Basically British people are reserved and the UK social culture is quite closed, whereas in Latin America the culture is open and the people are warmer, more direct and more friendly. So it's easier to meet new friends in a culture that is more open.
Latin America is obviously similar to Spanish way of being, where meeting people is based on a superficial basis and a baseless sense of "friendship". Mostly hypocritical people. Those who are reserved and hard to befriend can become true friends that will stand with you, regardless of the situation. What is easily earned, is easily lost, and vice versa.
Im an Aussi and I find dating in the UK absolutely horrendous which was a massive culture shock. 1) England will win the World Cup 2 times over befor they "pop around for a "cuppa" or a beer. The best we can do as men is to learn from it, and it helps when women are completely honest about this sort of thing (rather than lying and saying ‘be yourself’ to protect the social status quo)
