As someone one who has worked with the developmentally disabled for years, this really gets me. People don't understand how many stories like that of Sue and her sister exist. Throwing in one of my favorite songs of all time just made it hit all that deeper.

I just saw the Willy Wonka musical and when he sang this I teared up because it was beautiful and I remembered this. Go see Willy Wonka if it comes to your area - defiantly not just a kids show (well created for adults to enjoy it 100%).
Its interesting the voices that they chose for this. No vocal pyrotechnics, no belting, almost no vibrato . Simple notes in a melody and guess who they knew could imbue unadorned innocence and poignancy into this performance? All these glee voices have had some vocal training, so they picked two that could strip themselves bare of all those classes, and sound - almost childlike. Its really very hard to do. Basically its Chris and Jenna's song, When less is more... that's what those two do very well.
Jenna wasn't given that many opportunities to stand out when Rachel was still at McKinley High. This is one of her best performances. Chris was awesome as usual. Beautiful poignant performance and Jane was wonderful. Sue has never been more vulnerable and human.
Lembro que chorei assistindo essa performance, e nesse momento tô chorando porquê ela lembra minha tia, que infelizmente faleceu esse ano. Me dá uma dor tão grande, eu amo essa música.
My dad and I would watch Willy Wonka with Gene Wilder all the time when I was little. He passed when I was 7. I still have a hard time watching it, but when this scene happened it made me sob in a beautiful way.
This song is so beautiful to me especially after this performance I cry like a baby every time I hear it between this and the version from Wonka I will lose my shit.I had a really rough life and no real childhood, books and movies and music were my escape.I became a singer now I'm pursuing my dream of leaving my 9-5 and going on the road and touching people through music to me imagination can pull you from a dark place and it's the first step into making things come true.
This is truly such a beautiful song! I can’t even listen to it and not cry. For some reason this song hits me, it was the first song I listened to after my second dog passed away.
And that was the moment we saw why sue truly saved the New Directions. Because even when she's horrible to them and pushes them to the limit they care about her. Will taught them well.
She didn't pass away at the time of the episode, but she had started having issues with dementia. They wrote her character this way, since she could no longer act
I think it’s because Sue is such a strong character, she needed a chance to show her humanity. It also explained why Becky was her assistant, and why she’s tough on people that are “typical”. She was a very kind person towards her sister, but we never saw that.
The producers of this show should be arrested. Any person that covered for the pure depravity of their cast members should also be arrested. At the bear minimum this show should never be mentioned again. Hey what happened to the actor that played the sport guy that had a crush on the morbidly obese chick that turned him down?? Would anyone like to tell me???
This was really nice of the glee kids. They knew Jean was special, and they made sue feel the same way.
saw this episode when my grandma passed away she loved this song.
Sylvie = Jean but disabilities différents.
Sylvie is paraplegic.
Emilie = Sylvie.
Leadership Captain Leader.
What makes this even sadder is that the Actress who portrayed Sue's sister actually passed away from Alzimer's Disease
Are you talking about gene wilder aka The original willy wonka from willy wonka and The chocolate factory movie from 1971?
Because of this scene i cried in the cinema when the song was performed in wonka. It’s such a beautiful sweet song.
Same
What's truly sad about this, is that Trocki, the actress who had portrayed Jean had actually passed away. So I think this was dedicated to her.
@@JadenYukifan28She died after the episode, but they took her character out because she was battling advanced Alzheimer's. Pretty sure that they still dedicated the episode to her though.
@@alking7655 I know that she passed after the episode aired, but it was still a nice tribute.
That scene always makes me cry. I will continue to watch it from time to time for 2 reasons: it's beautiful, and sometimes I need a good cry.
Nothing like a well-earned cry; it's ridiculously cathartic
Yep. OMG never fails to wreck me. Sue and her sister were so great! ❤
Amen! lol it’s literally mental health to let down your guard and have a good cry mixed with Beaty and sadness. More should do it.
It makes sense why Sue is the way she is because of how she saw kids treating her sister. She doesn’t trust people as a result.
(^∧^)still working in movie 🎦
This was probably the best episode. Jeanie was a great character. Jane Lynch was on fire when 'her sister' was on the show.
You know we NEVER even really think about the fact that this was even an actress on the show. We just think of Cory, Naya and Mark who are all gone! RIP All Glee family that are gone!
Robin didn’t die until later but I agree
Nah mark can burn in hell

Rip gene wilder aka Willy Wonka from Willy Wonka and The chocolate factory 😢
So sorry for the amazing people from this show who have passed, Rest in peace, God bless 🌟🙏❤️
This was really nice of them singing for Sue’s sister.

Willie wonka? Not Charlie and the chocolate factory?
You want to watch the one with "Wille Wonka" in the title. The other one is not good.

This is so much reading lol. Some words I can’t even read

Agree! I’m SO glad that they didn’t have Lea Michelle sing this one! It needed subtle, not in your face show boating 😀

I’m still surprised that Tina - who is always crying over anything - did not cry in this scene.
I think it's cause she knew that Jean is on her side.
idk why but this was one of the only times a glee song made me cry
This is why Sue is my favorite Glee character
Oh God I love this song..... I miss my brother Darryl BIG D.... Who was intellectually challenged. 😢😢😢😢❤
PS - my gosh!!! Chris sings like an angel!!! ❤️

I have a different sister and brother, twins. They are both so honest and it would destroy me to lose them. This episode brings me to tears :c
This was a brilliant moment.

Aww 😢 Sue when she grabbed Will's hand ✋👌 shows she was really hurting tbh first time I actually felt bad 😔 for her tbh but.... who died by any chance
OMG,, you almost had me till the end until the dumb question. It's Sue's sister. God, the ignorance.

I perceive this more as a wedding song. Like how song was placed in this episode that i ran across on youtube.

3 actually. Naya, Cory and Mark

the little kids at my dance studio danced to this song!
It's a sad ending in glee

I would love to see Glee make a come-back. It would need a new cast, of course. Maybe some of the original actors could come back once in a while.
I havent cried that much since i watched Marley And Me
okay i remember that song it s a movie willy woka since i was a vampire kid
Only 10 more seconds with my little brother would heal me I swear😢.
💛🕊️
And what happened next, well some say, that Coach Sue’s heart grew three sizes that day.
I think sue gained more respect for mr. Schuster and the glee kids after this
Unbelieveable that so many Glee actors passed away I wonder what happened behind The scenes
I think they killed off Jean for Sue’s character. Because the actress who played Jean didn’t die until later.
Good they had a character with a learning disability played by someone with 1 I have 1 myself so a tad left of field ax❤
Wonka lives ❤️🥰
Momentos donde un hombre llora

I always wondered why they had her die? She was still alive when they did this.
