Neil Godfrey there was a guy with 8/7off also involved. So it is less possible to hit the set, though he obviously hit his set. He also wanted to make the preflop-potsize bigger because of this.

honestly he woudlnt even need headphones, all anyone has to do is communicate to him a few simple details like "strong, weak, bluff". He could have a device that just thumps or vibrates a certain way for each scenario, then let mike decide how he wants to approach.

I think there's something to the hat speculation. He may either be adjusting the headset or it is a signal to his accomplice to send information on his opponents hand. It happens much too often in key spots.

The “Fundamental Theorem of Poker” says that statistically impossible positive results require you to know your opponents cards.
If you know statistics and probability, you know what he does is impossible without some sort of "extra" tool not eligible to all other players. If you accept that every system/process has an output and it's output (in this case winning at cards) follows a bell curve, and you see that you have an outlier from the bell curve, you know something isn't right, that there is a special cause. The use of phones and electronic devices have become so proliferated at various casino poker rooms that I haven't walked into a poker room in over 1 year for a cash game or tournament over $50. There are just too many ways to cheat now that the casino allows. This too is interesting, because basically a lot of these same casinos ABSOLUTELY DONT allow these devices when you're playing at their house games (against the house card games). Hmmm, this speaks volumes to me that they allow this differentiation to occur within the same casino. Wonder why?

@@maybenot7298 The headset is supposed to go in front of your ear, so yeah, he's probably having issues hearing. Pushing it on his skull probably helps with resonance. But he also uses the move to look less suspicious when he looks at his crotch. After every crotch stare he will grab the tip of the cap to signal he understood and often look into the camera to his left, probably to communicate with his accomplice.
He needs to know if his suck out cards are coming before he calls.

It struck me as odd that the commentators so heavily sound like hype men for Postle. Until I realized they're giving him all the pertinent information he needs and also telling him exactly what to do.

I don't think the commentators were in on this at all - they're just humans trying to make sense of Postle crushing it, night after night. He had the hole cards in his lap. The only question to me is whether that was configured by somebody on the inside, or by Postle himself.

1. I don't really fault the commentators. By most measures they weren't fantastic poker players, and when you see Mike do this day after day, you're not thinking he's cheating.
2. I agree re: inside job but a few things to ponder. A. we know from Veronica that JFK had the live stream on his phone (not the delayed one), so it was broadcasting, and it was a generally known. B. Postle had info on his LinkedIn that suggested he helped set up the live stream originally. He deleted his LinkedIn page the day after the accusations were made public (which imo is quite suspicious). C. There was zero security around the peek room, and it would have been quite easy for Postle to gain access and figure out what the stream URL was

However you'd have thought the commentary team would have a good enough understanding of poker to realise the plays he is making are completely impossible. They are commentating poker at the end of the day. It doesn't take long to have a basic understanding of it and I'm sure some people started to click on.
Didn't the guy have like 60 consecutive winning sessions. I just can't get my head round how everyone who watches these videos can immediately almost guarantee that he is cheating but the commentary team couldn't figure it out over 60 consecutive winning sessions. Doesn't really make sense to me.
@@ctom6068 yeah I think though that if you're not an expert, you're just trying to make sense of what you're seeing. You assume Postle just gets great reads. You've heard that he crushed online poker (of course, nobody actually knew that - Postle just told people).
Never underestimate the power of humans to come up with explanations for things they're seeing that otherwise don't make sense.

Bluetooth Bone conduction Headset in a Hat. the microphone is located inside the Bill/RIM. Bone conduction transducers transmit sound directly to the inner ear through vibration and are located under the brim just above the ears (one side or 2 sides depending on if you want to listen in just one ear and you can configure this).
The controller that lives in the bill (it's also where the 1,000 mAh battery is housed) has three buttons on it. You can quickly learn their functions to pause/play music, answer or end phone calls, and adjust volume. It's in a convenient spot to reach up and push the buttons, though it's also big enough to feel a bit obtrusive hiding under the bill.At first, listening to music on Cynaps seems very ordinary. This is because it sounds like there's a tiny speaker in the hat, which everyone around you can hear. But take the hat off, or give it to a friend to use, and you can barely hear anything. You hear about as much as you would from a friend wearing headphones. That's when it really sinks in that the sounds you were hearing were transmitted through your skull.Sound is a bit muddy, without a lot of crisp separation between trebles, mid-range, and bass. You can make it sound better by tightening the Velcro strap (as much as is comfortably possible) and adjusting the angle of the rim. You can also improve the audio by covering your ears, or wearing earplugs - though that basically defeats the entire purpose. These are available as bare bones self-install modules which can be used to install into any hat.

