of gravity of the rider.
I completely agree with you. The only other feature that I would add that the Harley brings is a social aspect. There is a ton of hog clubs or other Harley groups that far outnumber any other brand bike making it much easier to find similar riding style buddies. Not saying you can't find others just that Harley in itself is a massive culture.
Traded my 2018 heritage for a 2022 r1250 gs a couple of years ago. The BMW dealer made me an offer I couldn't refuse. The only regret I have u that I didn't make this move sooner. At 67 and carrying a few physical impairments, if this gs hadn't come along, I probably would have had to hang up my key fob. It is the most comfortable and well balanced bike I've ever owned. Thank you BMW.
They really are an incredible bike! I was riding mine today and the thought of how impressed with the engine alone came to mind.
Why the music😭
Sorry lol
Was also thinking of switching from HD Ultra Limited to 1250GS as I am older and would love to shave some weight. I usually do long road trips and was wondering what you thought of the overall wind protection. I do mostly highway riding and don't plan for much off road. Probably spoiled by the faring I think. Test rode a 1300gs and it certainly was a different ride. I found wind and road noise to be quite a bit more than my HD. Thanks for your input!!!!
Yes, you are correct there is quite a bit more wind protection on the H-D. However, I have done some major miles on the highway and found it still comfortable. If I am planning more back roads, I take my BMW as the suspension is far better. If I am planning a mostly highway or freshly paved roads the H-D is 100% the way to go. To make it simple the BMW is the best all-around bike and the H-D is the king of the highway.
Nice ride & video - heading to the AM area next week for 2 weeks - cant wait to climb this mountain !! Including the Catskills & Stowe, VT - 2 wheels down - Tim from Ohio
Thank you very much. It's a beautiful area to explore so I am sure you will love it. Ride safe brother and thank you for watching.
Where did you get the carb?/ carb parts
This was a buddies build. He got a lot of parts from EBay or a local Suzuki dealer that had a lot of new old stock
How are you liking these? I'm thinking about it.
Yes, they helped a lot. I have also installed the front cartridge kits, and they are awesome! The rear helped a lot with comfort and the front make it handle much better.
@@HowiesAdventures Thanks. I see you are in Massachusetts. I'm from Peabody. I'm Texas now. Have a great night.
@@LyntisMoten yea man. North Adams the other side of the state haha. I drive truck for a living I go out that way often
The Harley culture is not made up of hard core riders like it use to be. Harley riders don't travel like they use to. They trailer them. You are completely WRONG.
I appreciate you sharing your opinion and thank you for watching the video.
Excellent video
@@ashtonmarrero7932 thank you very much!
we had a white and black one, freekin nuts.
Looks great but you should of had someone hold the camera for you. I got dizzy from watching.
Unfortunately nobody wanted to help with the camera lol. I am hopeful for the future on better videos
Easy choice
Which one for you?
Bringing classics to life my man
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. I've been on the fence for weeks on whether to buy a 2024 1250GSA or a 2024 Street Glide. This put me over the edge and I will be buying the GSA tomorrow. Really great presentation (honest and not condescending) and points. The Harley dealer here in Meridian, ID is absolutely HORRIBLE! A matter-of-fact, there are so dishonest I don't think I would ever buy another Harley-Davidson...........and I've owned 6 of them.
Wow thank you for the kind words. I am very happy it helped. You will be very happy with the BMW. It’s a fantastic bike!
That looks amazing ❤
Diem itu punya seeng

I really want me a street glide
They are awesome bikes!
@@HowiesAdventures Ik man there comfy as shit and got a Bluetooth and there pretty quick bikes with a 114
Any regrets?! How do you like the boat/ having. Jett boat !? I’m trying to pull the trigger on one -
My only regret is not enough time to enjoy it. I heard all the rumors that jet boats are different to maneuver at slow speeds and I don’t have that to be an issue at all especially with the two engines. Easy to work on and perfect for family trips. Kids love it!
That softail transmission looks a lot like a touring model transmission, are they the same ,?unlike the evo softail models the softail models the transmission cases are different etween softail models and touring.
To be honest I am not sure
Man thank you for covering this comparison. I’ve been seriously trying to talk myself out of trading off my 2019 SGS. I’m just so over spending all this cash on “fixing” what HD should’ve had on these from the get go. That and, for me anyway, the HD culture is more of a con than a pro. I need to get on a GS and either pull the trigger or spend the money on more HD mods.
You are very welcome. I absolutely ride my GS much more than the StreetGlide haha
@@HowiesAdventures I’d imagine if I had both sitting in the garage the majority of the solo miles would be on the GS. I still think selling the two up idea would be a little harder since the lady is pretty smitten by the HD
@@OutKartnAround my wife has not once been on the GS. She thinks it’s the ugliest bike there is. My daughter has come for a ride on it. The H-D definitely is the better bike for two up. So yes solo miles the GS takes the win
@@HowiesAdventures brother I don’t want to have two expensive two wheeled machines in this garage 😅 gonna have to ask the boss for one big raise soon
@@OutKartnAround totally understand that
Wow.
Worth about 25,000 right there 💯💪🏁😎
In my neighborhood!
I am only 50 minutes away or so from this area. Just over the border.
If you’re ever in the area and want to ride around, let me know. I have an Ultra Limited and ride often.
@@BigSkyImagery awesome sounds good!
Where did you start your trip from?
I am in western Massachusetts. About 15 minutes to NY and 10 minutes to VT
Duuuuude. I was thinking "no way would anyone compare these 2", because that's exactly what I'm looking at for a long-distance bike. Sure enough. There you are. I actually typed in "gs" btw, because I figured no one would actually choose a GSA to compare. LOL.
That’s funny! I really thought I was the only one to want these two bikes. I made a few posts on different groups on facebook and quickly realized I was not the only one. So I decided to make the video
Ahhhh Saddlemen, the prettiest, shittiest seat in the game. I had an odd experience with them. I custom ordered one for my Street Bob and they were super responsive and helpful. I received it, mounted it, went for a ride with my girl and the damn pillion metal (where the backrest would attach) was digging into her...um...stuff. Apparently it was incredibly painful and while I could let that go since I ride a lot solo, the seat itself had me splayed out a bit more than stock. Ultimately, I wanted to return it. Well, guess what, it was at that point (same day I received it) that Saddlemen was no longer interested in returning emails. So, if you want a pretty seat, outstanding. Their diamond stitch looks great. If you want comfort, that's subjective. Didn't work for me. If you want customer support, LOL. It doesn't exist unless you're trying to order something.
Haha yes I have heard this from many people. I’ve been pretty happy with mine but the only other seat I have to compare it with is the stock seat.
Do you use loctite on the top and bottom shock mount bolts? Manuel says use 2701 but wasn’t sure how necessary it is.
I didn’t but it’s not a bad idea to use some
👍👍👍 from Lithuania. Thanks
