Why do places tell you oh you need PPF and Ceramic coati g and I heard you need one that’s quality done is this right?

With Some PPF it isn't hydrophobic. The biggest difference is a PPF prevents stone chips. A coating makes the car easier to clean. So if your PPF isn't hydrophobic the rest of the car will be easy to clean and the PPF will be a chore.
