The songs were as if like old, but performance was done like in 90-ies.

Such performance matched by style and mode the 90-ies.

Always loved this concert. Not only was Elvis at the top of his game, but this format really suited him. You can see how much fun he is having sitting in-the-round with his friends, just like playing to each other in their livingroom. The casual atmosphere really lets Elvis bring out the best in himself.

Note that Elvis sounded just as good performing LIVE as he did on his recordings.
I think Elvis was always trying to do different live, as said himself in the 50's, that's why he danced, he gooffed around and did different versions of the songs. And when we have a good quality live recording is always better to listen then the studio version.

Elvis Presley was the perfect Adonis, elegant hands, beautifully dressed, great singer, performer, actor and dancer. Above all he was a very sensitive, empathic, generous and gracious man, who tried to help everybody around him. He once looked for fans, an older couple, who often were at the gate of Graceland but suddenly didn't show up anymore. Elvis started to worry about them and managed to find them in a trailer park. The man had become ill and was in hospital. Elvis Presley paid the hospital bill for them! Great human being!

I saw Elvis in concert in here in Alabama the 70’s. Oh my goodness!!!! One of the best concerts I have ever seen. My boyfriend sat between me and his sister and we nearly beat him half to death waving our arms! LOL! My Mama was there with binoculars just to see that gorgeous face! It never crossed my mind that he was Mama’s age…. That man was one the most handsome men ever born and soooooo talented! So fortunate to have seen him perform live.

I love all kinds of music but he will always be at the top of that list.. it's amazing truly.. I'm very thankful it was preserved truly..

Just recently saw the 50th anniversary of this program and it brought back so many wonderful memories of this concert. The concept of doing this NBC Special was nothing short of genius. This was Elvis at his best with no orchestra or big production. So pure. So good. So memorable.