I would really like to know how many people were in this together. I don't believe that everyone including commentators were included, there is just to big of a risk that someone would spill the beans, and there is not enough money to go around, 250k is a lit, but when you divide it by 5, 6, 7,..... It doesn't sound so attractive any more.
it doesnt even have to be someone in the booth who can see cards. Someone could have hidden a camera in that room and is standing around outside. Or just has a backdoor to the system (this would allow the casino to blame outside party to maintain reputation).
@@codmott286 Sure, maybe has just has a signal receivers in his keys and he is intercepting the signal from RFID reader built in to poker table, but my guess is that TD must be working with him. I think they should inform the gaming commission and police before going public, so that they could catch them red handed.
These are the two commentators who seemed to know something was going on but were also the most quiet about anything being weird.

The simplest solution is usually the correct one.
One text = call
Two text = raise
Three text = fold.
Someone in the commentary room could be texting him. Doesnt even have to read the phone.
The take that multiple of the commentators are in on it seems far-fetched to me. What's that conversation even like? Mike walks up to the commentators and he's like, "Yo, so I'm cheating the game for thousands of dollars, and I'll pay you all to say good things about me in the booth." The idea that 5 or 6 people were in on this, but nothing came out about it for a year is a lot less likely than it being a 2 person job.
Yeah my opinion on the commentators is that it’s like any sort of poker content.
Take Andrew Neeme vlogs. Everyone loves Andrew. And the way he portrays poker makes it look like the losers are having a good time gambling it up, and the winners are all fair fighting and clean. This is exactly what we’d all like poker to be: in the long run, the bad players still enjoy themselves while the good players get the money in a clean, respectable way.
So, poker: it’s fun! It’s gambling! Don’t question how mike would manage to find a jam here with 99 if btn had like KJ and the bb was jamming Th7h himself and was promoting his hand to first place, but in this scenario he just knows he’s against a set.
Also if everyone was in on it, why was Veronica commentating for a year? Wouldn’t they want to get her out of the booth if she was a threat to kill the golden goose?
Also, these commentators are stones employees (I think). They don’t want to be saying things on video that might deter people from coming. So it’s credible to just tell people that mike Postle is a former OL superlag smasher who brings that style to the live felt now. So just ignore the insane results. Mike is just a god of reading people.
One thing to go after Postle, where the proof is his crazy win rate and uncanny reads, claiming the commentators are suspect for nothing more than doing their jobs is bullshit. Don't let this become a witch hunt where you accuse ANYBODY with ZERO proof. You're treading into libel grounds here Doug.

That’s not libel that’s a TOTALLY reasonable (and dare I say ONLY reasonable) interpretation of the commentary video

My theory.... He has an RFID reader/booster on his phone and/or key fob & a bone induction speaker in his hat. He intercepts the RFID data being sent from the table to the production system and sends the data via the booster to a nearby accomplice. This way, they don't necessarily need the management to be in on it. After a few orbits the accomplice on the laptop can determine which RFID codes are for which cards as he watches the stream and each card is exposed. He simply has to match the code being sent to him to the cards he is seeing on the stream. Once he has matched all of the cards in the deck to the RFID codes that Mike is intercepting and sending to him, he then knows exactly which cards each player is holding and he simply relays that information to Mike via his hat-based bone induction speaker. This is why Mike presses the side of his head in key situations because he needs a good connection to be able to hear his accomplice clearly. And he likely checks his phone on occasion to make sure the interceptor/booster is still running or to restart/turn it on/off. This makes technological & logical sense as it explains pretty much all of his odd physical movements, his habit of having his phone/key fob out & on the table & his absurdly unrealistic win rates.
This hand is a pure pure mistake by postle. I think when he started cheating the game he set rules for himself like accepting coolers, make -ev plays, etc. But greed is a powerfull drug and postle addiction to it makes him fold here.
This hand made it clear for me that postle is cheating, thanks for pointing this one out Polk!

