Beautiful ! I just came across your channel and I'm happy to support you and other fellow motovloggers. Keep up the great work and ride safe out there ...
Nice review, your subs will grow! An Englishman abroad ... Like you I'm in the 6' bracket. Could you discuss the relative merits of this short screen on wind blast v the stock V4S screen please. My V2S arrives soon so I'm considering options!
Thank you! The V4S screen doesn't look much, but I know several owners ranging between 5'9"-6'2", who all swear it's one of the best they've ever had for cruising at 100 mph (... in Mexico... on a private road). I tend to agree. The V2S I rode had the Pike's Peak carbon screen on it, which provides smooth airflow (no buffeting), but more wind pressure (less protection). I'd buy the PP screen because it looks fantastic and works for me, especially as I live in a warm climate for most of the year. If you're mainly a dry-weather rider I would do the same. If you use your bike for occasional commuting or touring, or if you live somewhere cold like the north of England/Northern States/Scandinavia, the stock screen may work best. If you're getting the bike anyway (lucky you btw, great decision!), you have time to see whether you like the standard screen or not. Many people who hate OEM screens tend to go larger, but going smaller often yields better results (smoother flow) IMOE.
@@RichDunn Thanks for the advice. I'm trading my Monster R ((see it on my channel) after 3 wonderful years so airflow isn't a problem! Just fancied extending my distances a little and a softer ride for these old bones of mine! Was aware of turbulence issue for 6 footers on the MS and you've helped me. Maybe the PP carbon for summer day posing and the MRA touring vario for longer jaunts.
Swapped out my 1250GSA to a V2S last year, find it much more suited to me as I’m 5’9” and primarily a solo rider. Loved my GSs but the V2S is so much more fun to ride even on long trips, I’d have another…
@@RichDunn After three GSs, including my previous 1250 GSA I wanted something lighter and lower. Just as capable for big trips but so much more fun, tried the V4 but felt it was overkill for me. The V2 is quick, handles superbly and feels ‘special’. Certainly looks a lot better and gets more attention, shame the dealers are so spread out even here in the UK.
@@IanTed Same here, V2S stole my heart, more than the V4 which too big and (in my humble opinion) that power is only truely usable on a track. Getting mine coming friday, can’t wait!
I rode the 1260 and 950s back-to-back and enjoyed the 950s more, it's a great bike! The V2S has definitely moved the game on a little more though IMPO, especially the latest skyhook suspension on it, which works really well. As always tomorrow's technology today costs more, but for those comfortable not owning the latest and greatest, there's not a lot wrong with the old model, although their more affordable price will also be reflected in the lower residual values too.
Love mine except for the Bluetooth connectivity which does not work. Any suggestions? Also, both alloy wheels failed ( heavy distortions but did not crack) on a recent interstate trip over potholed roads. Insurance paid me out and just ordered spoked wheels as replacements. Incidentally, I have a whippet at home.
What are you trying to Bluetooth and to what? That sounds bad re: wheels. Never heard of that before with the V2S. I had a whippet as a child; loved it!
@@RichDunn Helmet and phone to the bike’s Bluetooth module (an extra or option). Still can’t connect/receive or make calls/listen to music. Just got the spokes on and she looks even badder. Now my bike is “bespoke” (forgive the pun); definitely the only one in Australia as the new V2S only comes with rims. These spokes are from its precursor viz 950. Please keep posting reviews. Your dialogue is informative and entertaining.

Thank you so much, appreciated!! 👍
I’ll be getting my V2 S next week, and review like this make the wait even harder! Thanks for the smile 😊
You are going to really enjoy it! Let me know how you like it.
@@RichDunn Will do! 👍🏻

Puig Touring screen much more suited to long trips, I’m only 5’9” but I only struggle with airflow in very hot weather.

Couldn't agree more. It's on my short list for next 'big' Adv.

You can get the 2019-2021 950Ss for great prices with the release of "V2S" rebrand. I have a 2020 950S and I love it.

Awesome looking bike!
Looks a darn sight nicer than our scratched ones, LOL! 😆

Great review, I must get a test ride on one!
Yeep - do it. I'd say its the most fun I've had in a good while.
@@RichDunn having watched your videos for a while now, that’s high praise indeed!
