    Man, it's rare to find an installer like this who pays attention to all the little details. I used to do installs 15 years ago. I've done amp installs here and there for my cars but haven't done one in few years. I've never seen a fuse holder mounted like that before. Great, superb, clean install.

    Wow great install @fivestarcarstaereo! I just bought the 12 online and received it in the mail today. Getting installed by a local shop but was cruising reviews for fun. I love how you take the time to give others info and comment back to questions. Good people are still out there! Thanks for being one of them.

    I NEVER run RCA next to or with the power and ground. That being said I liked the way you installed it. Personally I pull out seats and carpet up and run power and RCAs on opposite sides of vehicle I noticed when ran together a hum or buzz in background

    I got one of these (the 12" version) coming Thursday for my 2011 Ranger extended cab. It's replacing a 13 year old 100 watt 8" powered Bazooka that has developed a short in the female power cable receptacle. Got the whole interior already covered in sound dampening material. I can't wait.

    I bought the 8” version of these for two of my vehicles and love them. The smaller size made it easy to put in the corner of the trunk in one car and under the storage shelf in another to keep luggage and storage space. I see a lot of folks on YT are just tapping into existing speakers and not using the remote but I have an aftermarket head unit so I ran the RCAs and remote wire. I’m no bass head so I can’t compare it to the trunk fillers/rattlers some folks love but personally I’m very satisfied and they definitely make a difference.

    hey man, I watched this video after I had a stereo install company put mine in, great job, THE ISSUE with this video is that I heard you say you can use the same wiring set up if you need to move it to change it to another size RF say 10 inch. Well I did that and it just cost me 400.00 dollars, when I unpluged the first and plugged in the second one it blew the amp, Thanks much!!!!!!!!

      I haven't had the time to install the p300 yet. I'd probably install it when I get back from vacation. I'll keep you posted. Engine sound (humming) while playing music with a sound set up is more often an alternator problem or open/ grounded wiring somewhere. Power lines should run along the driver side, audio lines should run along the passenger side.

    • @Dabz2084
      @Dabz2084 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alex Alonso I just finished with my install today. Mine didn't had any humming sound while playing any music. The p300-12 sounds pretty good, just enough not be a douche to your neighbors peace and quite space. 😊

      Kwik Silber thank you for your info, i fix my problem! Was my factory amp of my car for some stupid reason the factory think is a good idea to bring inside the cabin an Exhaust sound from all the speakers and of course when I installed the p300-12 that exhaust sounds when way to loud from the subwoofer amp! So I find the wire in the stock amp and I cut that bitch off! Right after that was like magic!! No more exhaust sounds! Thank you again for writing me back!

    I have questions...
    1.) How do you get the sound from the head unit to the sub if using a stock head unit?
    2.) Is an LOC needed or is there one built in to this sub?
    3.) What if you have a stock head unit that has automatic bass reduction at higher volumes?

    I got the p300-12 in my 2015 Veloster Turbo and I love it! But my only problem is that after I did the installation I'm getting an engine noise in my rockford fosgate subwoofer and this happens all the time with the radio on or off! Also happens from 1000rpm to 2000rpm
    I have a factory radio in my car so i connected in the high level directly to my factory subwoofer of my car.
    I'm using also a 4 gauged rockford fosgate kit and all my wires and also my wires are protected by a plastic black cover like the one you use in your videos the difference is that use it from the battery positive to the trunk of the car. We are not professionals audio tech like you guys and after the installation was done, now I'm getting this engine noise from my rockford fosgate subwoofer.
    i start troubleshooting the problem and the first thing I did was disconnecting the audio input from the amp and the engine noise was gone! But after I reconnect it back the engine noise was back! I also have the ground of my p300-12 to one of the hooks of the trunk of the car in my opinion looks pretty solid.
    What can I do? I need to fix this problem with out buying a cheep RCA sound reduction box to cover the problem. What's your suggestions for my problem? Thank you and by the way I love all your videos and I just subscribe on your youtube channel, it was this video of the p300-12
    that make me buy this unit! You are super professional. Thank you again.

    • @FiveStarCarStereoInc
      @FiveStarCarStereoInc  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Alex Alonso it sounds like your car may have the Fake engine noise or automatic noise canceling(ANC). It is sound pushed into the woofer from the amp. It can be bypassed, however the last time I did it, the guy brought me the how to notes. He found the on a Veloster forum.