What was the guy in blue typing before Postle looked down? He also does two fidgety things immediately after, finger crack and chapstick. Specifically you can send SMS with computer. He goes type, fidget, deadpan he'll fold. I would look at other hands where you side by side to see if he is typing in chat right before the hat grab look down.

In Matusow’s interview last night, Postle presented quite a few defenses; my takeaways:
Local players in Sacramento are jealous of him - you know, the people who have been cheated and are the only group of people sticking up for him
Joey and Doug wanted their names mentioned on Sport Center.
Something about Russ Hamilton not being mentioned on Sports Center.
He and the other players on the Stones live stream are all losing money so fast they are continually rebuying and adding to their stacks, even in the 10 minutes before the broadcast starts
It is a lie that he is up $250K in the past year, it is more like $125K. So he won consistently for a year at only 30BB per hour, which is only im-Postle-able, not doubly so.
He has been crushing the game for 16 years and 100 people know it, just ask them
The reason he is such a big winner is his secret strategy, and that is: He is a fun-loving guy.
He plays 54o against Chris Moneymaker, T2 if someone mentions Doyle Brunson, 95o against a friend who busted another friend with it; that explains why he plays as if he could see his opponents’ cards.
The bulge that can be plainly seen in his hat is not there, and therefore not worth talking about so he quickly changed the subject
He’s always been on his phone more than anyone else. He used to watch the broadcast stream while playing to see his opponents cards.
Q: People ask how you can Soul read your opponents when you are always staring at your crotch? A. I’ve always sat with my left hand under my crotch. (You couldn’t make this stuff up, and this means he’s actually sitting on his phone).

The solution is to let him play (since now) in other circumstances - I mean in other rooms, and check his whole body before. And we'll see how good he is.
That's what's so funny. He claims that everyone is just jealous that he is the greatest player ever and he has this amazing live read ability, but he only plays $1/$3 and $2/$5 games... If he is such poker god, why is he wasting his time at these stakes? He should be rich as fuck playing high stakes all the time.

You too can do it. Here is the kit. Boneinduction headsets and caps. 2 accomplices. One being in the commentator team. A live feed into your phone streamed into your bluetooth induction headset. Some kind of record.playing poker so you can claim you ve always been good at the game and no remorse. Now you re good to go. Oh yes and you need a live stream to do it on with your accomplices. Id your 3tlrd accomplice is a poker room official, then you are top of the range for the scam. Good luck. Just try to make enough mistakes you dont win an unrealistic amount of bbs per hour. Because that is ultimately the big flaw in that scam idea.

So if they're cheating it would make the most sense that he sees the live stream on his phone or if the commentators are helping him he could just listen to them. If he is having trouble hearing the commentators, they would have to repeat over and over "Mike's gonna find a fold". The commentator's would be mentioning the cards of the player's in Mike's hands repeatedly, much more so than with other players. You can see him struggling and adjusting his hat, looking confused, while the commentators are like yeah Mike's gonna fold, Mike's gonna fold.

Doug, Joey, and last but not least Veronica, you guys are warriors On and Off the felt, I am so thankful for you guys putting your necks on the line for the poker community. The commentators straight buttering up postle are nothing short of disgusting. This is all so dirty that at this point when folks like Negreanu and Matusow, two people who have helped me to shape my poker game and that I have tremendous respect for are blindly defending postle they themselves look shady and at the very least arrogant and ignorant.. Some things in life never change. Now when I watch the hands with postle, knowing that other players are playing by the rules, something that doesn't typically cross my mind, has made it a joy to watch players like Marle at the same table as postle while she plays her best. Seeing the guy next to Bart Hanson with JJ on AAQ take it to the river. I grew up playing hockey and at the end of the game there's a line of handshakes from both teams. Camaraderie in poker exists. theDiReW0lf....Too late I reckon. With their FAKE commentary from their FAKE so called experts and their FAKE investigations, Stones already looks like a place to avoid if you want a fair game! I know casinos have to stack the odds in their favour but to go to these lengths could undermine the whole gambling community/industry.
There's about 95% chance it will be a criminial court case, especially because Stones is in on it to some extent, meaning jail time.

No because part of knowing your opponents hands means even if you are behind you can still win the pot by bluffing your opponent out. Unless they have the nuts they mite start getting scared at your huge bets. You ofc know your bluffing but they don't.. And if they do call losing that hand won't hurt your earnings at the end of the night because you know all opponents whole cards. Been done before, You will always win even as a slightly average player.
