For everyone asking, the mods I use are Real Traffic Density from Steam Workshop and JazzyCat's AI Traffic Pack (from SCS forum i believe). My graphics settings are set to max and I don't use mods for graphics. I have a GTX 1060, 16 gb of ram, 1tb of storage, i5 4590, and it runs perfectly fine (except for when there are some certain mods)
You can use command g_traffic x, where x is number from 0 to 9, I use Real Traffic AI and it command with 5 or 3, but If youll write more, you can get full roads.
It's a nice mod, except in those cases where road junctions get stuck, because each side is waiting for the other side to move ... result is a endlessly growing line of traffic on all sides 😮💨
I got stuck in a traffic jam for a unprotected left yield for 2 in-game hours earlier today, ran out of patience and took a right and u-turn.. then proceeded to nearly doze off 2 blocks from my destination
Being from a part of America where you only see 1 car every 10-20 miles, having this mod on ATS only makes sense if you're ONLY driving in cities. I can specifically use the Montana DLC as a personal experience here. You NEVER see this many cars at once in Montana, unless it's right after a college football game

Real Density mod does not simply increase traffic, it also accounts for time. This means you'll have a jamm at 18h but at night you'll have even less traffic than vanilla
Just a normal day in the philippines lol it's actually an upside for me. I want to have a relatively realistic feel on my simulator while I practice driving. You could say I should just practice driving on the real thing but I for one don't want to waste gas since it's expensive nowadays, don't want to get tickets due to how bad my driving is, and ruin our family car (and/or someone else's car) when I unfortunately get to accidents. Plus whenever I get bored while staying at home but also don't want to go outside, at least I can practice on ATS. Better that than wasting my time and energy on LoL or Dota. Btw Nice choice on the music really capture that countryside driving vibes
It’s kinda true, but the mod isn’t adapted according to the time. Normally irl, when it’s 22PM-5AM the highways and villages are empty and when it’s 6AM-21PM those are full.
fun fact: you can increase or even remove traffic by using commands in the game. g_traffic 0 (no traffic) g_traffic 1 (default) g_traffic 5 (more traffic)

Major citys and interstates have high density traffic while highways Like I90 is completely empty in like Montana, just like real life, and bsck roads are not busy with traffic like most traffic mods do. I35 from Dallas all the way down to Auston is packed with traffic. But, I80 in the middle of nowhere is wuite empty, quite realistic
I really don't understand why use mods for traffic. I changed the .cfg file traffic factor number and now it's a wayy more populated than ATS. It's very fun and worrying sometimes, because whenever i'm leaving a repair station, i got to be fast before the traffic flow comes, blocking the entire street. Otherwise i have to wait an eternity before being able to move. In the matter of road rage, most of the drivers are cool and will wait for me to enter in the highway lane if i got my blinkers on and near the lane lines.
This isn't the problem, I mean that's the point of those mods, to make traffic more realistic. The problem is junctions without lights that don't have lights. You can't leave them during rush hour if you don't have priority.
It's always nice to have realistic traffic around. But unlike real life, if you get stuck in a jam, you can always reload the game and all will be gone for you to go through

Yo, for anyone wondering Had laptop with RTX 3060 Ryzen 5 5600H and I had traffic mod installed together with 4k trees and real brand names as welp as company gates. Works well with promods as well with alo setting maxed out NownI moved to RTX 4070 and i5 12600KF so I am looking forward to playing along to make game look more realistic with mods on visual side Just letting ya all know that you can have all graphic settings maxed out with traffic density mod and it should run fine
I think that when you stop the time should run like in the cities or gas station because I was waiting literal 2 hours in game only to get into highway after taking an exit.
I actually did, and it had game breaking glitches like cars popping in the middle of the road and hitting me. Or erratic behavior resulting in accidents. I had to remove it.
I think it’s great because the thing look like this, without it the highways in Germany are like ghost roads. The only problem with this mod is that it wants a powerful Rig, I had many lags when used it, so I removed it, but if you have good PC, this is great mod!
I haven't been to Germany since I'm Eastern European but I have been to Italy and I can say this is true, the highway was so full you would drive like 20 KM/H
The game render distance is too small so traffic spawns too late for the density to increase. How do I increase render or draw distance so there's more traffic? I already have the mod but with the render distance being so small, it's basically unable to do anything. And I'm already at ultra graphics settings
I like the mod but sometimes literally traffic halts, for example a T intersection we are coming north and must yield to left and right but with the mod it’s infinite traffic 😢. I like it sometimes just not in cities as it doesn’t do well.

I think the density in the game is pretty good, but the point that mindblows me is the fact, that the density is dynamic