    • @cubancartel508
      @cubancartel508 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Five Star Car Stereo yes you are very right that was the problem, I fix it already going to the factory amp and cutting the 4th wire from the A connector from a 2012 to 2015 is yellow and from a 2016 to 2017 is a blue wire and right after that magic!!! The engine noise is gone for good! Thank you for replying, you are my favorite audio tech by far! Please keep doing what you are doing.

    hey, I have a 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander and i wanted to add a sub. My options are either the P300 10T or the P300 12T. I dont want to take up much space as its a family car and we need all the space we can get. The factory Speaker provide quite alot of bass but i was wondering about the main difference between the 10 and 12. I mainly listen to Rap and some sad music with some low end bass. I dont want something that will rattle windows and make the car rattle/squeak. Whats my best option. Thanks. Not sure if youll see this message.

    Hello, my Rockford Fosgate P300-10 when the Auto Turn On is set to auto there is a loud bass noise when I turn off my car, but when it is set to DC 12v there is a loud bass noise when I start the car. I drive a 2013 Honda Accord Sport with a stock stereo. We spliced the back speakers’ wire and connected the sub to the splice wire. We also noticed the when the sub is set on auto will power on if we move the sub. Do you have any idea what could be causing the noise?

    • @dan665_
      @dan665_ 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Low level inputs usually have higher quality, but coming out of a stock head unit, there really won't be any difference. Use a hi/lo converter if you want to have an adjustable bass knob. If you're fine with using the head unit to control bass for all speakers at once, then you won't need a converter. I know I'm a year late but I hope I could help.

    (Assuming an aftermarket head unit that can act as a crossover for 4 aftermarket 6.5" coaxials in the doors)
    I assume setting the x-cover no higher than 120 Hz? So, turn the x-over knob to the 11:30 o'clock position?

    Great install. I was an installer 20 years ago, and I'm out of touch, but I can tell your job is clean and well done. A couple questions. 1. What size, and what kind of tape are you using to tie together and cover the flex loom? It almost looks like some sort of cloth tape from the video. 2. Did you fabricate a bracket for the fuse holder at the battery stand, and what is that made out of? 3. Did you solder something to the battery terminal, and what kind of torch is that? I'm about to put some stuff in, and all that looked new to me.

    • @FiveStarCarStereoInc
      @FiveStarCarStereoInc  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The tape is called Tesa and it is a cloth like tape. It is similar to the tape they use in the old German car. We make our fuse mounts out of 1/4 abs plastic, it is high temp and holds up great. The torch is from Power Probe and is awesome. We soldered on the ring terminal at the battery. Thanks for watching

      +Five Star Car Stereo thanks! I watched the video again on my laptop instead of my phone and could actually see the ring on the terminal this time. on the phone I couldnt see it. One last thing: how are high level inputs into amps nowadays? still susceptible to noise, or its gotten better?

    I'm looking to add a Rockford p300-12 to factory radio in a 2007 Nissan Sentra (6 speakers, non-Rockford).
    I see PAC has an amplifier integration interface/adapter (part: AOEM-NIS2) that should allow me to use low level/RCA inputs.
    However the details for that adapter AOEM-NIS2 on PAC's website state it only supports Sentra's from 1995 - 2006.
    Do you know if AOEM-NIS2 adapter can be used for a 2007 Sentra? Or is there a different interface I should check out? Or... am I limited to using high level inputs & tapping the speaker wires if I want to keep the factory radio?

    I have a question about one of the materials used in this install video... what is the "velcro like" tape that you used to bundle & wrap the wiring harnesses together in this video below?
    (at around 3:05 in the video, you use electrical tape & some other sort of tape to wrap/bundle the wiring together... before you start using the flex tube)
    Can you tell me what that other "velcro like" tape is? What brand & type?

    I have a 2000 SS Monte Carlo w/ factory Amp in trunk. Would you suggest not hooking up the factory Amp or do both? Also, want the speaker facing the front of the car not towards the rear, does it make a big difference? Thank you!

      If you are replacing the factory speakers I would remove the factory amp. You can play with the placement to see what sounds best for your car. We face this box all over the place depending on the customer requirements.

      +SSF S Rockford make some very load low power ( radio power) speakers called Prime. They also have the Punch, they are a step up and naturally sound better. The box only has power for the sub. Keep the rear speakers just replace them with something nice to complement the subwoofer.

