I see the same happening here again with the rickshaw man, but worst because he thinks he is so righteous & superior he ended up lecturing the rickshaw-man condescendingly about how he should not spoil China's reputation🤣🤣 when he (the vlogger) himself is the one with egg on his face. Another example of his prejudice is his constant mentioning of seeing many Chinese flags on display in Lhasa. He still believes in the myth peddled by indian media reports that Tibet is" illegally" occupied & ruled by China, therefore is not deserving of having Chinese flags flying there. If he had been in US or Europe, where some tourist spots also have the national flags being flown all over, I bet he won't be making the same comment about seeing many national flags being flown in his video of those places.

I'm not implying it couldn't be scam or there are no scams in China, but rickshaw like this is mainly for tourism and usually more expensive than actual daily transportation used by locals, so the price would be higher as expected, the drivers could also drive you around in the area longer as tour rather than directly taking you to your destination, it's their job. I don't think he was scamming you, during cold and rainy days or evenings, it's quite normal the price will be bit more expensive. Plus it's a sightseeing trike gonna be more expensive than other ordinary transports, same like in most countries sightseeing bus are way more expensive than normal bus which take the same routes. In Japan, this sightseeing trike in Tokyo is extremely expensive, many times than that of taxis. When travelling overseas, it's reasonable to keep an eye on any kind of scams though, like I got scammed in Turkey multiple times and my friend got scammed by those Tuktuks, barbers,street vendors while he was travelling in India.

I don't think he was scamming you, during cold and rainy days or evenings, it's quite normal the price will be bit more expensive. Plus it's a sightseeing trike gonna be more expensive than other ordinary transports, same like in most countries sightseeing bus are way more expensive than normal bus which take the same routes. In Japan, this sightseeing trike in Tokyo is extremely expensive, many times than that of taxis. When travelling overseas, it's reasonable to keep an eye on any kind of scams though, like I got scammed in Turkey multiple times and my friend got scammed by those Tuktuks, barbers,street vendors while he was travelling in India.

I hope you'll realize that it was not a scam from the beginning if you can watch your own video. He was just asking for 30 yuan, nothing more or less. You have to understand that RICKSHAWS in Lhasa are modes of luxurious transportation for tourists to have a robust view of the city. You could have taken a bus or taxi which could be cheaper. The whole so-called scam was completely due to the language barrier and your inappropriate use of language and behavior.