    I first off would like to know if you have the actual product dimensions for the 300-10 and 300-12.
    Performance related, Is there much difference between both?

    Last, how do you recommend fitting this so it doesnt move around the trunk? Thanks!

    Looking to put the 10" version in my trunk along with upgrading to a 4 channel amp. Would I be able to use a fuse with two outputs to run both of them or do I have to have two separate fuses at the battery?

    • @FiveStarCarStereoInc
      @FiveStarCarStereoInc  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you run a copper 4 awg wire to a distribution block you should be fine with 1 wire. Why not just do a 5 channel? Rockford make a couple of them and the Prime is pretty reasonable.

    • @theradioison
      @theradioison 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a good suggestion. Because I'm upgrading the sub first to a powered sub then doing a 4 channel later for the mids and hi's, going 5 channel isn't the most cost effective. I'll check out the rec though as I'm still planning the system out!

  • @Kylandsk8
    @Kylandsk8 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great video! I have a 2001 lincoln continental and I'm thinking about getting one of these for it, but I had a few questions first and it would be amazing if you could help me. So the deal is that my car has two factory amplifiers, one for the front and back door speakers, and one for two rear deck speakers. The rear deck speakers aren't working, and I suspect that the amp that powers them is broken. I was wondering if I can somehow install the P300-12 in place of the factory amp that powers the rear deck speakers. I'm not sure if this is possible since the wiring on the factory amp seems pretty thin, and since the factory amp's wiring is confusing and I can't tell what is going where, so I don't know how I would figure out what wires to connect to the P300-12, and where to connect them.
    I am also trying to decide if I want to go with this subwoofer, or this one:
    www.amazon.com/JBL-GT-BassPro12-12-Inch-Powered-Subwoofer/dp/B007GYU30K/ref=sr_1_8?s=car&ie=UTF8&qid=1481584625&sr=1-8&keywords=infinity+subwoofer
    If you could let me know which one would be better that would be great too.
    These are probably obvious questions, however, I am new to car audio and would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks.

    • @FiveStarCarStereoInc
      @FiveStarCarStereoInc  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kylandsk8 they are both nice small box systems, however in your car small box systems are not so good. Your car is kind of bass vacuum. You may want to go with 2 subs to feel like you did something. You did not mention it but replacing the factory radio might be a better place to start.

    • @Kylandsk8
      @Kylandsk8 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Five Star Car Stereo Thanks for the reply. Just wondering, why do you recommend getting a new stereo? I would rather not mess with that, but if I do decide to go that route what's a good cheap option that would fit my car? And you're probably right about the single sub, so I'll probably get a dual sub enclosure now. What would you recommend for the amp, subs and enclosure? I need it to all be under $250, which I know is a very low budget, but I'm not looking for something high end, just something that will add a good amount of bass and last a while.
      These are the two things I'm considering right now:
      www.amazon.com/TNE212D-1200W-Loaded-Subwoofers-Planet/dp/B01BGW8GOM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1481728774&sr=8-2&keywords=Mtx+terminator

      Any more help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

    • @FiveStarCarStereoInc
      @FiveStarCarStereoInc  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kylandsk8 yes they are both doable options, I would lean more towards the second system with the ported box. The bass would be louder and the highs would be cleaner with a new radio. Check out the Pioneer fh-x731bt

    • @Kylandsk8
      @Kylandsk8 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Five Star Car Stereo Thanks for the tips earlier. I just had one more quick question and I would love to hear you're opinion. I got a subwoofer and amp, I am ready to install it and I decided to keep the stock stereo for now. So what I was wondering is if I could install the amp to the factory wiring where the old amp used to be. I tested the wiring and it's getting over 12 volts power and the remote turn on works, etc... So I would like to install it to the factory wiring to make it easier, but I don't know if there would be any downsides. Thanks.

    • @FiveStarCarStereoInc
      @FiveStarCarStereoInc  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kylandsk8 more then likely the factory power wire is not big enough to support the aftermarket amp. You can check to see how big the fuse on the factory wire and compare that to your new amps requirements. The factory should have a fuse under the hood called amp or something sound related.

    • @FiveStarCarStereoInc
      @FiveStarCarStereoInc  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your radio has 6 channel output, 4 for the highs and 2 for the subs. We would run an RCA to that output of the radio and 8 awg power just for the box. They both have the same power, the 12 is louder because of cone size.
